I think the localisation for the focus tree name is only used in tooltips for loading the focus tree (load_focus_tree = aden_focus)

it's based off of a DnD campaign i once did

Well its a pretty small country, but i think it has rich history, i‘d say like for the political tree like, 100 focuses? Maybe 100-120ish?

You can use on_startup to fire an event a certain amount of days in the future, with the trigger = { in the event acting as requirements that have to be true for it to actually firewhen the time comes
Keep in mind that hoi4 has no leap years though

Not required (as in, the mod will run) but you shouldn't expect them to have accounted for you playing without the dlc. Same as with all required dlc really.

I am having a very odd issue, maybe It's common, maybe It isn't.
I made a mod, by myself, with little to zero experience, where I added new decisions for Germany and Japan, which can change their flag.
It works! It worked perfectly, until I uploaded it to the Workshop.
It just doesn't load!
I have tried everything, every file is identical to the original one before I uploaded it.
I activate only the workshop version? I load in, zero decisions, I try and use the command to force change my cosmetic tag to one of the custom flags I put in? Doesn't work, the debug box goes empty.
I've never had this issue with any other game before when uploading something, so, any help would be appreciated greatly.

Just remember that if you're gonna use content from a mod in another mod you're making, you should ask for permission from the mod's development team

So um... I added this to my generic focus tree thing, and I can get the reactionaire_ethos to complete in-game, but I don't know how to add more below it.
I tried copying the nationalism focus as I did with the liberty ethos, but it hasn't worked for me.

New germany path where the SS overthrows Hitler and becomes the "Volkssturm Reich", when this happens no, himmler does not become leader, the SS does. one of the many things about it is that instead of regular manpower laws, your manpower is based on how many people WANT to fight, you can do decisions overtime to increase this gaining up to 30% population, but things like losing major cities, staying in a war for too long, or other stuff causes it to go down drastically, which when you reach 80% surrender progress, a civil war can break out (notifying you 20 days in advance) because the people are "growing tired of the current regime". along with this, everyones (any country that isnt fascist or in the axis) base opinion of you is -50 because of "War Criminal Leader" and other countries are less likely to ally with you if they arent the same ideology. Also occasionally, divisions will be made on their own by the SS however they will use more equipment.
Reading this makes me question the hoi4 community.
Also PDX will vaporize any mods that mentions war crimes
They had to rename a focus in the Japanese tree because it was related to some very war crimey things

honestly the best way to learn is just to search through game files locally or on reddit or the hoi4 modding community discord
they have almost every bug you can think of unless ur looking at map bugs
or look at your favorite mods but dont reuse code just look at how they did it

I've been working on the industrial tree for Iceland, and wanted to have three choices for you, continue the shift of your industry towards fishing, go back to an agricultural country, or go for a forced shift towards heavy industry. But I thought I should add at least some risk to the heavy industry branch, since realistically, it would have been really difficult for Iceland do such a thing at the time. So, while the heavy industry route will give you the best buffs, resources, and such, it will come at a massive risk, a collapse of the economy if the deadline isn't met

The best I can guess is that there are three files involved, one for definitions, one for effects, and one for graphics.

You could link it to a tech that unlocks the batallion but removing the tech wont block pre-existent templates from being deployed

i know next to nothing about coding or modding, but i've been sketching focus trees for a mod i've been wanting to work on.
this mod has the exact same concept as millennium dawn or novum vexillum, in that it's simply just the world in the 21st century
however, i want my mod to be better than both
it will be as historically accurate as possible while also offering alternate paths for some countries
it will not be as bloated as millennium dawn, but also not as bland as novum vexillum
that said, does anyone want to see what i've sketched for focus trees so far and critique them?

hello, is there a simple mod out there that allows me to paradrop into friendly or neutral territory? or is the game engine limiting that no one has managed to do this yet? I can't find a mod for this at all but everything else is achievable, it seems.
I’ve tried to find the 00_paradrop.txt file to edit to allow friendly and neutral drops but its missing. Does anyone know what files I need to edit to allow this for the player?

arms_factory_level is a variable equal to the amount of mils the scoped state has

Oh, that's up to you to figure out. I usually base my factory counts off of Germany's and their PPP GDP (so I take Germany's PPP GDP, divide it by their effective factory count
(number of civs(c) + 2/3 * number of mils)(m).
and that gives me how many billion dollars should equal a civ's IC(f). Then I distribute those factories using their military spending. Using these formulas

You were right.... I searched through every file in the common folder and there is nothing, not even a true or false, to indicate if/when a paradrop can go ahead. I found everything but that, sadly.... where might it sit if it is hard coded? Or is that all encrypted?
I might see if I can get someone to decrypt if possible. Just provides additional options if we can paradop into allied territory close to a frontline, etc etc.
If it's hardcoded it's not easily modable, probably within hoi4.exe itself

If (which since I don't see any file that would probably contain that I think is very likely) it's in hoi4.exe you're more likely to get it to be modable by annoying the devs than modifying the exe yourself

I might contact one of them if possible or raise a ticket somewhere, if it’s literally a binary line or two stating paradrops cannot take place on neutral or allied territory, and we are then allowed to then change that, fingers crossed they entertain the idea which may be straight forward for them to implement (as naive as I sound!)

Are there any uptodate mods that rename or make planes (and ideally tanks, ships) have historical names again, etc? Even just historical blueprints.

Best way of learding things is by looking at the actual files of vanilla HOI4 (or some high quality mods) to understand how to do stuff

Hey, so i essentially made a mod, thats a copy of the TNO colors for vanilla (tho since it hasn't updated for a while i decided to do this for personal use) and the problem is: for some reason even tho i assigned colors for all the new warlords (wich the mod didnt have obv) they instead get random colors (the same ones that appear with the normal mod as it isn't updated obv).
