It will always get laggy late game because of how many divisions the ai spams out. You can try and go into your setting and turn off things like weather

If you only replace a few strings from vanilla, you can put strings in that folder to override vanilla regardless of filename

I dont know what it is, I think hypothesis is it being a combination of:
- Unit count
- Having 2 billion equipment types across the world (and other kinds of savegame bloat)
- Spy missions are more prevalent late-game and poorly optimized
still, how much does NASA PC count though? at some point i would get it, but 1960 seems a bit too early for NASA computer to lag

Maybe you've used the wrong setting when saving, try grabbing a vanilla portrait, and pasting yours on top of it before saving the result in your mod folder

That's is a harder thing to tweak, the start date requires you to make your own bookmark/scenario, and to go into several folders, I've done it once and it did work but idk

The idea of literally starting in 1900 is.. insane as it is amazing. Literally the Victorian age about to end, women in corseted dresses, men in suits and top hats (or slacks, trousers and overalls with a cap for the average bloke ), imperialism at its peak etc..

remove one of the two brackets below the final add_ resources
move the state_category out of the history section, and it should be something like "rural" instead of medium, there's a list on the wiki

you should have 2 versions of your mod, 1 wich is in documents/paradox/hoi4/mods, and 1 thats from steam

If vanilla has flags for the cosmetic tag, take those names, otherwise you can look at other cosmetic tags

I have a problem with HOI4 modding: I am trying to add new states and I can access the game in Nudge and I dont have any error logs related to anything I added, but when I start a Singleplayer game, the game crashes without any related error logs. Can anybody please help me with that?
try to search for key words "MAP:ERROR" or something there should be something at least,
Also do you get a error message that something is wrong with your map when you start the game maybe? cause that sometimes happens telling you that you should check it in the nudge, errors maybe that the states dont have a designated startegic region, or something is wrong with the buildings

Strategic regions are all assigned and there are no error logs at all it just crashes

because if you start in debug hoi4 automatically gives you an error log on boot
