I thought this would beat rathpith
I want to say that it causes you to lose life when you place the totem but not when they cast
I'll try to make a spell totem build for 0.5 I think, thanks for the input and the answers
ping me if you make a pob for it
yeah I will work on it, in the meantime I've created https://discord.com/channels/174993814845521922/1507196579575107645 to share some ideas
They killed shield wall ?
They did except if you use Nebuloch
So the new black flame ring looks cool how does avatar of fire interact with it as you deal fire damage but they take chaos from the ingite instead?
for all the people that don't know how to build for it properly yes
I’d have to check out the changes but before, because ignite was a ailment, regardless if you caused it, you would still deal chaos damage overtime via ignite even if you had avatar of fire
So then you’d instead stack whither to increase the dot effects of ignite when using the ring
Sweet thank you, yeah the ring got a big buff to ignite magnitude and got a change that wither makes them take increased fire damage as well as chaos.
Il look at it soon. Still sounds like it would be viable if you used AoF, if you use the ring you’d need Whither, and stack a good amount of ignite magnitude and duration
Used it before in 0.3. Looked cool
Gotcha, the magnitude went from 50% to 80% to 100% so I was thinking a monk since they are so close wither using hollow palm with fan the flames and wind blast for ignite explosions.
So If i'm reading this right. Base culling threshold for normals is now 35%. Those new gloves can stack 10 times to 100% increased Culling strike threshold. Add the Myris Uxor helm, for another 100% increased.. that should be 105% Culling strike Threshold, meaning you could cull normals from full life.
So would that turn Killing Palm into Power Charge generating, Culling Flicker Strike, since it will chain strike other nearby cull-able enemies
You cant gain power charges while using flicker strike right? Wouldnt that mean youre still limited by your charges?
They are talking about killing palm just making a comparison to flicker
You are not using Flicker... You are using Killing Palm that will dash to Cull an enemy and then Dash again if their are other enemies to cull near by,. And with 105% culling threshold, every normal is a cullable enemy at full life.. so it can chain and dash to all of them
That does sound fun, altho you are taking up 2 gear slots to cull normal mobs
And power charge generation
oh right and get charges yes
Bells from Martial Artist are cullable too...
Would that not work really well with the new monk ascendancy channel?
Forgive me since I dont play a lot of monk but could killing palm trigger heralds?
idk about the channeling skill
yes if they are shocked, from Empowered Sparks II
looks like minions haven't been touched
You feed yourself power charges with killing palm, so you'd constantly refill the additional images yeah?
guess i know what I'm building as a league starter lol
Ohhhh.... I forgot about the 2 aditional images with power charges
altho I guess that makes you stationary... so maybe not the best
Im guessing it doesnt continuously consume charges, only when you start the channeling
also says they vanish after they attack so idk if it would chain to the next cullable target properly or not
it would be better to use the Crushing Fear skill, with Resonance for that
Chaos Aoe + Frenzy charges turned Power
oh wait you cant socket that in Hollow form
fuuuu
Still the Chaining isnt as needed, due to the images
Oh quick question, do you guys think Scold's Bridle would trigger phased form?
Even tho recoup was removed from the ascendancy, i kinda wanna try remaking a recoup build i saw on chrono
has anyone tried impale minions in POE2? those were easy to make in 1 and pretty strong
Scold's, Sancro, Everlasting Gaze, then just get recoup above 100%
i'm thinking impale on one of the bone skills, and then skeles to remove it
No because its a Self Hit, not and Enemy Hit
"Phased Form grants take 30% less Damage, and 4 seconds after being Damaged by an Enemy Hit, take Damage equal to 30% of that Hit's Damage."
Ah, guess i didnt see that enemy hit tag
Horrors Flight has to be and Ezzomyte item right... so you could potentially pull the Fear Encarnate out of it and socket it into better gloves...
has PoB or Maxroll or moba said anything about when they plan to update their planners?
Usually happens around the time of launch or just after as they scrape the new stuff via datamining it, so the patch needs to be live
i gotcha i wont be home during launch so i was hoping to theorycraft until then thanks
Auuughhhhh I wanna try and cooking up a chrono build utilizing the 20% echo and cascade, but trying to find a skill for it is hard
another shield wall league for me, yippee
Oh wait HotG can be cascaded/echod?
I think I managed to drop 11 hammers on a boss before everything went on cooldown. He died on the first one but i kept going to see how many i could do
Idk if the changed it. It was the time snap and the passive that had a 33% chance not to go on cooldown
They removed the 33% cd, and shuffled time snap to where the 33% cd used to be
ohhh well idk then maybe you can still do it
With facebreaker coming as well, chrono is gonna end up a Jojo character
They did a hella nice change with one of the nodes, changing it from cast speed to skill speed
"The Sands of Time Buff granted by the Quicksand Hourglass Notable Passive Skill now grants 1-60% increased Skill Speed (previously Cast Speed), and has also has new visual effects."
Hmm, ill keep looking around, gonna see if I can find something fun
Been wanting to try coc Comet again, but with the changes they did, i dont think itll be as viable anymore
hollup bonestorm losing its sustained tag might be lowkey crazy
it means it only rolls crit once and every hit will crit
might make inexorable crit a possible support
Can ancestral warrior totem trigger Invokers elemental expression?
Reasonably certain the tag fix doesn't impact the skill. It already performed a single set of projectiles fired at the same time and was seemingly incorrectly tagged as sustained.
it still meant each bone + shockwave rolled separately. though this makes the damage less consistent and more bursty since it's per set now
infernal legion minion builds sound pretty dead? 25% > 10% is an huge nerf.
its gone
But also sustaining their life is a piece of cake now with only 10% life cost. Let's see how much life tamed bosses will have.
Is there anyway to turn a physical skill to 100% fire damage?
Nope fire damage is PoE2's red headed stepchild when it comes to elemental damage
only through avatar of fire and even then it's just 75%. technically fire attunement gives the last 25% but that's one less support just to convert to 100% fire
guys how does this line kill blood mage im confused?
Before you had multiple leeches happening at the same time for each pool, additively increasing the rate at which you regained health/mana/ES
Now you can only have 1 source of leech for Health, 1 source for Mana, and 1 source for ES at any time, and the % of damage you leech from is capped at 40k dmg.
Basically guts leech rate
Blood mage relies on leech
it makes bloodmage no longer the best way to bypass skillcosts & gain a deffensive layer from doing so
idk it doesnt sound too terrible
u can still leech around 9000 (idk how fast) based on the 40k limit
because at 10% leech you will only be able to get a maximum of 3868 life leeched over 1 second if you hit your hit the next server tick that it falls off
I think the problem is more that so many comets will eat that regen faster than you can get it back now.
but is there still a source for instant leech?
that's the biggest hit imho
compare it to recoup builds that can recoup 30,000 per second and do it with more damage and bloodmage doesnt look as attractive
the atziri's acuity seems to be unchanged, so there's still one source of instant leech
nope
oh found it
nope they don't want Instant leech anymore, its gone from the game
Im curious if the new "Remnants of Kalguur" gem, are going to be Ward based Remnants
Overflowed Runic Ward would be strong
I figure this would lose it's free shocked ground at some point, was the only source of shocked ground that didn't require some kind of setup skill. As a tempest bell "hater," I'm a little sad. I haven't been able to get away from Gathering Storm partly because of it though, so maybe a good thing.
And of course this was happening:
Was far too free. lol
Actually need to change a lot now since I wasn't bothering with shock chance at all.
But now you can Curse yourself for 6 Bells
lol
Oh, wow.
That's kind of neat. Can generate a full 6 orbs of storms for 6 infusions, that can then turn into 6 power charges all in a few casts.
Can't wait for everyone to be mad when they are given temporal. lol
Also really bump up the totem numbers for totem builds, which won't need those charges.
Will be cool to see what people do with it.
Oh wait, you'd be fucked using that with totems unless you did something about it. lol
I kinda want to build a Culling Mapper now. idk what ascendancy would be best, but the New Horrors Flight gloves combined with Myris Uxor would give you 200% culling threshold... making the new 35% life left on normal mobs, 105% life left, allowing culling at full health.
Add in Killing Palm, and you get a Psudo Flicker Strike, that generates Power Charges
Killing Palm:
"Dash to an enemy and Strike them, Culling enemies if their life is low enough and performing additional dashing Strikes to other Cullable targets in range if your target was Culled."
witchhunter is the de facto cull ascendancy. every hit can cull
I was actually wondering if the new +3 unarmed range on Facebreakers would fix Killing Palm's accuracy problem. I swear half of the strikes miss when I use it, and I always thought it was strange pathing issues and not being in range.
I thought they fixed that with one of the 0.4 hotfixes
Yeah, they said that. It definitely wasn't fixed. lol
lol
Added 3 Fluxes which can be crafted from Remnants to transform the resistances on your items from one element to another.
horticrafting finally in poe2
at least the most common use
Hm. Not bad at all.
what about stormweaver cast on crit cometa? So the cast on critical comet still will kill everything super fast, no? they didnt touch it
Hey, does the change on Oil Barrage and Rend change anything in clear speed ? Or the changes don't impact the skills that much ?
Honestly never done cast on crit, so I have no clue. I just figured the whole deal with it was mass propagation that was only sustained through mass leech. The bottleneck is specifically mana, not anything else. Again though, I haven't even looked into it, so that's for someone else to answer. 😛
Omg quipolatl thesis survives???
I don't see it mentioned in the notes everywhere
I 100% assumed indigon would be giga dead as a result but 👀
thats like infinite mana, right? cast on crit comets etc?
Yes it's the infinite mana regen on curse
I used it with indigon, spell slinger and coea to automate casting curses
It's a mess of a build because it loves to stall and kill you
But for a few key items it solves endgame
does 0.5 leech nerf mean the end of the blood mage comet build? ;O
hrrr, I planned to finally play it
Yep that one is dead
we can still use in other ascendancies without life cost, no?
might be interesting to regen like 6k mana per sec...
I didn't play it so I'm not sure but it won't be as busted
With indigon you can get to 60k and up
But eventually each cast costs more than your entire mana pool and you stall, likely dying right after
Unless each cost is finely tuned to get you out of the situation
And if the costs are too low to begin with then you can't ramp up
Oh, damn, for a second I thought they only lowered the skill gem level of attack skills, which seems silly considering spells are the bigger issue.
Turns out vertex is gone. lol
So there's a upper limit too
So, that makes sense.
i played indigon mirage league in poe1 and I didnt really liked it haha. Maybe i will have to try it again here
Rn I'm hoping there's a way to make a spell cost A LOT of mana without archmage or a channel
Still feel like they should have chopped off the top skill gem level on rolls. I don't know, very odd.
meh, rip my starter plan...
Or maybe the new totem node that makes it cost spirit and not need charges
which one was it?
spark comet bm
I'm fine with just 1 totem if it casts 20m damage sparks lol
i wanted to do that too.
is this abyssal lich secret ascendancy proj speed tech still in 0.5 to abuse twisters?
Abyssal Lich wasn't mentioned in Patch notes
Is there an ascendancy that deals with curses well? For Soul Mantle usage
no ascendancies that counter curses, but the intelligence region has a few curse reduction clusters
there's also a cluster near the merc
55% near the merc
60% + focus ES
30% small nodes at the mid right cluster
25% + 20% ES/EV
you can get full immunity with the 3 clusters up north, but they're kind of far apart
good morning!
I couldn't find answers for delayed effects on weapon sets / weapon skill points.
Do they somehow snapchat?
For example:
Weapon set 1: A crossbow with 10% phys dmg leeched as health and Granades which deal 100 phys dmg. Passives with 10% increased amount of leech, 20% inc. projectile dmg and 20% increased aoe.
Weapon set 2: A spear (without leech) and a shield. Using basic spear throw. passives without increased leech, but with a total of 50% increased amount of leech.
So when I throw my grenade with weapon set 1 and then instantly swap to set 2 and use the basic spear throw. Do the grenades still benefit from the passives, when they explode, even if I'm switched to set 2?
And what about the leech, do I still get the health?
Ty
So, that the patch notes are out, which class is more viable with this weapon? Still huntress or? I want to know in advance
Because I would love to have a build around it
Probably any that can do decent lightning damage, but its from the new Fortress pinnacle boss so its not going to be cheap
Yep, I know, but if I'm fixated on something, I'll do everything to get it 🙂
Honestly think I'm still just going to use Gathering Storm for shocking despite losing Shocked Ground and not using Bells. Still hits like a truck and I want my Perfection. I always try Tempest Flurry due to those bonuses on the final hit, but it always ends up frustrating me needing to swing a bunch just to get to that hit, and Storm Wave hit is small enough that the chance scaling doesn't put it past Gathering Storm.
How does cast on crit work? Is it how much dmg the crit hit does that determines how much % you get to coc ?
https://www.poe2wiki.net/wiki/Cast_on_Critical
basically yes. energy is calculated based on the raw damage of the crit
Cast on Critical is a persistent buff Meta skill. The skill gains Energy whenever the user deals a critical hit on an enemy. Upon reaching maximum energy, the energy is consumed to trigger all socketed spells.
For the mechanic to function reliably, the critical hit damage needs to be about ten times higher than the monster's Ailment Threshold.
weirdly in poe2 the issue with CoC is not capping crit or stacking dmg, it's more about affording the cost of these comets ;p
btw ctrl-f twister
0 nerfs xd
I have a feeling with everyone spamming "No twister nerf!?" will que GGG into getting those twisters. 😛
They nerfed shield wall but not twister
same with cast on
I dont understand why they dont nerf the real op stuff
yeah, damn bear, nerf it nao!
Hmm, i might try nova coc comet recoup chrono, even if I have to sacrifice some passives for it
But with the chaos wand unique having the repeatable tag, might do a curse + liminal coil as a starter
still not sure if i want to play witch (https://maxroll.gg/poe2/planner/42k46503) or sorceres (https://maxroll.gg/poe2/build-guides/cold-snap-frostbolt-stormweaver-leveling-guide) next league, any input? maybe i'll try both
Is Irongrasp (for Iron Grip). The only way to allow for Strength scaling to apply to grenades damage?
For now yes. I don't think they add Iron grip on a tree.
Patch notes say:
Added 19 new Companion-themed Passive Skills to the Passive Tree.
... So like, 5 clusters? ish?
3 clusters of 6 would be sad
Is the build snipe with glaciale arrow still ok ? Will I be able to one shot bosses ?
Yes, but Ice shot got nerfed, you don't get 25% more freeze buildup. So it will take more time.
"The Prized Pain Unique Ring no longer has Deal your Thorns Damage to Enemies you Stun with Melee Attacks. It now has 15-25% chance to deal your Thorns damage to enemies you Hit with Melee Attacks. Existing items are not affected by this change."
- Mana stacking lich. And shield charge too I think.
Am I high or am I cooking
Max crit thorns, scale crit dmg and shock?
been outta the game for awhile, unsurprisingly jumping back in this league - do we have any kinda time frame on when we could see the changes to the skill tree?
Patch Day, when league starts
Takes the sites and POB a bit to update their stuff
edge us to the last minute still eh, appreciated
probably both lol. could also go phys thorns with oracle's life -> thorns while shapeshifted node, though it's still harder to stack life
wait volcanic fissure + hollow form stampede would be very funny
unless there's like an internal cooldown for fissures to aftershock
damn 0.2 seconds
Poe 2 Starters
-
Bear shaman rampage
-
Totem warbringer
-
Companion Spirit walker
-
Martial artist
-
whirling assault warrior
Boys what do i PICK
With the new ancestral bond, do the totem still consume charges if you summon them or they just summon without consuming charges ? I believe it’s the first case because otherwise it would be trash
"not require consuming", so you don't need charges to summon one. though spell totem is the only one that gains bonuses from consuming charges
many of the Disciple of Varashta djinn command skills say they deal spell damage, but do they benefit from spell damage increases to your player character or not? I would assume not since I think they are still minions who are dealing the actual damage and minions don't benefit from player character modifiers unless specified otherwise
Correct, it's spell damage from a minion source, not you
thx 👍
Just like all the other command skills
yeah, never really played with minions or command skills much (or at all really) before, but plan to do so this league start
will witch be good for a minion build in 0.5? inferalist or other ascendancy?
Chalupa might
lich is decent
I plan to to do a sorceress minion build, either disciple with one or two djinns, or chronomancer mainly for it's defense, although inevitable agony seems like a very easy damage multiplier against bosses for minions too
which doesn't answer your question, I have no idea if witch minions will be good, but just like related
Actually curious; what does chance to shock actually do to increase shock chance? Does it act as a addative multiplier to the damage of your hit reletive to the monsters ailment threshold? Simple example:
Monster has 500 ailment threshold.
You hit for 100.
You have 100% increased chance to shock.
You also have 100% more chance to shock.
Does this mean you are dealing 400 ailment threshold damage? And if so, that means you've done 80% of the monsters ailment threshold, which with 1/4 means that hit should have a 20% chance to shock, correct?
I'm just trying to figure out how it specifically works so I can get a rough estimate of how hard I need to be hitting to reliably shock things. Honestly, maybe Path and Building just shows this and I'm dumb. Lol
hopefully someone who actually knows also responds, but I think your idea of how it would work seems very reasonable, it's how I'd assume it works too, but I am not an expert at all
how is martial artist build EHP? ES/EV as usual? what about the ES recovery / ghost dance nerfs? I HATE HATE HATE dying in maps, need me a tanky boy.
Yes but if I happen to have some charges, will it still consume them to give bonuses ?
Will unarmed count as using one handed weapons, or as dual wielding? Or neither?
From my understanding it goes : try to summon a totem > If you have charges, consume them to give bonuses > If you don’t have charges, summon the totem without any benefit from charges
can someone explain this patch notes line:
Tempest Bell: Can now be Ancestrally Boosted as though it were a Strike skill
I thought ancestral boosts was for slam only
yeah, i saw that too, prolly a typo ... tempest bell kind of has a slam effect on impact
i can't figure out how unarmed behaves with one-handed or dual-wield modifiers
changes it to quarter staff, "as if"
id assume that its a single handed thing
since the dmg will come from gloves, if you're talking about martial artist right
but quarter staves are always twohanded... however facebreaker using maces which can be either
or it will be its own unique type, neither one handed ort wo handed
just unarmed
shrug idk
also with the tempest bell it says max 3 now?
isnt that an insane buff
The bells damage is lowered a little and you still need to generate the combo to throw all 3 ig
I tried the twister lvling, this playstyle seems not my cup of tea... xD so one starter down
i did the same thing, and i also found it highly annoying to play
strong, absolutely... but not my thing
strikes can also be boosted, spawning two illusions to strike other targets. bell just gets that now
Strikes can be ancestrally boosted too, it'll create clones that do the attack on nearby enemies
I assume unarmed counts as neither. same as hollow palm ignoring % damage with quarterstaves
ok. I tried it on pob and there's no effect when allocating the one-handed and two-handed weapon clusters
With shaman, how does the empty charm spirit thing work, do you still need the charm slot to be active? Or it doesnt matter
you still need the charm slots
Is Ancestral Bond affected by spirit reservation efficiency modifiers?
It should be affected by generic global ones yes
But we wont know 100% until we play it
I plan to start Pokemon Spirit Walker, but might try totem Warbringer later
So twisters is gonna be played by 90% of playerbase this league… Nice, balanced game
What's the best way to scale (chaos damage) ignites? I usually don't like playing with curses, but I guess Despair is pretty key there no?
despair is like the only major source of -res for chaos
could always blasphemy it. doubt you'd need the missing 50% effect every map
Nothing changed since 0.4 twister wise and it was only played by 2% of the playerbase. The build is just popular because of content creators..
Can someone smarter than me help me with this.
What exactly changes? I assume the spell is functionally the same.'
Will Bonestorm just crit roll one time?
You can slap the Acnestral Call Support into it now
Ignite/Flammability Magnitude, Dispair, and Wither are the only way to scale Blackflame Ignites (Ignites that do chaos damage)
for .5 which ascendency will be best for grenades you think?
Titan or Witchhunter or something else?
Did the plant oracle build got nerfed ? I plan on playing that but i am affraid of getting baited
So lets say I am not abusing cast on critical (Bcuz its OP) and I want to do a off meta build that uses all three elements and Im trying to make the terrible infusions work. Would I be using elemental Conflux or would I be using Trinity?
Depending on hidden quality on grenades it could be gemling.
Personally Id start WH for grenades just cause sorc ward gives such comfy oneshot protection
It got nerfed by virtue of ES getting nerfed, but if you just go EB+MOM its still good
Its def not bait
Probably still good as ES too just needs to fix recovery
Thanks
I played it EB/MOM last league too and it was great
In this case it's mean damage what I deal or what I get ?
damage that you deal
darn, that doesn't leave much facebreaker damage boosting nodes in the mercenary area
chat are you considered moving while using Tempest Flurry?
Can someone explain me the logic behind how this node chooses the immunity if all your gems are balanced?
It does work with all balanced gems
I checked it many times
but the way it chooses the immunities is weird
POB wont work trying to figure out Facebreaker stuff yet. Facebreaker states "Unarmed attacks that would use an equipped 1 handed mace's damage use this item's damage"
Any "Increased damage when wielding a 1 handed mace" wont do anything because you are not actually wielding it, you are "unarmed"
were grenade builds hit hard due to oil grenade change?
"Can attack as though using" means you are allowed to use the skills even though you are not wielding the item required, and are "Unarmed"
If all balanced, then nothing is majority.
So no effect
if all balanced you get 1 immunity, I have tested it many times
gem studded gives all effects during it
and this one gives one
may be it was a bug or something
but it did work
but when I swtiched weapon sets immunities changed too
while gem studded didn't
Gems in basic weapon attack of the weapon not actively equipped are inactive/not counted? Otherwise it would be a bug I guess.
that was also my first thought and I tested it with single weapon in 2 sets vs 2 weapons in each separate set
I'm still confused how it works thats why I'm asking here
but I did manage to make gem studded work while getting at least 1 immunity from that node
hmm
Oil grenade was not touched. Wyverns oil barrage was slightly nerfed
kinda was with it no longer compounding ignite
oil grenade was absolutely touched
I apologize - oil ground can no longer compound ignites. But no base changes to the oil grenade skill.
imma touch you
oil grenade as a build was only for the compounded ignites; so it is killed, it is still useful as a utility and supporting skill for grenades or other ignites other than the stacking incinerate
would the line on "Ironbound Warden Bow" of "5% increased Block Chance per 100 total Item Armour on Equipped Armour Items" be a local modifier? So the 12% or what ever on the bow becomes like 20% rather than your entire block chance going up based on that armour?
like lets say i also had +10% from another item, it wouldn't affect that other item right?
Flat sources of block chance are added together, then multiplied by "increased block chance"
Ok sec
Should be global, increasing your block chance gained from all aources
that would be nice. i just assume weapons typically are local modifiers
#2┃build-planning message @dreamy bridge
Regardless I think it's clear they want you to hit 4000 armour and cap your block with this bow alone
But you could use rearguard for a while
For the memes
ya basically im trying to figure out if rearguard is needed or if you can cap without it
it's not needed
because its pretty bad as a late game option
I would assume yes. It will try to consume, then summon regardless
ok
usually increased block chance is the multiplier on your base block, otherwise it would be "+X% to block chance per..."
i just mean that something like % Increased physical damage on a bow is only for the local damage on the bow and not your character as a whole. So i was thinking the % increased block chance would only affect the +% block chance on the bow and not the character.
oh I get it now
hmm. could be either but I'm leaning on it's a global mod
oh plus the block chance is not on the topmost section of the tooltip
it's cloudy with bows and quivers not having innate block
Guys can anyone link any warrior reactions to .5? Video / text / build doesn't matter. Any reactions would be much appreciated - feel free to share your own as well 🙂
Do you have an estimated time for Wikis/PoB update ?
how would 4k armour cap ur block with this bow

It's 6k
big thanks sir
how do u even get 6k item armour
I just roke up
that's like triple t1 armour in every prefix on every piece
well, i guess maybe a bit less this league if they're buffing armour bases a bit
t2/t1s
would need 3k armour chest and 1k on every other piece
Brass dome had 3k easily and I've had 800-900 helmets so yeah paired with the bow miscalculation it seemed entirely plausible
brass dome nerfed
Nice
well one way or another
6k is possible with great gear
rough on leaguestart tho, def need some inc block elsewhere
Is tactician a fun ascendancy to playthrough? Or will i hit a hard wall?
nah u can play tact to endgame
it's not the fastest class but has a variety of good perks and u could consider it buffed this league with the deflect changes
Tact is op with pin and spirit efficiency
Ok i will probably play as a tactician this league
thats that im looking at right now. tactician using this bow and the node that breaks armour on pin
I was thinking of doing a chronomancer monk what are yalls thoughts on that?
I think monk already gets plenty of skill speed and not enough raw increased damage, going qstaff on Sorc exemplifies that issue and leads to even less damage
Do it once you have some gear, or level with another Sorc build until you have the gear
a what now
Generally speaking you can beat the game without ever ascending, that's always been my take
chronomancer is a sorceress class
Right but use bonk stick
They mean qstaff Chrono, and if they don't I'll shut up
And freeze time
It's pretty implied despite incorrect wording
Yeah my bad lol
u can try qstaff chrono, though chrono's more friendly toward caster builds afaik
They changed the 1-60% cast speed to be skill speed so it's attracted some attackers
Ppl already enjoyed hammer resets on Chrono
It would be so cool to to just like freeze time and beat tf outta stuff
it's becoming more weapon agnostic, but there's still that spell repeat node
u can give it a go
staves are prolly decent enough with the tempest bell changes to run passably on any class
soo you want to stop time, and hit someone really fast?
Yes
where have I seen that before
Elite ball knowledge
There is now a limit on the maximum amount of damage a hit can be considered to deal for Leech. Hits that deal less than 40,000 total damage are unaffected, but if a hit would deal more than 40,000 total damage, it is treated as dealing only 40,000 damage for purposes of Leech calculation
we can say bloodmage is dead this season or what guys ?
Thoughts on the new gemling barrier skill?
BM will be fine
Recommend imjustanthony for that, he plays SC and HC, trade and groupfound, and is already prepping for Bloodmage with Atziris and Choir. Business as usual 😎
Is there a way besides Strugglescream to gain a second Instilled Notable?
Or are there any alternatives to instilling if I am just looking to have 2 specific Notables on the tree where I just can not path to reasonably?
If I have the Amazon node that doubles evasion rating from gloves/helm/boots
And I also have Iron Reflexes converting my evasion rating to armour
Do I get double armour from my helm/glove/boots?
Ex:
With a Helm with 1k evasion Do I get:
1k armour
2k armour
1k armour and 1k evasion?
I plan on league starting ancestral totems(with sunder main totem skill) shaman/titan can't decide. Any opinions? I see a lot of people run shaman on poe.ninja and I believe its for the rage, and slightly less phys/ele dmg taken but I believe titan is stronger. Unsure why so many people playing on shaman, and no its not for ancestral totem which is what I originally thought.
could be good for life stacking? tho idk any life stackers that can be good on non-bloodmage chars. maybe that one corrupted blood buckler?
either 1k or 2k armour, depending on if the conversion happens before or after the doubling
you should get double armour the same way you get double evasion yes
iron reflexes is the last in the order
megalomaniac
isn't it different from how it works in poe1? I remember that being the case
I'm sure there are some differences from poe1, but nothing points out for it to not convert the amazon nodes properly
I just realized that one of the notables in question can not be instilled and is also not on Megalomaniac 🙁
Thanks for the hint though!
which one is it?
they should all be
unless its a big node
like unwavering stance
It is one of those in the starting locations of a class which non of can be instilled apparently.
In my case it is "Hard to kill"
Poggers
Thanks
I wanted to have a fast Life Flask.
Well I am in PoB and not ingame so it might be a mistake of PoB? But non of the starting notables have the option in PoB:
yeah I just checked too
may be its a pob problem
but that would be very weird if its actually the case
I will check in-game now if it has emotions on it or not
"Now" Game is loading forever since I was not on for months.
will the new facebreaker work with quarterstaff skills if i use hollow palm too?
Not possible in-game as well
damn, thats interesting
It costs me 7 passive points to path there 🙁
Are they maybe generally stronger than other notables to give a bit of a boost early or somethiong like this?
they don't seem to be
there is a one thing I can think of
for example witch start has different nodes (same place)
for sorc and for witch
Oh really? Did not know that one.
may be they planned to do different starting nodes for dual starting classes
same place
different nodes
witch vs sorc
I guess thats the reason why we cant anoint them
honestly not a fan of it
but this at least explains the anoint thing
wish they colored them a bit differently or something
for visibility
tbf the tree is extremly colourful already.
well may be like a "zone" color
or whatever
blueish background for sorc
purpleish background for witch
you wouldn't notice it anyways
dunno I think I would
@neon hinge why do you even need it this much, are you giga stacking regen?
or flasks
I am at least trying around with it to see if it can be viable at all
kitava smith?
Infernalist.
normal demon form or unlimited?
ye makes sense
But right now I have neither a good max hit nor good dps.
Unlimited.
I have been trying to make a build with the "Your Life flask is applied constantly but you have 48% less life Recovery from Flasks body.
I tried with mask of the stitched demon
what about amazon and then either archmage or indigon?
Both have pretty much the same reason
I am not familiar enough with thte game to know about their existence.
oh wait no indigon doesn't work
so it would just be archmage
or attack amazon with mind over matter
Yeah I was about to say that after I just looked up the Item.
maybe mind of the council
it's also nice on amazon since you can stack a pretty stupid amount of evasion with the chest with this
Is mind of the Council enough to hard carry dps if all my points are in Life Flask recovery, maximum Mana and a mix of bit increased damage and any defensive stat?
no but this would be different to the infernalist setup
how does bell work if its ancestrally boosted? is it for the 1 hit or the entire bell
with the infernalist demon form you're stacking as much recovery as possible
with this you just need enough recovery
How so? Where does the damage scalers come from?
my guess is entire bell but we find out next week
standard damage scalers
the difference is just that the setup doesn't gain much by stacking regen after it has enough for recovery and mana cost purposes
that would be cool. but i did use the monk skill before giving it a bunch of chaos damage for combo consuming and im pretty sure that was lost after the first hit. but yeah cant confirm anything for this
Any attack you can recommend to use? I have no clue about attacks.
I would assume it would do the triple bell boost since it's just a standard ancestral boost. since it's sustained it might only boost the damage of the initial summon hit
first thought is something spear related since spear base damage is so ass so they'd get a lot from mind of the council, maybe with tangletounge
I haven't played spears so idk what spear skills are good
maybe this works then? and you use it on a boss. maybe in rituals or something huge
twisters I think. lightning spear is gutted and now pretty average
Ok i will look what spear attacks exist.
nothing says it won't work, looks like. would have to be a fire build first
What about the Elemetnal Surge. Are the numbers viable?
But I do not even know how to generate Charges so that might be tricky.
i did try a build last league with fan the hammer and whirling assault and it takes 2 packs to get all the glory. maybe i have to revisit XD it was fun but i couldnt force myself to play the endgame
I'd go try huntress right now. get a feel for it. there's early ways to generate charges, a good place to get familiar with the mechanic
I sadly do not have much time on my hands until start. I would probably just get to Act 3 or something.
yeah understandable
Good thing I tried to price check the spear I had in mind to see how obtainable it is lol. First one starts at 800 Div XD
I even only searched for suffixes.
3 T2 Suffixes seem to be extremly hard to get.
attack speed, crit chance and Crit damage are by far the best for a build that gets its flat damage from another source so I thought I could get those on the weapon if I do not care for prefixes.
those are universally good mods so it's gonna be expensivce
Explosive Spear with Elemental Surge sounds fun.
Hmm. Somehow it seems that there is no reliable way to generate Frenzy Charges to continuesly utilize that Ascendancy. It seems I either have to cull enemies with Cull the Weak or Parry and consume the Parry Debuff.
It has been a bit since I played so I do not remember, and I cannot find it spelled out anywhere: Is the maximum number of skill gems shared between weapon sets, or can you have a different skill assigned to each set?
For example, if I had four skills shared between two sets, could I then have five other skills on set 1 and a different five skills on set 2? Or is the cap shared?
combat frenzy gives frenzy charges, but only on electrocute, pin, and freeze. you could also take resonance (near the two diamonds north) and get a source of endurance charges
shared between weapon sets. you can have a max of 9 skill gems + unset rings
Ah, well, that is a little less interesting than I was hoping, but I can work with it.
So what's a build in the upcoming patch that could realistically use the archon buffs? I really enjoy their visuals and concept in general but the downtime is such a bummer
imo it's between stormweaver and oracle
stormweaver can have 2 rainbowstorms at a time with no downside
oracle has a big archon node with crit dmg & chance, but also slows the recovery period
@west wharf hey was it you who tested spears in 0.4 or something? do you know how strong spear skills are?
Do we think Gemling will be a better Sorc than Sorc with the updates?
What even is a good pob dps? My attempt at an attack build right now only has 28k dps.
uh
i mean spears aren't awful but
spears themselves aren't incredibly league-start friendly
they're 1h so they have pretty low dmg but high AS, u generally need pretty good rings with high flat rolls on them to make spears shine
maybe twister is strong enough for none of that shit to matter
cus it's the fastest campaign in the game atm
so i assume it's good enough to bridge u into endgame at the very least (probably stays good too)
outside of perhaps twister i would say the other spear skills need a bit more budget to shine
How to make my totems charges mines ?
fair enough, thanks

this is where the build ended up if u want visual example
but it would not move as fast as this in 0.5
as pounce got a cd nerf and atziris impatience no longer works on blink
so rather than spearfield>pounce blink > repeat it would probably be spearfield > pounce > spearfield > blink > repeat
and it's with endgame gear ofc, not leaguestart
but overall quite good scaling potential in terms of gameplay speed/fluidity, fun to play
sceptre offhand lets u fit strong spirit stuff easily
thanks, I am just weighing up my options, still picking a build. did you pick one?
yes
but i don't know if you want to follow it
because it's quite meme and has a high chance of failing
lol
what is it?
dodgeroll stag walker
question: with the new ring that converts bleed damage into fire damage, can you have both an ignite and a bleed on an enemy dealing fire damage at the same time?
yes
nice
lol have fun

peep my endgame amulet
impressive i know
u can find it in a trashcan near u
How do resonance work ? If i'm generating power charge and transform them to endurance charges, what do the game use, maximum endurance charges or power charges ? And how do effects like 25% chance when you gain an endurance charge to gain an additional endurance charges work ?
only the source changes.
+max frenzy will stay frenzy after resonance
additional power turns into endurance
what's the best way for me to generate frenzy charges if i wanna run an explosive spear build?
cull the weak, sniper's mark for non-resonance
armour break, enduring impact for resonance
ok, thanks
any sunder builds floating around?
where can i find the answer regarding which is calculated first: a heavy stun hit or it's damage
cause if i heavy stun an enemy on first hit and the damage is calculated after the heavy stun proc then it means that the 10% damage bonus from Intimidated will be applied all on that same first hit
the hit that applies x does not benefit from x
Anybody play hollow play last in 0.4 and used tempest flurry for movement?
ok thanks
Anyone know how to find totem life in POB? I saw a post saying it is in calcs but cannot find it.
oh how i wish i knew how to edit POB to make it convert bleed damage from phys to fire so i can see a bit better how much damage i would do
chatgpt doing the heavy lifting for build creation
for an item like ironguard does it only apply block chance up to your cap for the extra dmaage?
Patch notes looks promising, but the patch notes are susceptible to changes before 0.5 launch, martial artist's full ascendency is still being cooked, so I'd like to ask, what's a good lvling skill to fall back to for act 1? So far glacial cascade + frozen locust is good, but I feel that it could be a lot better
X physical damage is being 100% converted to fire
you have 100% increased physical damage and 100% increased fire damage dealt
will the calculation doble dip into both increases?
so they don't double dip at all?
In PoE2 Conversion happens as the very first step afaik.
I see, that makes sense
I just thought that it only affects "damage as extra"
that doesnt scale at all
or rather it does, but from different sources
True, but add physical damage and #% increased phys damage on weapon specifically, are calculated before conversion
thats because they're local
Yep. My wording was missing something like "For the sake of damage calculation".
how much different is it to "as extra" wording?
whats the default maximum block chance?
50%
Can i use herald of ash with hallow palm?
would bonuses on rings work on the prized pain ring changes? it give 15-25% chance for thorns to proc on melee hit, so would ingenuity or ritualist boost that chance?
Am I right in assuming evasion/deflection lend themselves well to the new chronomancer Phased Form? Kind of a failsafe for big hits that deflection doesn't slap down with its DR?
post its wording please
So I've now gotten around to looking at shock in Path of Building, and is does indeed work how I had asked about before, pretty much exactly. I've been confused about it for a while and didn't really think to just look at the calculations on PoB. lol
It now has 15-25% chance to deal your Thorns damage to enemies you Hit with Melee Attacks. Existing items are not affected by this change.
seems like it should, both ingenuity and ritualist nodes
feels like we'll have a version of thorns that doesnt even need to get hit or use pale king
Has anyone seen any theorycrafted Facebreaker + Hollow Palm builds? I've been working on something and want to see what else is out there.
Hi, will fireballs cast from a spell totem still consume your fire infusions? Thanks.
there was a thorns build that worked on rapid shot in like 0.2, it was a gattling gun thorns
was fun
they should not
oh thats interesting
i saw some theorycrafting with hollow form and thorns with the prized pain
with meridians it should be even stronger as well
I see, ty
i think volls protector should make it work quite well
lose a bit of thorns on the chest, but thorns crit means you can probably keep it up
would the hollow form crits work with it though? or would it be only your own crits
How much will I suffer from oneshots with these max hits? I have pretty much no clue about damage in endgame. Can this take some hits from Bosses or juiced maps?
I wonder if thorns damage is rolled for crit separately if its applied with an attack, it technically should
but not sure
probably 2 separate calcs
its 2 separate i think
depends on the build, heavily
yeah thats a proper way of thinking about triggering them
part of why thorns doesnt work with attack leech
also why dreadfist is so good with it
cause you can easily crit with thorns but not the attack itself
Uhm. That kinda does not tell me much. Assume a spell Caster?
well at least melee vs range
I have played with twice less than that
in giga juiced endgame
but it was an ice build
with freezes
Currently my Spells that I plan to cast are not fix and the damage type is not fixed either. But I am critting so they are most likely cold. Also self cast.
i wonder what helmets i could use if i dont even need pale king
never really considered it
Frost Bolt and Frost Wall are currently selected.
So these Numbers seem to be at least somewhat endgame ready assuming solid recovery of the Pool.
I wish I could answer that, but it really comes down to "depends"
you can fix any tank problems with damage
I ran roughly similar numbers for a while in 0.4 (mana stacking), and could handle most things easily except big boss phys attacks. Monkey and citadels were especially painful, but everything else was easy with enough damage. This was a Lightning Warp build, so technically a spellcaster but not really ranged.
I was going to try an ES/EV build this league since it looked like Ghost Dance mostly survived, but the latest patch note update hit it much harder. Is it as dead as it looks?
I wanna do the jce shot deadye from fubgun, would constricting commander Viper cap be good for that build, and then taking the attack dmg while surrounded?
oil barrage isnt nerfed that hard like this channel wa saying the other day
still a boss killer without much gear
is there any way to make a spell consume infusions if it doesnt normally
good build guys?
any uniques or anything other than the 5% on the passive tree or gemling that give extra quality?
diallas desire
theres a suffix desecration that gives 3-5% quality of all skills for amulets
In the gemling showcase they had 53%
no more qual on tree:
The Cunning Fox Notable Passive Skill has been replaced with The Quick Fox, which grants 20% increased Deflection Rating while moving. The small all Attribute Passives prior to the Notable now grant 20% increased Evasion Rating while moving.
can anyone explain Temporal Rift for me, Why does it say "Maximum 16 afterimages" Whats the point of the other 15 if it just goes back to last one when used? Do the Afterimages do anything else than just being a savepoint?
just noticed the maximum quality tag says Maximum quality cannot be raised above 30%...skill gems are listed under it..i'm assuming skill gems can go above 30% though
u can get them over 30 im 99% sure
and https://poe2db.tw/us/Fox_Idol#FoxIdolTalismanFox will be 5% quality but limited to 1
Place into an empty Augment Socket in a Body Armour or Sceptre to apply its effect to that item. Once socketed it cannot be retrieved but can be replaced by other Augment items.
This fireball has a lot 🤔
alright i've gotten the to 48% with everything mentioned in game, wonder if there is a new unique that also gives quality like ashes of the stars
23% gem base, 16% gemling tree, 5% fox idol, 5% desecration suffix
They removed the 10% from gemling right
nerfed the support so idk how this one has so much qual
they have +22% quality from global modifiers +5% quality from support and 23% base gem quality in the video
is it possible to desecrate +2% Strength (or any attribute) on a Sapphire jewel? On poe2db it shows it but not letting me add it to the craft section
5% of that global is probably amulet suffix, 5% fox idol and then an extra 12% coming from somewhere maybe they raised the small gemling nodes to 4% qual each
yes
thanks

I'm torn guys between trying the new
Martial Artist Channel shit
Going Grenadier Witchhunter Or Gemling For New Grenade Unique Added
OR Try the new Spirt Ascendancy with Twisters for + Proj ....
Hmmmmmmmm Help
Can we still get Eternal Rage as a skill gem?
with shock conduction 2 being removed, what are some good ways to apply shock for spell builds?
i want to play a stormweaver next patch
I have a question for a build idea for .5. Build will be based off the oracle coc build. How important is the spellslinger and sceptre to the build.
If someone could dm me about it I would like to ask a few questions for someone that is fimilar with the build
All of the normal ways, mostly being lots of lightning damage, ball lightning, and lightning warp's ground effect
Alright where's the image someone always has of the new ascendancy showing all its stuff
"The Radiant Grief Unique Helmet now has Enemies in your Presence are Ignited as though dealt 200 Base Fire Damage (previously 100)"
Am i right in assuming this item still isnt going to ignite enemies immediately? the current version you have to stand near enemies for a long time before they actually ignite, thanks to how ignite works on non-hit items like this
Is there anyway to convert physical damage to 100% fire damage?
Damn now I'm torn, martial artist looked dope
not 100%, but avatar of fire converts 75% of damage to fire, and then you do 0 non fire damage
25% damage loss tho 🙁 sad
yeah, thats a lot of damage to give up
My current options:
- Varshta, chill minion DMG
- Martial artist
- Uncapped demon form with the faster recoup passive nodes
- Indigon quipolatl, since it wasn't nerfed, but I'm hoping for a super high mana cost spell or something that can be triggered a ton with archmage for it, using the reworked totem node to make them cost nothing
witch plants into infernalist spell totems
For 4, either pathfinder, gemling or oracle perhaps
Can work on invoker too i bet
My hope is that if i find a way to really dump a ton of mana outside of mana tempest i can make pathfinder work with it
(if anyone has ideas on this ping me)
what endgame mechanic would benefit the most from many immunities like curses, crits, poison, bleed and shit like that?
why are so many of these players using herald of ice/armour explosion with no source of physical damage in their build? are poe2 players that shit at their game that they just blindly throw things together in their build with no knowledge of the systems or am i missing an inexplicably hidden source of phys damage?
Explore builds and passive tree heatmaps of Fate of the Vaal.
they have no x as phys, no uul-netol
Fox Idol now has a limit of 1. It now grants Other Socketed Idols in this item also grant their Bonded Modifiers when socketed in Body Armours (previously +2% to Quality of all Skills). The Bonded Modifier now grants +5% to Quality of all Skills when socketed in Body Armours (previously +4 to all attributes).
^ do we think this applies to itself or no since it says other socketed idols
does ricochet not work with molten blast?
"also" implies "on top of their normal effects" not for itself
so I assume it doesn't
stonefist gloves looking insane for a 2 pointer. pretty sure martial artist is the best caster?
flat crit, charge generation, onslaught on hit
What do you think will happen to facebreaker if you take way of stonefist? Change the str scaling to dex?
Where flat crit?
Oh but power charge on crit sounds cool
i figured it out the players are just terrible
for example there was a player that bought a rite of passage with the wrong animal on it
clearrly just heard "you need rite of passage" and stopped listening
Im 95% sure to league start hollowed palm way of the stonefist facebreaker
once again i have received confirmation this is a babymode easy game
flat crit, onslaught on hit, and godlike defenses
these gloves feel better than a whole gemling
I wonder how the passive will interact with facebreakers
3% flat crit is nice but spellcasters dont get any other support
yes
and is notoriously hard to get for bossing
also atk speed
Yeah ok gloves with 3% flat crit 20% cast speed and 2 ascendancy points there way stronger casters
the more ES and EV stat is insane
can anyone suggest a good str stacker build for me?
I want to go hollow form facebreakers and just use mace skills but now I'm scared the glove passive may brick the gloves
The passive which changes the stats gloves give may remove the mace attack line on facebreakers
tbh the stonefist howa looks pretty solid
they changed that one to dex
so face breakers maybe? but if they just straight up make it scale per dex or change it to quarterstaff, this will be martial artist league
I guess so
rare gloves hollow form will for sure be good though
Even if it still works for maces but the scaling changes to dex it will be extremely strong
Yeah if you wanna go maces than just do smth else than monk
I think str scaling i better tho you can get CRAZY amounts of es with str stacking and timeless jewel than es and evasion stacking for giga tank and dmg
I'll hold on to copium and just figure it out like I do every league
why are all the tp builds for any class comet builds LOL
are they gonna change that next update or nah
Are there any currencies or anything that affect infusions?
what are you talking about? There many more builds than just comet
question, how minion builds look like right now in 0.4?
Do cold infused frost shards pierce if you give it pierce? or do they always lodge?
When do you think we can switch to companion leveling with spirit walker?
soon as you do the first trial
Is there any way that sunder could work well with hollow form?…
Sending out a bajillion sunders sounds funny
any way to fix my lack of dmg?
Do the volatile vaal orbs still exist this coming patch?
Yes, and they are buffed as well.
They now no longer divine the item first.
Means you do need a perfect item first, but still.
someone know how loyalty support works with those tons of companions?
https://pobb.in/qQUXgvkrPHir shield wall 'gutted' btw
Just did the math and you can reasonably afford to get the Hollow Focus bells to spawn at 0.71 second intervals through CDR
I can't wait to test if Temporalis makes Hollow Resonance have no cooldown
Can you do unarmed attacks in werewolf and bear forms?
No, they require the talisman to transform, and therefore your weapon slots aren't empty
Keep in mind that nothing in the Martial Artist ascendancy is unarmed-only
Even the gloves are just different gloves, no unarmed required
How does Varashta's Intuition (VI) interact with CI? Does ES need to break before VI does anything or will VI make elemental damage go to mana while I still have ES?
You typically take es before life anyways, so it just interjects in the middle
ES -> Mana -> Life
How useful is that if physical damage would still kill me when ES goes down?
Like do you ever really take ONLY elemental damage?
Not very, unless you're converting all physical to chaos or elemental
If you dropped to 0 ES physical damage would still instakill you with CI
How would one convert 100% of physical damage to elemental? MOM would make VI redundant.
There isn't a way currently in the game as far as I'm aware
But there's enough generic mana before life that you don't have to take Varashta's
You can reach 100% between various sources on tree and gear, or just take Mind Over Matter
Currently Varashta's is used (as far as I can tell) for relegating the largest hits in the game (elemental hits) to applying to both life and mana, while keeping smaller hits on just life
Thanks. I'm trying to make a Varashta's ED/C build as tanky as Lich. I'm struggling lol.
Or plants.
There's the Storm Driven cluster that recoups ele damage as ES. I feel like that has some potential, but I don't think it would be fast enough to save me from even the tiniest phys damage.
The best use case in this instance would be either scaling life, es, and mana, or just getting generic mana before life
I can't really see a use case for Varashta's beyond "holy shit that massive fire slam hit me, time to use all 3 health pools instead of 2"
just wanted to see if hollow palm keystone would work
Sadly I don't think so, there's no shapeshifted abilities that don't require a talisman as far as I know
Looking through all of the bear/wolf/wyvern skills all of them require something in weapon slot
So face breaker won't really stack with hollow palm for monk, for the most part, but the 1% more unarmed per 5 str should stack with hollow palms unarmed quarterstaff attacks, right?
Yeah, the more damage isn't local, it's global
I don't think I've ever seen a local "more" modifier
Hm.. Wonder how much str you can juice into monks side without giving up int/Eva hybrid items
The sad part of Facebreakers + Hollow Palm is that Quarterstaff and One Handed Mace skills have practically 0 overlap in mechanics
There's also potential face breaker just gets changed by monks glove passive to synergize with monk better, but for the sake of theory crafting
I'm considering some str and % more unarmed dmg being better than Eva or int on gloves for hollow palm stats
I mean you can run hollow palm without fists of stone with facebreakers if fists of stone just bricks them
I couldn't manage to make a build with str stacking hollow palm, but I've never been good at attribute stacking so it's probably both possible and good
Yeah I'm feeling the gloves will be mostly bricked, but in a scenario where you've already got a decent bit of eva/es from say, all your other items
I'm feeling even 200 str, for 40% more unarmed dmg should just be better, no?
And 200 str feels achievable easily
Realistically you can just do rage + str stack + ev/es gear on hollow palm and the innate multiplier from those alone would be insane
200 is piss easy, but 40% more is bad when your defences are split three ways across arm/ev/es
Well true, but in this scenario you're still basically eva/es, just saccing glove spot for the dps amp
Alternatively just focus even harder on str than I could manage and go for Titan or Smith for % str and go to like 400
Then it's 80% and you're scaling insane melee and rage locally, and grabbing hollow palm on a long branch
I couldn't manage 400 str but I've seen people already do it for other reasons
Mm I see, conversely is hollow palms crit and ats modifier
Not locked to quarterstaff skills?
Is it just anything unarmed?
The way I read hpt I thought all of it was locked solely to quarter skills used while unarmed
So here's what you do, Hollow Palm for base damage and Quarterstaff skill availability. QS skills have significantly more shenanigans available on support gems. Then be Titan for 8% increased Str and 50% increased small passives. Scale only armor, don't bother with attack speed/crit scaling on hollow palm (other methods sure, but not the hollow palm scaling), scale strength/rage/armour->ele, then you have a tanky quarterstaffer with great base damage, insane % more, and the tied-for-best melee skills in the game
The facebreakers base damage won't matter, but the % more unarmed and the +# armor per strength will carry your defenses like crazy if you grab a little % armour on tree for defenses (which is boosted by the 50%)
The real problem is doing any good scaling while actually bum-rushing str
Someone more familiar with attribute stacking would probably make a cracked build out of this
Yah, though possibly face breaker helps make up for that
With its base damage and % more
Well unless you're using one handed mace skills it does nothing in regards to base damage, the % more and the +# armour is great though
That seems plausible yeah, I just really liked some of the martial artist asc reveals and was starting to wonder. Though again there's a possibility that the asc can change face breaker to just benefit monk more
Than it's base self does too
If that makes it better than other gloves? Who knows
Yeah, looking on PoE Ninja for life builds brought this insane str value to light
Oh jeez lol
In this case that'd be 481% more
So for the sake of argument, it should be quite possible to get a monk to like what, approx 1.7k?
Again, some people are crazy with attribute stacking
If that was the goal
I had no idea str got that high already tbh
I figured low or mid 1k was probably the ceiling
Even on titan or smith
I would say monk is closer to 1.4k to it's max
Titan is especially stupid at stacking anything if you focus it hard enough
And that 2.4k str was on a titan
Is it really that huge of a difference though? 8% +50% more on small passives doesn't feel like it'd be more than like a 600 boost at max but I'd have to see the tree I guess haha
That titan was the highest str on-record in standard rn
I'll dig into it over the next few days
Here's the guy's build
https://poe.ninja/poe2/builds/standard/character/Moon45262-8545/Cursed_Moon_Blood?i=0&search=sort%3Dlife
Regardless I did honestly think only like 500 would be true max while still having 200ish int/dex for a monk
So close to 1.5k sounds huge to me. More huge than just being 2.5k? That's the real question and math needing to be worked out lol
Realistically getting more than 1.4k on even titan is going to be INSANELY expensive
For monk as a realistic even 100-div build is going to be like 600 str with 200 int/dex
At which point 120% more damage is already insane on a monk
Personally I go for builds that are extremely abstract and don't actually function when I get them online
So I'm more familiar with esoteric building techniques than actually good building ones
looking at the es ev gloves shown in showcase i dont think we need facebreaker
for monk
with hollow palm
does anyone know how these 2 interact with eachother or if they even work together?
also mountains teaching gives more dmg per stack?
It's a use-case scenario for facebreakers on monk. You might want to use one-handed mace skills instead of quarterstaff skills one day, and you'll be able to use Hollow Palm for insane attack speed and base crit while benefitting from damage on facebreakers
They should work together, but if your crit chance is low enough bifurcated will add almost nothing
in what sense do they work together is what im wondering, like am i guaranteed 2x crit on hit with the reduced dmg from rerolling or what
inevitable crits isnt supported by pob... ofc
Let's say you have 50% crit chance (the max for the only source of bifurcated rn), you have inevitible, and you have 300% crit multi.
If you fail the first crit 1 time on a 50/50 (50% crit chance), then you get a crit 240% crit multi on the hit
It might with the changes caused got Fists of Stone
If Treefingers turns Giant's Blood into Hollow Palm, then It can Change Facebreaker to use Quarterstaff skills
If you fail the 2nd crit roll 1 time, then you double your crit damage bonus, but now it's 392% crit instead of the 900% it would've been. Because you've gotten 2 "30% less crit damage bonus" rolls, and double crit bonus
@rare cairn
So the more that you fail, the less effective the double effect of crit bonus, but the crit bonus only occurs 25% of the time if you have 50% crit chance
You'll always land the double crit bonus, but it will be a complete gamble on whether or not it's worth it
Anyone know what totem build Tatiantel was theory crafting in his stream last night
Lightning damage crits basically
yeah that makes sense
A hyper-gambler would do bifurcated inevitible crits with a lightning build
Sometimes they hit for 10 sometimes they hit for 20 mil
Nebuloch doesn't, but should consume 2 endurance charges
it does get double crit
It'd be less incredibly funny
people run those things together for a reason
I'm talking about the charge consumption not the crit effect
nah the end charge consumption is on attack usage
Yeah that's true, it's not on crit roll
it's just 'this attack crits regardless of rolls' so it goes nuts with bifurcate
one of the things making nebuloch shield wall still stupid strong
Inb4 they make Nebuloch have +100% base crit chance instead in 1.0
Quecholli already has that, but loses the Crit Damage
"Has 100% crit chance" and "+100% base crit" are different effects
"Is 100% crit chance" means it can't go below 100%
I was assuming you meant +100% as "More" and not "Increased"
Nah, +100% base crit as in the base 5% chance becomes a modifiable 105% base crit
So the "50% maximum crit chance" would function for both
For different reasons
Odds are the most realistic nerf to Nebuloch is going to be multi related though
Hmm. i doubt they would make that change, since the whole point of it currently is predicated on endurance charges, which has a downside of taking chaos damage.
They love their upside+Downside
100 chaos damage over time per endurance charge is nothing lol
True, but You only crit on consuming one, making it +100% base would negate the purpose of the Enduracnce charge lines/usage
You could also just make it +100% base to attacks (globally) so that the current function still happens, but drawbacks mechanics on other things also still function
Because the only reason it is as ludicrously strong as it is, is due to its ability to negate the one downside to Bifurcated which is already insanely strong with the downside
It probably would be easier to make it "Attacks consume an Endurance Charge to Roll a Critical Hit" implying a singular Critical Roll
In the case of +100% base crit to global attacks it'd still buff shield wall like crazy
I mean in that instance it would just consume 2 endurance charges, which isn't really an issue on shield wall builds
Generating endurance charges is really easy
Sure but it would fix the issue of getting 2 crits from 1 endurance charge, and slightly balance it.
It wouldnt be build braking, obviously
I'ma be real chief, that wouldn't even affect the current builds
Like sure it wouldn't break the current builds
But that change also wouldn't even be an ant on its foot
It is a good idea for other reasons though
It could prevent unintendend shenanigans later on in development though
The reality is just that nebuloch is broken right now, and I think it should be an "appreciate it while it lasts" scenario as an early access thing
Not that GGG is immune to post 1.0 mistakes
PoE 1's history is a wild ride of broken interactions
Always fun
I remember my 58 attacks per second flicker strike in Betrayal league
Good times
Skills roll for crit once ... And then every hit is either crit or not based on that one roll ... That's globally how it works
Nebuloch just makes that roll 100%
Bifurcate rolls twice
You should probably read the context of the conversation. We're talking about Nebuloch's interaction with Bifurcated making it so you always roll double crit multi
Oh
Lol
Ye they should just guaruntee the first crit and then rng the second crit under bifu rules
or guaruntee both for 2 charges
Actually it'd be more accurate to say twice crit multi instead of double
Because 300% crit multi becomes 900%
Not 600%
Crit multiplier multiplier
Literally yeah
XD
500% crit multi becomes 2500% because of this btw
ic
tbf the other way they can nerf nebuloch is by removing enraged warcry support
Honestly a bad decision for unrelated reasons
Can Oracle passive make bifurcate go past 50%?
Yeah I was talking about this WAY earlier
It just becomes lightning damage rolls, but for crit multi
Insanely high and low crit multi
I see ... Thought it would need to be guaranteed crit mechanics to bypass it lel
It is guaranteed crits, but the less crit damage modifiers make it potentially really low multi
Oh wait I'm dumb
It rerolls crit until it crits ... So it would just keep rerolling the 50% cap
Until it passed
It rerolls the 50% over-and-over until it succeeds, then does it again for the 2nd crit chance roll
Ye
So you get like 101% crit multi or the double, but its a gamble every time
Lol
On the bright side, crit chance becomes even more of a damage modifier, and you always have a chance of twice-ing your crit multi even with 5% crit chance
Like I mentioned before, the ultimate gambling build is a Lightning Damage Inevitable Bifurcated Crits build
Where you scale nothing but damage, and no crit chance
You can just walk up to any boss and you might instakill it
don't forget supercritical
Supercritical would be more interesting if it were 60% more like pinpoint
they'd have to bump up the chance penalty to like 90% less
It'd only result in 12% more crit chance and 12% more crit multi if they were the same values but flipped modifiers
Which for 2 supports isn't great
It's good, but not great
60% more crit chance with 30% less crit chance is a 1.12x multiplier for crit chance
we have that one mace for guaranteed crit
Maybe you can help with this @next aurora. The New Horrors Flight gloves give 100% Culling threshold at 10 stacks, Combined with the 100% from Myris Uxor's, and the change to Normals being culled at 35% Health, means 35*(1+2), would be 105% Health or Full Health Culling of Normals...
Horrors Flight's skill Crushing Fear is considered a quarterstaff skill, so What would you build for Bossing, since Culling Strikes are the clear
I'm thinking about the averages of builds not the cracked ones that will likely be changed in the future
Oh yeah I've been workshopping a culling build since they added Myris
It works
Now that Horrors Flight is added it's great actually
You can get 24.8% culling strike threshold against uniques, and guaranteed against normal and magic monsters
Single target is where it breaks down obviously
Killing Palm for Mapping, Cause it "performs additional dashing Strikes to other Cullable targets in range if your target was Culled." making it a psudo Flicker, whil gaining power charges
You still have to do (at worst on witch hunter) 70% of a boss' life before it can get culled
And rares become annoying, but are still doable
Bossing is just rough
But the clear on maps
It seems so golden
If you play Witch Hunter, and go for Weapon Master instead of J,J,E then you can have a bossing weapon and a culling/clear weapon
Though keep in mind that Witch Hunter is getting massively nerfed defensively in 0.5
Any culling skill is good in this instance tbh
Any culling skill on witchhunter
If you're going killing palm you're doing monk
Realistically the best culler is any build that deals hits passively as you walk through packs
Both the Helm and Gloves are only Evasion so anything in the bottom/right side would potentiall work
While playing Witch Hunter
It has to be bottom middle/bottom right due to the cull nodes
Also, keep in mind that the tree structure is changing and we don't know what it looks like
true
Which is literally the only reason i gave up on the build
The second I load in I'm going back to theorycrafting while I sit in town
I was thinking Martial Artist with teh new mini Bells, could work, since you could Cull them with Crushing Fear for Chaos Shockwaves and Empowered Sparks since you get a Frenzy Charge
Ignore tying to max out the Culling threshold, and instead add extra aoe to bring other rarities down to culling level
You've got 3 options for culling strike as a build though
- Martial Artist so that initial hits (which are also crits) trigger the bell on your back, bringing enemies in culling range automatically
- Witch Hunter, you get Culling Strike on any skill that hits, and have your entire tree as weapon set points to create a bossing build and a clear build simultaneously
- Titan, which allows for culling strike + stun shenanigans at higher values and allow for tangential investment
One unknown is what happens to Horrors Flight with Fists of Stone
Culling builds already worked before, but were kind've annoying. Now they're just really good.
I can't wait to see tbh
Facebreakers and Horrors Flight are the gloves I'm keeping my eyes on
Also Deathblow
They have the opportunity to make the Deathblow gloves really interesting
It'd be interesting to see something like "% more attack speed per enemy culled recently, up to a maximum"
I'm still so confused on Abyssal Lich's purpose rn though
I've spent probably 40+ hours just looking at it and trying stuff out in PoB
I know its a lot of Uniques, but Myris+Horror's Flight+The Auspex+The Raven's Flock as a "Bird" build seems kinda thematic
It'd probably work pretty well, but the main problem with that is the Birds from the skills are untargetable minions
Meaning your cull doesn't apply
It would also gimp resistances hard
Resistances can be shenaniganed on tree
It does say your culling threshold
Neat
It'd be RF cull clear with command skill bossing
But other the other note
I think I've finally found an undying hate build
RF doesnt Cull though or use your Cull unless you are witchhunter i guess
Quick question is poisonburst still a good build for 0.5? As I've been wanting to try it
Think it got nerfed but cant remember without checking
The RF wouldn't cull even on witch hunter
