If you want a big change on dps side, look for a big % increased phys damage and flat adds phys damage, attack speed and crit chance. The + level of the skill isn't really recommanded for monk

I'm on a damage plateau between 3 choices:
Against the Darkness with 3% cold
Quiver with cold damage, +2 skill, dex, proj speed, speed
Pure phys bow with 450+ dps
Playing a herald build, got cold rolled on bow and quiver atm, don't know if the Against the darkness alone will be enough to keep the Herald of Ice proc'ing. Made my tree as pure damage as a I could, based on the tooltips. There are some 4 - 6 extra points to redistribute.

There's a node that heals you by consuming one, and then there's the charge spirit gem ghat gives you global defences for having one

Hello guys! Ok, so... I've been using this helmet for a very long time on my Invoker. I'm now at level 82 and I'm resistance capped on everything except Chaos.
My question to you is; What stats do I idéally want on a helmet for an Invoker(?) that uses Ice Strike as main damage? Not sure if stats on helmets can affect Ice Strike or if it matters, but I thought I'd mention it anyway.
P.S My damage is "ok-ish" but I am SO squishy 😦

Equipping the right side item drops my DPS by a bit. Is cast speed really that beneficial?

chances are - its because you do. If you arent opposed to trading with other people - a quick weapon upgrade could do the trick. Or check your vendors look for some upgrades and craft them yourself

charged staff isnt a support gem
but its level 9 which is level 31 required - so you should start seeing them soon
Do a couple clears of a previous zone - preferably with a boss in it, and farm a little bit of additional currency to further craft your items - or hit the trade site

it would stack with shock, but not multiplicative, they are both the same increase "% damage taken" so it'd be like 20% chill 20% shock = 40% increase

Probably Infernalist Minions of some kind, this guide is for the arsonists. I did this at launch and its a great build! you can tweak it and stuff but this is a good jumping off point. heavily discourage you playing SSF then. Trade solves so many issues related to time constraints - and a lack of deterministic crafting in SSF means your only option is heavy time investment to find gear on the ground thats good

the first point of a specific barrier drains from your overall point still, from 24 to 7 you had weapon set 2 already applied which means those points were already spent
it doesnt give you more points

but the weapon set doesnt
its just a final 24 points that can go either direction

That makes some sense but I'm confused in so far as, in your example, what does that minimal mean? All of the stats add up to 34 total resistance?

you give each point of a stat a weight, the minimum weight your looking for is 34
each point of res has a vlaue
and so it will display items with that minimum value
At the top of the weighted sum - the minimum is the total of all the weights. Since i assigned each res a different weighting (you dont need to) - it will add the resistance an item has - apply the weightings to the different types - and provide a SUM - the sum must be in excess of 34 to show up in my search results
items with weird values like crit chance going to a max of 5% need higher values
So you mean then, that it will only show 34% of each resistance, with 3 having priority over 2, over 1? Or that the total will be over 34%, favoring sum 3, then 2, then 1?
I generally suggest doing weighted sums of similar modifiers - so like resistances - but dont try and mix in Damage to Attacks. If you want damage to attacks also - run it as a separate weighted sum in the same search

So because I assigned Cold res as a weight of 2 - this item has 32 Cold Res - and as such has a SUM of 64

You have stats - You enter the stats you want. You assign them your own personal weighting - maybe you need more cold than Fire - so its weighted higher.

So lets say im playing an attribute stacker - want a ring - could use some res - but stats are obviously really important to me. So i want to see what i can get.
the value in that is tied to each point increment of that stat, so if strenght has 2 value, 10 strength = 20 weight
The sum of this is 70. 26 Intelligence x2 = 52, and 18 Explicit Cold Res = 70.
Since I did not add weightings for Implicits - the implicit Cold isnt counted here
As in, you wanted 51 Fire here and 39 cold
if you want that, just look for 51 fire and 39 cold with regular filters.
You can also add that condition as an AND filter alongside the weighted.
the point of weighted sum is when your goal is more vague than "i need exactly this amount of res"
Lets say I NEED it to have 27 Lightning minimum I can do that.

weighted sum is something you only really do for trading for profit or weapons, or if your a stat stacker
if you want multiple resistances just use a count
it's also when your gear is flexible / not in place yet
because its a weighted SUM.

weighted sum very useful for when you are hard swappiong builds - or during breakpoints in gearing - maybe you do it at start of Cruel - then start of maps - then like level 78 when all the bases open up

very different builds - may require significant regearing/respeccing to get the most of out of - as well as skill gems obviously. The "setup" time for grenades definitely isnt for everyone
I thought it was a system of, "ish." That is to say, imagine I'm searching for physical damage and idk, crit chance. If I put in exact values, if they don't exist, the item doesn't come up. Or they do come up, and it's one pair. But I figured giving them weighted sums would give you a hiearchy of results for what you want in case I find say, a bow with the physical damage I need, but maybe 1 less crit than I wanted, but it's 10 exalts cheaper. Like, I would save those 10 exalts in exchange for 1 point of whatever I needed, instead of being so hyper specific.
true - i think id have the resources to swap at the least - setup time on grenade is def my biggest issue its gotten close to killing me often enough
well yeah, but the nature of the operation means that you might see results with tons of phys and no crit or tons of crit and no phys

In the experimenting I did though, I would often get say, only one of the stats at all. Let alone 2 or 3 of them. I was just trying to figure out why.

i like shattering conc alot - but as a starter i dont know how it would feel - scales with widowhail and good quivers which you wont have. Would go Lightning Arrow/Lightning Rod - into Gas Arrow (lvl 22), Poison Concoction with first lab. Run Gas Arrow/PConc through campaign

End game - snipers, storm mages or frost mages are all good. Can even keep playing arsonists

So now you need to make sure your primary attack does enough lightning dmg to proc shocks - so you get your Hearld of Thunder rolling - so it causes freezes to help your Herald of ice cause shatters
im a bit confused looking at pob numbers, its saying you need chance to poison for your gas cloud but nobody runs it, does the cloud automatically poison?

i played that on sc once, its just not it for me. its 1 step from flicker strike with all the speedy gap closing you end up in ground effects on accident too much.

If it did shield crush would actually be comparably strong to other skills in poe1. instead of just being ok, just not worth the clunk
If you have a 1200 Evasion chest - by equipping it - you will get 2400 Evasion and 100 ES
I mean, there are other things that give evasion like this. It gets added up with the Spectral Ward bonus in the end, that's all. And any other crap going on in the passive tree

Yeah, but I've been testing it a lot since lvl 90
now at lvl 93
always checking my gem skill dmg go up and down with buffs, and it definitely does not go up enough to match the 40%
even the 30% increase of damage on chill increases a lot more
if I deselect that skill node and select Echoing Flames
even though I ignite not so often because my fire damage is relatively low, I still get more dps than having Dynamism, which triggers very often
And Echoing Flames is only 30% elemental damage increase
I have the impression that the description of Dynamism is wrong and is meant to be either "Spell Damage" or "Triggered skill damage"

How is herald of thunder supposed to work with herald of ice? For me ice is rlly the only one that pops, I have cold infusion on lightning and lightning on ice

i think pathfinder is fairly versatile though. I dont know that is has anything thats spectacular though outside of concoctions. I don't generally mess with poison stuff though.

Herald of Thunder only triggers if you kill a shocked enemy.
If you don't shock any enemy, it will never trigger.
Especially on higher tier maps, if your shock chance and magnitude is low, it will be very hard to trigger it.
I use tempest flurry that automatically gives 100% increased shock chance on last strike, and I have +60% shock chance and +60% shock magnitude with passive skills.
And even so, in t16+ maps, depending on the mods of the waystone (e.g. mosnter elemental ailment threshold increase), it can be hard to shock them.

How is Mercenarys Gas Grenade damage calculated when it explodes?
Say you shoot out 4 grenades is it always 4 seperate explosions that get triggered even if the smoke has been on the ground for a while forming like a connected cloud of smoke or will that become just 1 explosion dealing 1 explosions worth of damage?
Pretty sure it’s 4 nades 4 explosions , and a portion of it’s damage is fire damage. It gets real crazy when you stack Exploding nades in there, and Oil nades. The damage across them all stacks, if I’m not mistaken.
So, scatter shot with an extra projectile bow, would have multiple oil nades and their damage when ignited, stacked with multiple gas nades and their damage when they detonate and ignite, plus the exploding nades and their damage when they detonate. Stacks on stacks on stacks.

wdym low energy generation its 250 base per block which is more than enough for like 3 skills at the same time
and 65% max block is already 87% with lucky

You do still benefit from evasion though, just with 40% less effectiveness

I'm bit confused what you want. Just make an empty tree, pick the nodes you want, and then click on a node far away, disconnected from your current ones, and any software must find a shortest path there, it's not optional

bottom left shield is aftershock and i get a decent amount of 8 aftershocks

8 waves of sunder with ancestral totem armour breaking from a distance then once ive got 4th asc ill be getting the ancestrally boosted so if it works how i think it will the aftershocks will all gain the 20% "more" damage from the ancestrally boosted tag
its the defences that suck on warrior side
only 26% block chance with lucky and like 60 eva since i test it on my ranger but the energy gain seems so terrible

Confusing question. Replace what? Eternal youth swaps the targets of ES recharge and Life flask. Now you have ES flask and Life recharge.
Your life recharges depending on how much ES recharge rate you have
But without the node you have regular life regenration, would that still apply even after using eternal youth? So you get regular regeneration + the ES recharge both applied to life
And added flask recovery gives you better ES flask

So the life recharge is just an addition on top of any other life regeneration that I already have, from any source that isnt a flask I suppose

Like think about it, you already constantly have many simultaneous way to recover your life/mana/ES (Recharge, Recoup, regen, flasks, +flat amounts from equipment modifiers) many things are recovering everything constantly
No. PoE distinguishes damage from life loss. Life loss may happen without any damage. Very common when paying mana costs with life instead or sacrificing life for stuff
These don't trigger anything damage related and do not get mitigated by anything

yes its enough - not getting hit 3/4 times (on average of course) means your ES isnt getting hit as much. And you can run Ghost Dance. And the other place to get evasion is nodes on your tree
Ok, the last setup (76% ev) is with ev and es nodes on the tree without more than one div investment so i'll try that thanks 🙂

Hey I'm looking at Poison builds with a Bow and I looking at two builds - one using Gas Arrow + Vine Arrow and another using Poison Burst Arrow + Toxic Growth. Going for a Chaos damage scaling build - which setup would be better ?
I put my character into POB, and I saw a discrepancy. I just want to make sure it's not my fault.
My character currently has level 27 Lightning Arrow. 19 from gem and +8 from global modifiers.
I'm pretty sure that POB only sees 20 levels of skill gem. On the skills page, if I hover over Lightning Arrow, it says "Level: 19(+1)".
Am I right? Or is there something I'm missing?
The main thing that jumps out at me is mana cost. It says my LA costs 77 mana, but it's actually 119. I imagine this would impact the damage, but the hit dps listed on POB is pretty close to my sheet dps.

i recreated my build in POB and it's saying i have 4400 mana/348 regen, when in game i have 4700/725. anyone know why that might be?

Ok, everlasting gaze. Just allows you to have ES again, with eldrich battery. So wanted to recommend that, but if you are already convering ES to Mana. Then you could try with the everlasting gaze amulet
before a shield fix i was at 12.4k mana

Are there any spark archmage stormweavers with high DPS that would be willing to take a look at my gear and setup if I send some screenshots or hop in a group and link them by chance? Just trying to brainstorm what is best to upgrade at this stage and what to work towards for better DPS/Bossing and also make sure I'm not missing anything critical on the passives. Lvl 94 DPS is currently 75k unbuffed.

i wish they would fix Incinerate soon in POB, not only is the 40% more damage per stage not working it refuses to accept the fire exposure even when manually toggled

All you need to do, is inflict enough cold damage to freeze - and as a result shatter - which triggers herald of ice.

hello guys i am playing a deadeye rn and i want to upgrade my build. Rn i am playing the tank build from fubgun and was wondering if i should upgrade to a crit build or is the lightning rod build better?
Given you've been actively playing basically the same build. Why don't you just take a look at the guides and figure out which one you'd prefer to play? And which one you actually have the money or items to swap to?
I'd also take another glance at the guide you've been following given that Fubgun has played all of those variants I would imagine he most likely suggests which one you could or should play at different stages of your progression. Or what those builds excel in so that you know which one you should pick based on the content and level of content you're trying to run

What is everyone in the late game more comfy with for a spark stormweaver. I can't decided if I want to lean more toward a crit build or just pure dps with a lot of mana. I prefer a more comfy build that can do mostly mapping but also still handle bosses.

"Good" or expensive? Expensive ones all have that chance - otherwise they wouldnt be expensive

after shocking hits, it does another shock, does it also apply to the same single target i've done shocking hits on to literally double down on the shock or nah?
the shockwave caused by the Charged Staff - if it shocks - you get the spread

Do I trust PoB dps or ingame? For example, in game removing Controlled destruction is losing dps. However, in PoB it is an increase.

Best thing you can do is test in game by going and hitting a unique and tracking dmg over numerous attempts
Yes it matters alot. Does it offset 1 attack speed - that youd have to figure out based on all of your other gear/spec
The answer is no, the possible two damage per hit is literally meaningless compared to getting an extra 1% attack speed for dexterity that you're already building into.
