I'm using power charges to keep Charged Staff active & occasionally clear rooms with Falling Thunder
Shock Wave as a sorta ranged attack option when I need it & Tempest Flurry + Tempest Bell for tankier mobs & bosses (this combo also works for general clearing, but I find Shock Wave + Falling Thunder to be faster for clearing so far)
can u drop ur tree? im just building a butt load of builds atm cuz endgame mob detonating drops quite a lot of frames

as far as how I'm getting charges, I'm using Profane Ritual on Reaper's Invocation for clearing (basically just get to top off my charges from the bodies of dead packs)
for bosses I just apply Shock + use Siphoning Strike to generate charges

Woke up and got the unique fire to cold gloves and new staff. Swapped to a fireball/frost wall build for my Sorc and it’s pretty sexy so far. I’m sure a detailed guide on a similar build will pop up soon.

according to someone in here earlier, it is similar to Shock
all Hits with Fire damage have a chance to Ignite & that chance scales with the damage of the applying Hit as well as other modifiers to Ignite chance

i think im ready for a real build. ive been killing things relatively easily with this but im pretty sure if i keep doing what im doing my character is gonna be dead with no chance of recovery, can anyone help me w a build? i mainly wanna use my galvanic shards for AoE and either gas nades or high velo rounds for boss dps (if anyone could dm me to help me that'd be swag)
just got my first level 9 gem.. what skill should i get? im a lightning ranger, but i ofc can't get cast on shock or anything quite yet so
try a Charged Staff + Tempest Bell build, use something like Tempest Flurry or Ice Strike (fast, frequent hits) to hit the bell & make sure you can consistently apply at least 2 if not 3 elemental ailments on hit
This setup doesn't depend heavily on any cast-on meta gems for it's primary damage skills (I'm only using CoS just to trigger Conductivity and Voltaic Mark automatically) and it does pretty solid damage in my experience. I'm in the middle of Cruel: Act 2 and my biggest issue is survivability at this point, the damage is more than sufficient to melt all bosses in under 10s so far.

while looking at the skill tree or gems menus you can Ctrl+F for "Energy" / "Energy generation" or something like that
Off the top of my head I know there are some nodes for it in the top-right area of the tree somewhere, and there is a support gem that increases Energy gen on supported skills as well
nope. it's pretty terrible. you want mainly high amounts of dps on a bow and that bow has very little dmg on it
If you hover over the word "leech" it says hits only
alternatively, use multiple projectiles support gem or dualstring bows for additional projectiles. Gas arrow is the main skill you want to be using.

Does anyone know if you only have 1 life and there's an effect that takes away 10% of your life how that works? Does the effect just not trigger or do you go to 0.9 life?

does chaos dmg on ring affect poison damage, some people told me it would only affect first hit?
he does a lot of Cold damage, so building Cold Resistance can definitely help in that fight
generally thought I think a good amount of his mechanics have one shot potential, but are generally telegraphed well, so just do your best to not take a lot of hits!
toughest part for geonor fight for me was always getting swarmed by the wolves

I just want to share my build. It's 2H + shield. Sunder to one tap packs and Perfect Strike to chunk bosses as seen. So far im really happy a thematic build i cooked up is working so well, I wonder how itll do in the late game. Was rough at the start but I stuck to my warrrior till the end and im so glad i did. By the way this clip is on cruel mode act 3 using a normal mode weapon i crafted back in act3 normal mode. Normally if i had weapon same level as boss, it 3 to 4 taps them!

yeah at the end of act3 i crafted myself some gear and it lasted until probably end of act3 cruel hopefully, would be nice to save on currency until i start maps
any good infernalist builds that isn't essence drain or minions
does glaciation work on freezing mark? giving 80% more freeze build up when hitting a marked enemy? and upping the nova free build up to 150%?
leveling kinda dos very little in poe2 in the campain unless you have luck with your skillgem drops or buy them

That's crazy, my sorc build had as much hp as you do between my hp/es/mana combined until I died to a one shot
Their armor probably helped a lot
He will die in later maps if he face tanks, at so moment it seems like it there is just not enough defensive layers in the game to facetank later maps^^
I don't think the issue is lack of defensive layers, I think it is more that the endgame is just not as tunned as the campaign resulting in one shots that are not intended
well if you are not overly gear/defensive optimized campain hits hard too, but if you scale defensive early one its just not this scary

you just need to press C and make sure that your current INT inside of demon form is higher than 61
int requirement doesnt change, your current amount of total int changes if you have int on weapon OR offhand foci since they arent actually "equipped" while shapeshifted
you can get over 300 possibly over 400 spirit
you can get spirit on gear as well as weapon
the weapon and off hand thing i find stupid as hell. i mean the form has hands and could use such things

ive noticed a special effect happens in demon form when an enemy dies with a curse on them, it causes a big swirl of black energy to coalesce around you

As long as the dmg is a hit (cant leech with dots) and doesnt explicitly say leech with physical attacks or anything then yes

I wonder if they are going to partial revert supercharged slam. Probably not knowing GGG, but it feels so undertunned compared to the other big stun payoffs now. Hammer of the gods does more than twice the damage which being faster and safer, perfect strike hits just as hard or harder while being faster and safer. Both of those also scale with skill and attack speed while supercharged does not. I am sad now. Big bonk is not bonk enough.
Depends on the ailment but technically yes because if you crit with higher crit bonus youll do more damage and for a lot of ailments more damage = higher amt of ailment
kk thankyou. In POE1 i believe crit multipler didnt apply to ailments (been many years since I played) so i didnt know if they changed.

base hit damage determines ailment potency, higher crit damage bonus results in higher base hit damage

Ailments cannot crit, to be clear. But the higher dmg from critting with more crit bonus will give you a better ignite, for example. For shock its just a higher chance

Ailment chance still confuses me tbh. I guess it's because you can't see it as a stat anywhere. I tried using siphoning strike as Monk but it felt like I could never get shock going despite having a lot of shock chance passive skills
you can have multiple skill gems. I had 2 different arcs in a temp build once.
Unless youre Gemli 
one was supported for max clear, other for bosses

oh so hex blast does temp remove a curse that is on blasphemy when you use it so that support for more dmg when a curse is removed should work with it. it just gets reapplied really quickly

im not sure if flamewall is supposed to be that good for fire builds, I always thought it was a way for multi ele builds to get use out of ignite without needing any +ignite chance nodes.

Nah, but it was just the general idea. There are nodes for ignite ALL OVER the place on the tree. But scaling it seems like a bad idea. Only the 1 strongest ignite is ever active, I'd rather just pump all fire damage (which technically scales the ignite) and just focus on fire hits because If i scalled ignite, i could spam 5 different spells at someone and only one will ever have an active ignite.

The thing is that increasing fire damage scales both the hit and the ignite so if you balance your tree in taking both you can potentially have more dps in total

Yeah, i just like the idea on focusing on the DOT to get the constant damage, but that just isn't really viable. You'd pretty much ALWAYS be better off just scaling the hit with the ignite as just an extra dps dick.

Scaling ignite is still useful since it is a differnt bucket of scaling, so it will multiply the already increased damage from other nodes

Look at the tooltip for ignite magnitude potentially, I'm not sure the actual calculation

So if you have say 100% increased damage, and then 20% increased ignite magnitude, your ignite is based on 240% of your base damage essentially. Have to do math to determine how worth that is compared to more damage but scaling multiple things is not bad inherently.
You can't attack 24/7 in most content, the whole point of ignite is it allows you to focus on moving around while still having full damage uptime

Hey, I'm following CaptainLance9 spark build. I just compared our gear and trees. He currently got 869 Mana on gear + 1128 ES on Gear, his tree is at 437% maximum ES.
While I have 939 mana on gear + 1049 ES, and on my tree Ive got 439% maximum ES.
So can someone explain how he has 5k ES and 4K mana while i only have 4,3k es and 3,4k mana. Yes I have the Everlasting Gaze at 30%.

Alright guys, been looking at getting into block a bit and realized that block chance isn't additive anymore but multiplicative from the base value. Got a 46% block shield and 7%block chance jewels. 6% ones give 3 block each (6% rounds up to 3 total block chance seemingly while the 7% is rounded down) Now, I don't have the money to test but would a 5% block chance increase on a node or jewel in turn be rounded down because it's value in relation to the base being 1.05*46=48,3? If yes, then what happens to that .3? Is it remembered for future calculations? Core reason for me trying to figure this out is if it's irrelevant to go for 7% rolled jewels if the 6%ers are always rounded up and the missing .X isn't remembered
EDIT: Remembered now that when I had a 40% block shield the 6% increase jewel would actually amount to only a 2% total block increase. 40*1,06=42,4 So it would be rounded down there, big question then is if two of said jewels would amount to 44,8 and be rounded up to 45 or be rounded down to 44 somehow

since the Charged Staff buff applies to all staff attacks
if I put supports like Cold Infusion or that one Electrocute gem onto Charged Staff, will those effects then also apply to all my quarterstaff attacks while Charged Staff is active?
they'll only affect the AoE being launched from the charged staff. so electrocute would likely work there but cold infusion would be a hinderance
so the shockwave and the 1-6 dmg per charge when consumd will be effected.
When something says "x% of damage added as chaos" what is the "damage" it's refering to?
anyone got a good build for a lightning foccused invoker ? I did my pasive tree blind without playing poe ever and it turned out good , I do good damage to bosses but the issue is my trashmob clear on endgame maps is so fking slow it's anoying . my only way of clearing mobs is a windup skill that takes ages , but at least it 1sshots

I feel like my cast on shock isnt ever casting. Meanwhile Im blatantly shocking enemies. So much so that they are getting fully stun locked because of the shock meter. And yet my arc still just isnt casting.

Correct gain % extra is applied at the final step of dmg calculation, so you take the final hit, sum up all the damage types and then add your gain % extra on top like free dmg pudding

im currently in Act 2 and it seems that my Evasion Rating is capped at 65% even after getting way past 650 evasion, this means that if you can get to 1000 evasion rating then getting the ...And Protect Me From Harm node would actually be useful because it wouldnt nerf your evasion % at all

If you're in act 2, your base res is -10.
You get -10% all res after every act
So if it's 0, then it's working.

No, it simply negates the 10% res.
They work together and very effectively since it increases the dmg the monster receives, that's abt all you need without getting too much in the weeds

Sometimes you can run into rares that are resistant and also have an affix that adds res. They're very tough if you don't have pen.
If I recall correctly monsters also have the 75% cap and 90% possible max but I don't know how much the monsters baseline have

If they have + max res it can go up to 90

90 is like the hard cap 75 is the soft cap
75% is the base cap, further modifiers may increase it to 90% but are quite rare

if you add/average the flat damage, left is approx 50+20+10 = 80, right is about 45
So 70% less means "70% of previous value" and not "reduced by 70%"? So 0.7x instead of x-0.7x

simple way to put it is
wep dmg * the skills atk % value = attack dmg
attack dmg * your increased modifiers = dmg dealt
meaning it scales off the base damage, and doesn't multiply with the other modifiers, right?

maxed out on resistances and ahve 2k hp more or less which is like 300-400 hp less than the people i ahve seen chilling at like T12+ maps
