if you gather all the '% chance to fire 2 extra proj' nodes, it's 18 points including what it takes to get from the first cluster to the 2nd cluster, plus i guess 3-5 points depending where you're coming from the top of the tree. is 50% chance to fire 2 extra proj ever worth 18 points? hmm

how does weapon set passives work for conditions?
for example if I have crossbow for grenades and use flash grenade while having 20% increased blind effect node in tree and then switch to use melee with mace whose tree doesn't have that. Would the blind lose effectiveness?
and secondary situation, since grenades have timer what happens to the blind effectiveness if I switch to mace before the grenade explodes and applies the blind?

I'm not sure if it just looks that way or not, but Elemental invocation seems pretty much better than cast on freeze, bar the fact that I (if I understand it correctly) need to manually press elemental invocation to cast everything linked to it?

Yes. More critical rate multiplies all your crit chance after its already done the calculation of base crit and increased. Basically if you already have increased 100% crit and you get another 100%, giving you 300% total crit. it will add together to give your final crit chance. If they were more instead of increased, theyd multiply each other, and you would have 400% increased crit.
i wish blasphemy would work with decaying hex at least

The good thing between:
Invoker Monk = We get free meta energy boost + Ignore elemental resistance (This goes really hard on mapping later)
Stormweaver = We get more mana regeneration with arcane surge and counter effect of MoM + aoe elemental stuffs
honestly at best we are talking MAYBE usable nodes for chaos and thats kinda all

ya, like demon form is decent from what i can see but the rest of the ascendency feels kinda meh unless you are fire or life stacking
Eventually you drop the max stacks ascendancy for the one that cuts life for spirit.

you should try frost wall with that cdr support, it's really funny
since bosses insta pop the frost crystals, you throw spell cascade and echo on and it will shred pretty much any enemy that can't be cc'd

So I've been putting together a chaos necro monk and wanted to talk about it and get some input.
So far it has been an absolute blast, so much stronger than expected, bosses I struggled with on my witch I'm destroying with my monk.
I currently stack contagion then essence drain. Then I use unearth to apply bleed and poison as well as to get some skelly spiders. I have gone chayula for chaos damage and started with into the breach, did not reslise it was a passive ability, it's really cool.
The debate is with my skellies, I've played with both fire and ice bois, the fire ones do a nice amount of damage and stack ignite onto my dots. However, I just think the ice mages are cooler (hehe), I love commanding them to do ice bomb and just think the ice suits aesthetically with chaos more. I also love the idea of getting that support that makes my chaos damage chill.
Anyone else have any ideas for the skellies?

yes, it carried through the entire campaign extremely easily once you get more duration, more proj speed, and that stormweaver storm ascendancy on crit (which tbh is practically auto win)

AFAIK baseline every ailment has one stack max but that can be increased by passive nodes and (maybe) uniques and such
i think dmg makes more sense
e.g. pathfinder can have like 8 stacks of poison
Increasing dmg increases the shock chance inherently
but if you want more consistent shocks you also increase the chance via the stat, depends on what your uptime is
because it depends on the dmg of the hit
so larger hit means more chance to shock

cause if youre already lowering it to 0 or negative with exposure and curse then it does nothing

Even that can depend. For instance, Lightning Penetration is good against enemies with high resistance but it doesn't do anything against low resistance enemies (including if you've cursed them to bring their resistance down). This is because penetration can't take enemies' resistance below 0.
If you're non-crit, Controlled Destruction is a no-brainer for free damage, but if you're building into crit then it's bad.
Arcane Tempo is always going to be decent, and the cast speed will help you get more uses in between dodges. But it's not necessarily your strongest option.
Unleash is very good against bosses where you need to dodge a lot because you'll be building seals even while you dodge. If you're strong enough to be able to just stand there and hold cast, it's only an effective 25% more damage multiplier, but the less often you get to cast (because of dodging), the higher the multiplier will get, up to 50% more if you only get to cast every few seconds.
And then, of course, there are supports relating to crit if you've gone for a crit build. Plus things relating to shock if you don't have a way to shock enemies with other skills. There are a lot of options.

Well Lightning Penetration is potentially decent. Rising Tempo is good if you're also using cold and fire skills (this also synergises with Unleash).
I think Unleash is probably better than Arcane Tempo for single-target, personally. At worst, it's the same multiplier but feels a little clunkier (because less cast speed). But at best - ie, you're having to dodge and aren't just holding cast 100% of the time (which is realistically any fight against bosses and rares) it's a fair bit stronger

Your damage output won't ever be lower with Unleash, no - it will be the same at worst, and in practice probably a decent bit better
its not a multiplier because it doesnt factor into the calculations of your damage, it just adds on top
apparently it counts as an aura so you can get vitality on it so you regen HP some when its active lol
so if you would've done 200 dmg without it, you do 200 + whatever % extra

If you have 200% damage as extra, thats 200% more, but if you have 100% as extra and 100% as extra that's not 400% thats still just 200%

I would do Unleash + Controlled Destruction, personally (in that priority order).
When you factor in dodging and using other skills, Unleash gets stronger in practice than it looks on paper. If you think of it like this:
Unleash gives you 25% more damage if you're just standing still holding cast the entire time, and never have to dodge or use other skills - because you will be using seals the moment you get them. If you stop casting and build up seals, for your next cast Unleash will give you 50% more damage per seal consumed. So you get somewhere between 25% and 100% more damage from Unleash, depending on how often you have to stop casting.
Arcane Tempo is just always 25% more DPS. It's not incredible as a DPS multiplier, but it does make the skill feel smoother and potentially mean you can get damage in at times you wouldn't be able to otherwise
Controlled Destruction is 30% more damage, but also prevents you critting. And even on a non-crit build, you'll crit sometimes so losing that hurts a tiny bit (but not much).
Basically, use Unleash as first priority. And then choose between the other two based on what feels better. Arcane Tempo feeling smoother might make up for the slightly lower DPS from not taking Controlled Destruction

so the vines do 678.6 chao dot baseline and then if you poison the plant with a 100dps poison it adds 50dps to the vines

the two points behind eldritch will are probably not needed but thats something you'd have to feel out. You might need critical exploit depending on what your crit looks like. Also drop arcane surge (constant gale) for scouring winds because its broken (good broken) and find another skill other than spark to put lightning exposure on

10 isn't the max, it says it has 10 max per 0.12s of base cast time. If you put in a spell that has a 1.2s cast time, it will have 100 max energy, for instance

Does anyone have any ideas for how to improve clearing with bonestorm? The boss damage is amazing but the clearing leaves something to be desired. DD helps but isn't really ideal. It feels like the build could really use something like herald of ice to help clean up after a cast

How are we feeling about energy shield vs evasion?
Hi there! I've chosen the Warbringer specialization, but when I took the "Weight of the Anvil" node, which reduces enemy armor by 10% when dealing impact damage, it says "no skills affected!" I understand that just using a mace should deal impact damage, so why isn't it affecting any skills? How can this be? Does anyone know?
does essence drain benefit from crit at all? so if the initial hit crits, does the DoT on essence drain crit too?

Slow but I love it lol. My monk coming through here was running for his life. My warrior is able to tank and deliver huge hits when I set it up fight.
i would agree but it specifically states that spell damage leeches and that the debuff does spell damage
i mean i guess you could say each tick is not a hit but its still a instance of damage

I think youre scaling it good, just need to evaluate based on your gear if you need more crit chance or energy gain for meta gem or ES faster recharge but that should be good to go

Energise might be overkill but you'll be able to feel that out
Also a bit of advice to specficially you. Because this is forbidden poe1 knowledge about how shock and ignite used to work. Lightning likes crit chance. Fire likes Crit Damage. Cold likes Both.
On gear obviously both is good, but on tree you pretty much always pick chance or damage because of how shock rewards hitting multiple crits in a row, and fire promotes a single big ass crit every few secodns.
you cant go the fire witch so you forced to go bloodd witch and you cant even use the life steal

The philosophy of taking crit multi over chance is assuming you can get it effectively via gear, obv poe2 is an unknown, so if you need the chance to be higher then take the chance over the multi, etc

and crit multi is hard to get so youd prefer to get it on tree

yeah dots doesn't make much sense for bloodmage, i've been having a lot of success with bonestorm
but obviously no diamond flask and such so it may be harder to get a high crit chance effectively

np, i just keep hearing how busted the exposure effect is from stormweaver so youll get a lot of scaling out of that alone
and increases to exposure effect are just an effective multiplier for scouring winds, makes it even better
