I guess depends how you define finished. If you are talking the atlas tree quests yes. The actual atlas map nodes are supposed to go on forever unless you no life like mad. If you somehow manage to finish it the devs messed up. It's the only thing to do in endgame outside of pinnacle bosses

I have a question or rather need advice about map progression. I'm playing a spark sorceress, but I think I might have advanced her build to quickly without the proper gear. I only have 3 support gems on spark, I have my gaze amulet, and I made the switch to Eldritch Battery+MoM+CI. I only have about 3400 ES and 3200 mana so my damage just isn't where it needs to be. I have to be super careful even in tier 2 maps.

So my question regarding progression is this: do I activate my towers now to farm currency to trade for gear? Every video I see recommends that you save them for tier 13+ maps but I just don't see me progressing that far with my current gear. I have 5 towers unlocked in a circle to stack on the maps in the center.

You can, its not like poe 1. Just figure out what you like at the begining and read about all the things that are in the game to understand how things work. Id say when you enter cruel you should watch some guide where someone has a similar build to the one that you like and then you can see if you are making some obvious mistakes. Ehh, it does give a good feeling when you finally figure things out and beat it, but it is certainly a very different feeling from how most games would handle it. It is jarring to say the least
