i might try that next, a pure crit build that just uses hand of chayula + sniper's mark to do something with frenzy charges and explosive punches

Archer also had passive tree points, that remove crit and make enemy blind from the mark. But afaik bosses affected much less by mark, so idk. If i not missing anything.
No crit for boss or rare sounds extreme.

sure, but it depends, one thing i dont know is if spark has limited ricochet times, since its mostly limited by lifespan like in poe1

perchaps ricochet doesn't do anything to spark due to infinite wall bouncing

There should be an item in the treasure room at the end of the trial that you can interact with for your first 2 ascendency points.
Additional Ascendency points will require going even deeper into the Trial. Every floor you clear in the same run will give you 2 more points. However, you can't do more than 1 floor in a run right now, you'll need to find coins that allow you to do 2-4 floor runs.

So you're limited to only 2 points until later in the game when you get coins that let you do harder Trials, essentially.

Incorrect. There are items that will drop later on that allow you to run the trial an infinite number of times, with various mods (increasing difficulty and rewards) It's supposed to be one of farmable endgame content for loot.
So you can find items that allow you to do up to 4 floors in a single run, which will get you the full 8 points that you can get.

Ultimatum is similar but different. You can ALSO ascend there. but you don't have to, both ways work.
I believe Ultimatum awards 2 points every 3 trials you complete? I haven't done that myself, that's just going off of my memory of the announcement stream.

Mostly Correct.
Its the number of floors you complete in a SINGLE RUN. So If you have a coin that lets you do 4 floors, you'll start on floor 1, clear it (Get no ascendency points) and then move onto floor 2. If you clear that, you get your 2 points, and can keep going to floor 3, etc. If you die at any point, you'll have to find a new coin and start over again.

Realistically, a 4 floor coin right now would KILL you super dead, as those are designed for level ~80 characters. You're should find a 2 floor coin sometime during Cruel, which will let you do 2 floors in a single run.

The first coin you get should be refunded if you fail. YOu can actually farm it for relics (which are also refunded) to make things easier.
Future Sanctum Coins are just random drops, afaik.

It should just be a flat -10% if its lightning resists that you're building, so having +40% at you current point should make it 30%, 40% -10% = 30%, if that's not happening it sounds like a UI bug?

Could be something in your passive skill tree doing it potentially, sometimes there's been stuff in PoE1 that takes resist from one of your resist types and applies it universally to all resists, if you haven't picked up anything like that then yeah it sounds like a bug @frigid lantern

Each meta skill accumulates energy in a different way. For example, cast on shock gets energy when you shock an enemy. Get enough energy, and the linked skills are triggered

I assume you mean for points 5-8? Supposedly you need to get a trial key unlocked that is of a higher difficulty. For example, trial of sekhamas for the quest has only 1 floor, but you can get keys with up to 4 floors I think. Floor 2 is not enough to ascend (I've tried). I haven't tried a floor 3 or 4 key since I havent found one.
