Can't comment on Bows specifically, but in general, leagues tend to come with major balance patches. It is possible that any good Bow build now will be buffed, nerfed or drastically altered depending on the changes they make, and new ones may emerge if they add any new skills, Uniques, ascendancies and so on.

BTW, is there a way to get a mini-boss sometimes spawned by the Vaal circle (instead of a chest) to get unstuck. The boss was spawned, took a few hits, and vanished. You can refund all of your passive points in POE 2. There's no scenario where you are hard stuck on passive pathing.

Based on your image, you have some weapon swap points allocated (they'll show up as red or green on your tree) and that was likely blocking your path since as Calulrme mentioned you cannot allocate a jewel slot with any part of the tree that invovles swap points

You have a number of passive points, shown at the top. You can then spend those points as weapon set passives rather than regular passives, allowing you to allocate them to different passives across either set. If you aren't using a second weapon set, you can freely stick to regular passive points.

it's definitely possible to accidentally set a weapon swap point with controller if you don't notice you did it.

Because all you need to do is long press the node, then left/right on the stick.

You have to refund back to where the weapon swap points were initially selected.

So like in your screenshot, it cannot be the strength node where your issue lies, it's further back up the path.

Poevault is typically fine for guides, after a brief scroll if you actually read all that and "follow" it loosely, you'll be alright

You can get additional movement speed by getting more on the passive tree, a few body armor implicits, a higher roll on your boots, a very rare augment in your boots. Certain items naturally reduce your movement speed when equipped: any body armor(but it’s worse for armor base types), any shield with armor. You also gain movement speed from the onslaught buff. You also can get various sources of reduced movement speed penalty while using skills.

minions can be great but as you start unlocking the different types, its usually beneficial to have tons of skill gems and support gems, as well as quality and extra sockets of course. totally fine especially with friends or trade, but something to keep in mind with all kinds of "campaign" builds

elemental caster is fine, a little wonky since you dont get the same nodes as Sorc (witch gets minions, physical, and chaos). if you dont mind pathing through some attributes early on its no problem 🙂

would recommend phys spells/plant package. entangle is a little wimpy until you unlock the "wildsurge incantation" keystone that juices storm and plant skills a ton. bone cage + entangle should be enough until level 15, when you get thunderstorm and maybe that keystone

Classes in PoE2 do not determine anything but the starting location on the tree, and your ascendancy classes. You can freely experiment with other skills on any class as long as you meet the requirements, and some skills tend to be best on classes other than the one they're associated with.

But also, level 10 or 20 are really early into the campaign, you can get another character through to that level in a few hours at most.

The talisman form transformation is tied to some combination of talisman and player level. You can still use wing blast and it should transform you when you do.

I remember wyvern didn't show up on talismans for a while.

At least I think that's how it works.

Maybe re-equip your talisman after equipping wing blast, or try to get a new talisman.

something like spell damage leech is rare and only found in Bloodmage asc and covenant unique body, but many things are just generic offensive or defensive buffs

To me, shaman looks cool as the elemental spell + attacker hybrid but I don't see enough support for it yet, maybe mjolner or something would be nice

Oracle on the other hand, you might be pigeonholed into taking the exact same ascendancy nodes as other ppl but that's cuz they are so good

Defensive crit avoidance + YOU always crit = nasty
Extra nodes on tree = sometimes bait but there are some solid ones for sure
Wi-Fi from allocated keystones - this does it for me, super sick passive tree that no other class will end up with unless they shove every unique jewel into their build

Safest advice is to buy cheaper, like 1-5ex and then use extra exalted orbs to just slam them to 6 mods and move on. If there is a cheap annoint for a notable passive skill, go for it. Something like Heavy Ammunition if you use projectiles can work fine for a leveling ammy

Otherwise don't fuss with it just slam and throw it on if you can still wear it

It depends how you decide to build it. Wyvern form gets inherent bonuses to energy shield, bear gets armor bonuses. But you can make either work.

Life and resistances are most important while leveling.

if you have read both guides, you should be able to answer that yourself. im only familiar with the one i referenced

i prefer solving crit the bloodmage way, with 15% base spell crit. oracle instead has permanent crits that do reduced damage. in addition, oracle will be using mana by default whereas bloodmage will use life (forced via lifetap or bloodmagic). super late game when you want multiple comet procs per second, mana will simply fail to keep up with leech casting. this is why many oracles run the Covenant body armour or try stacking mana cost efficieny

Unless that item has its own mechanics, you can just replace the one u don't like with a new one.

There is only one way to remove a rune from an item, and that's by using the currency item from the vaal temple but doing so will destroy the item so it's not rly practical in most cases.

And I'm not even sure if that works for Tabula Rasa.

The item's base level does impact its base stats, but the majority of the stats come from the randomly rolled mods on the item. It sounds like your lvl 33 weapon had some better rolled stats than the lvl 50 does.

Item level determines what CAN roll on an item, doesn't mean it WILL roll the good stats. The stats you want also depend on your build.

If the Unique doesn't have useful stats for you, then no. In general, I'd say neither are great since they don't have +Spell Levels, though.

For reference, a single level for Spells is around 12% more damage on average, and in Act 4 you could have +3 or +4, which would be 40% or 57% more damage respectively, with some Spells scaling even more than that.

What isn't normal are those CPU and GPU times. For reference, at 60fps you'd be seeing at most 16ms in both.

Hi all! Got a bigger question. I played the game when it originally released and played through the first 3 acts twice and got to endgame.
I remember the game being VERY frustrating at times. 1 thing is it was hard and another was that you had to kinda know what you wanted your build to end up as.

• Is ascendancy still a final decision or can it be changed later on now?
• Can you still soft-lock yourself into a grind like I did, building mainly ice damage and doing fuck all to the first act boss, leading me to make an entirely new character?

No, you can respec ascendency now. It's essentially impossible to brick a character anymore, the respec system is quite forgiving and just costs some gold (unless you want to change ascendencies entirely, that's a bit more involved).

Basically the only one way doors are your initial class selection and a few minor permanent buffs you choose throughout the campaign.

Idk, enemy resistances can make a big impact on how a build feels. I have an ignite WH build that rips through every T3 boss, but when I hit something with juiced fire res it's a slog.

Geonor has no resists except for 30% to cold, so he will feel more tanky against an Act 1 build reliant on cold if they're not using pen or exposure.

Okay, that probes a very important question for me. How important is looking up a build? The very first guide on the page says I should choose a build before even playing, but I generally like playing games via trial and error.

Choosing a build and following a guide is definitely the easiest option. However going in blind is totally viable as well, many people enjoy it more that way. It will however of course be a more challenging experience and as you already experienced you can manoeuvre yourself in a kind of dead end.

Another alternative would be to only get yourself inspired by some guide to get a general idea what works and then build around that.

Very much this. I can't recall the last time I died to the Act 1 final boss, and I mostly homebrew builds. Conversely, I died to him like 15 times on release day haha.

As long as you are comfortable with failing and having to swap stuff around or start a new character, I would 100% recommend just trying to do your own thing. I don't look up build guides and can get through most content in the game without issue, though you'll likely need a while before reaching such a point.

Check the top two guides in #1308715317375270952 they offer great advice on how to progress your character. You want to look out for items with resistances and max life. Flat damage on rings and movement speed on boots. Also watch out for weapons, gloves and amulets with skill ranks.

Modifies an item randomly in good or bad ways and corrupts it, preventing you from modifying it further in most ways. Don't vaal anything you can't afford to lose.

That prevents you from doing other stuff to the item.

Hello, am new player 👋

I did try searching this answer up but I couldn’t find a great response (that I understood). I am brand new to the game. I dabbled with each of the characters a bit, really like using the crossbow the most. It’s my understanding I can really use the crossbow with anyone and that ascendancy matters the most in that regard. Which class is the most fun with crossbow? I give preference to fun to play rather than S tier builds. Any feedback is appreciated 🙂

I love crossbows and most of the time people do them with Mercenary or Ranger class bases. There are some exceptions for specific unique builds, but generally you'll go into that with a plan ahead of time.

You're entirely correct that you can run any weapon on any character. Usually, the class archtype which is associated with the weapon is the most straightforward one to build for a new player (so Merc in your case).

Once you have a good sense for how the weapon's skills work and general power scaling across the game, then you'll start to see ways you can use the weapon across different classes.

For example, Crossbows have a lot of elemental skills and the Huntress' Amazon ascendency has some good power scaling around multi-element builds as well as enabling life leech from elemental damage (normally leech only works with phys).
