I used to be able to hold X and the little wheel pops up, and if you have points, it lets you allot them (unless it is out of order or however you would call it). Even without paying gold. But you could do it with gold.

I used to be able to do that, in that order, without using a NPC and paying gold, just in the passive tree menu. now you can't even do that while paying. you have to remove d, remove c, remove b, remove a, and you can only do it at the NPC

In that clip you started with one free skill point. The top node went from set point to normal point.
Then (with your freed up set point) you allocated one set point from an unallocated node. No npc required for either of those

Ok, I actually figured out something that at least makes it less bad. The free respecing isn't entirely gone. You just need enough money to conver the temporary removal of nodes. I just removed 5 nodes, with the root node white and the rest green, made the root node green, and returned the rest to green, and it didn't actually cost me any gold

Not as bad as I thought, but still unnecessary, and cost-prohibitive

Gear level matters less than the stats that are on it. Higher level gear CAN roll better stats, but they arent guaranteed to do so. You want life and resists on armor, damage on your weapon, movement speed on boots if you can get it.

Different builds go for different things. You can do whichever one you want. One I saw recently was a cold-infused spark. There's chaos-fire blood mage that's popular right now. But with EA balance being a bit wonky, pure lightning anything is kind of strong overall regardless of build haha

Not using a bolt is the same thing as having extra bolts. And there are support gems that automatically reload when you stun enemies, for instance.

so if you have a helmet with 100 base armour, +100 to armour, and 100% increased armour, that helmet will have 400 armour. that 400 is then multiplicative to your global inc defences and inc armour.

as opposed to global armour, which would not have any interaction with local inc. armour.
