honestly like 40% of the minor afflictions are build-disabling

depending on the build

theres ones that remove energy shield, evasion, or armour. Theres ones that make the enemy faster, affecting bosses too making cycles impossible to dodge. Less movement speed is suicide. Making enemies hit harder can cause the boss to chunk over half your honour in a hit. Etc.

Dodge, use your skill gems, READ everything, especially underlined words, pick up most gear. Blue items can be good, don't ignore stuff based on rarity.

It's a really rewarding game but yes less unforgiving just don't neglect defenses/resistances and every new act you lose 10% to your elemental resistances

Sort of? It's not much faster in this game, but it is faster than solo I guess.
There's a range of levels where you get experience from an area. Go too far above/below, you start getting penalized or get no XP at all.
So they basically have to take you to a zone, kill a bunch of stuff, take you to another... and repeat until leveled.
It's not like Diablo or similar where somebody just brings you into the endgame, you wait at the door, and level up like 5 times in a minute.

Yeah. The xp obtained in a party is weighted to give more to higher level players. That happens all the time. Then there's another penalty for being too far above/below the zone level. It gets exponentially more penalizing with level difference

I wouldn't recommend getting leveled by anyone ever, personally. And they usually mean they'll rush you through the campaign. Giving you waypoint, completing quests, killing bosses, but you'll be left at a pitifully low level and will have to grind up 30+ levels in low level zones before you can do endgame content anyway

Diablo lets you cruise through the campaign and lets you hit the toughness wall when you push higher rifts.
PoE forces you to build res even if you didn't want to push maps, but if you do it's a more natural transition rather than "Everything must be upgraded immediately"

To be fair, the community has been surprisingly open about the difficult points in this game (usually you get a slew of "Oh, that was so easy for me" in other games)
Like Geonor is a tough boss for some people, Utzaal is a difficulty spike, Viper is a tough boss for some people, and breaches aren't easy. People acknowledge that here 😅

Weapon swapping is generally not advised unless you have a specific reason for doing so, and likely some weapon set points allocated.

I used a bow and a staff in the campaign. I would put down two orbs of storms and then spam a lightning bow attack to fight stuff.

I would swap to the staff (which gave me cast speed on the staff and more cast speed on the tree) so I could put down the two orbs faster, then swap back to the bow for the damage

hi guys, I'm a new player and its my first time playing path of exile 2.
So i bought the early access of the game and installed it, as i said, it's my first time playing poe2 so i didn't know i needed to have an poe account to play so after lunching my game from the steam and pressed log in, a window poped up and was saying to agree for log in and stuff, i accept the rules and the i recived an erro that i needed to enter a verification key, after searching, i found out i had to active my game via poe2 site, so i entered the site and make my first account and then I linked my steam account, and a window poped up saying that you already have an account linked to this steam or something like that but it was saying if im accepting and let it merge my account, i accepted it and i was thinking it will merge the account with this new one and it becomes one, but it creates two account user and i said to my self its ok nothing is happening and started playing for around 100h and then i found out the early access version gives 300 Points and when i checked my store i had 0 point, i went and checked the site for my transaction and saw the point are in my first account /: while i was playing with the secound one all this time without knowing it, so because i cant leave and play again with my first account because of the time i put on my secound account, i wanted to ask can i some how move the points to my secound account or merge two accounts or even delete the first one??? or i can use the skin and other cosmetic in my firat account, on my secound accound??(they are both the same steam account but some how its two)

damage as extra is a separate sort of multiplier. it grants extra flat damage which is then affected by applicable modifiers, additive with itself but effectively multiplicative with increased multipliers as long as it is of the correct element — if you scale entirely lightning damage, damage as extra fire would have minimal value

after you beat doryani in cruel act 3 the gateway gets disabled
