game crashes if in demon form while using time teleport mechanic in gauntlet which is in a very bad spot and teleports me infront of a pack of mobs where if i trasnform to get my damage back will crash my game again and if i took any damage the honor loss will still be there even though i gotta repeat the room from scratch so i ended up crashing 10 times tryna complete a room and eventually dying to a rare mob because i have 0 damage without my stacks

the big scary ones, yes. But the ones that look like they're trying to swim away from him, those are the ones the buff him

Idk exactly what they do, I think they either give him more damage/damage reduction, or they lower the cooldown on his super dangerous abilities

You can use both ice and lightning in the build. Tempest flurry does more hits/seconds than ice strike but ice strike dashes to targets you attack. Its up to you imo

The problem with sets is that they tend to reduce the number of gear choices. If you have, say, a really strong set that takes 4 different slots, then using that is effectively reducing 4 choices to 1 choice

sets work better in other game genres where the primary purpose isnt to find loot. While they were fun to use in Diablo 3, as another user said, it became only about sets and nothing more.

I'm enjoying it. Been shuffling my gear around, tried spark for a bit but actually switched back to fireball, I think I find it more fun. Spent the last couple days trying to do a lot of interconnected gear upgrades but struggling to figure out how to get it to work on my budget, but then I just got a random Last Flame drop so now everything will kind of change once I sell that.

In any case, at this point my Fireball build has actually ended up pretty close to a meta archmage spark/lightning conduit built, just with a few tree clusters swapped around (Psychic Fragmentation cluster for extra proj instead of duration, proj speed, and Branching Bolts) and using Frost Wall and Fireball instead of Spark and Orb of Storms.

It feels like right now even if you're not using spark, Archmage is just the strongest way to scale damage on a sorc in endgame, and once you're using Archmage pairing it with shock effect and Cast on Shock conduit is the best way to get extra single target damage.

A big part of the reason I switched back to Fireball from Spark was just that I liked the defensive benefits of casting Frost Wall a ton even without the conversion gloves for more freezing. But I also wasn't using the electrocution gloves on spark which could be a big defense boost to it.

You can also use Frost Wall on Spark anyway, it can just get into the way of your sparks instead of boosting their damage like fireball. You can also use Call of the Brotherhood for some chill/freeze on spark

Shield better for defenses, Focus with damage mods better for damage. Depends on which you feel like you need more.

A shield with good block chance is an easy way to get a big defensive boost, but a focus with skill levels is a big damage boost

Yeah, maybe it helps if you post your build and stats so people can give advice. Usually it's stuff like life, resists, and your main defensive stats on armor. What you want on weapons and jewelery varies by build.

tbh the idea of classes is very fluid in poe, any class can use skills of other classes and there are no class specific items, the thing that provides class identity are subclasses that provide their own unique bonuses and also the point at which you start in the skill tree ( as yes its also shared)

For a lot of people the core gameplay loop of PoE is basically making one character, playing them until you're tired of them or have enough currency to fund a different build you want to try, and then making a new character to try a new build. It's not like a lot of MMOs where a lot of people just stick with one main character forever and just try to make them stronger and stronger and stronger. Some people do that but I think it's less common than making new characters regularly.

Since theres no way to deterministically produce an item you want, the high end of players are just getting the best items they can and buying tons of bases to roll with exalt slams etc.

Theres a bit of stuff you can do with omens, but nothing great. Ultimately the only way to get the good gear is to just throw an insane amount of exalts at bases and chaos orb ones that are almost there. So everyone in the crafting scene needs them.

It makes slightly more sense in Solo-Self-Found environments. But poe2 trade is just beyond fucked because of the current system

But the other player still needs to hover over the item. This still gets people cause you are trying to get the trade over with so you can play again.

You don't really need two weapon sets unless you're trying to do two whole setups where you swap weapons depending on the skill you're using and are using the weapon set specific passive points the game provides. It's a whole mechanic but it isn't necessary to use it.

You wanna set up things that work well together. I used permafrost to freeze enemies and fragmentation rounds to follow up since it has a massive damage bonus to frozen enemies.

That 20% isn't worth that. Unless you're using armour break and armour explosion to help your clear.

If you're using the GAS for DOT, are you building into poison/chaos/DOT on the passive tree?

Fully frozen so any support gems to increase freeze on permafrost is good. You don't use it for the damage in that setup, you just want to get the enemy frozen as quickly as possible.

Do you have the "recommended" checkbox unchecked? You can use the search bar. More cold damage DOES mean faster buildup of freeze though.

You can respec the whole passive tree, the only thing you can't change is your ascendancy (which is tied to your class)
