I may or may not have forgot to account for the "flex" of parts when making the IRL model. The proper height is most likely 0.2 studs shorter than the prototype.
However, this solution presents a different problem. When testing with the strengthened version, I realized it's possible to remove the tread without disassembling anything. It takes a bit of work and a specific angle to slip off though, so I'm not sure if you're willing to take that gamble or not 🤷♂️
I could attempt a 0.1 stud-accurate height as well

Something as trivial as the flex of parts can cause the tread to fall off, and 9 pounds is a lot of weight pressing down on these feet.
Option 1: I attempt to account for some flex and hope that the design isn't too tight when built IRL.
Option 2: I make every effort to eliminate flex, which might cost stability in other areas like the heel, and hope the design holds up.
Option 3: I add little wheels on springs to ensure the treads are tight. (this would take away from the accuracy to the movie)

for instance, these aren't even proper joints
there's no friction anywhere
and given the insanely small form-factor of these elbows, it'll take some borderline insane engineering to pull off- while remaining as close to screen-accurate as possible

actually "They didn't rebuild Manhattan in a day" is probably more fitting for this project, given that the base model was built my Xon67 and GLAP23 on Eurobricks; we're just tweaking it/giving it more strength so it can be built in real life

like it turns over and starts but only for a second before making an awful stuttering sound
