I have a third potential solution, and that is using a mix of both construction methods

Xon67 and GLAP23 from Eurobricks, who created the original model used as this project's base, did include the allusion of a functional rotational joint here. I think we can use it to our advantage

The extra space between the waist and the thighs might actually be good, cuz the mech appears to have more space between em in the movie

Of course, the weight would be distributed differently in the mech, which presents another problem. I need to distribute it to the top sprockets as well, for maximum stability and balance when posed

In the current version it's pretty much only distributed to the bottom 8, and since the top sprockets are connected by vertical pins, there's a high chance they'll just pop out if there's too much weight

So they both got their pros and cons. One is a mech that cannot feel pain, and the other is a team that work together mentally. If they get ripped apart, they could probably come back together. Where the mech can’t regenerate. I think it would be an awesome battle but as soon as Devastator realizes that the Construct-O-Mech has an exposed cockpit, Emmet is getting crushed and game over
