Timeout is an internal function on Discord, I'm not referring to a standard "muted" role

There is no good reason for ban evasion.

If you're banned from something, use the method the server has put in place to appeal the ban. If there is none, then you're screwed.

Evading a ban by creating a new account is a perfect way to get reported for ban evasion.

@civic plume I'm not sure what you mean by viewing files as opposed to downloading them on mobile, though I think this might help: Files generally either render (ex: image uploaded to chat), display as an expandable file (text files uploaded to chat) or just show that it is a file
In the last case, there isn't a way to view it without downloading it in some way - if your browser supports it, I'd suggest copying the attachment link, pasting it in your browser, then using your browser to open the file - though of course, this does still download the file to a tmp directory, it just gets automatically removed whenever you close the tab/window
Note that this should work for all files, if your browser can render it (executables for example wouldn't be able to be displayed)

Example, the command is /ping, then discord will show the bot's name, the command under the name, and then the second bot's name and it's command under the name

I'll try to write briefly the issue I'm looking an answer for. I'd greatly appreciate help and all or any reply regarding this issue would be helpful. I apologise in advance if anything I mention here regarding Discord is incorrect, feel free to point out the mistake.

I'm not sure this information helps but the "region" I'm in is South America and the issue is that we currently have more than 25 teachers in a server that would use the voice channel for live chat, and including the moderators/coordinators when we reach the 25 people connected in the VC with video (camera, not sharing screen) the channel is temporarily blocked for others to join. We've managed to solve the blocking issues by raising the number of people who can join the channel (e.g. up to 52). However, we thought the current number for video use was 50 (I read somewhere it could be 100 but very doubtful), so we are trying to find a possible solution for this, if there is one. One of the main solutions we thought of would be to boost the server in level 1 so we could check if this limit of 25 would be raised.
Is it possible to have more than 25 people with video on, in a voice channel? If so, how would I go about this? And what would be the current maximum of people allowed in a vc using video?

If you have a way to get back the user ID (eg through bot logs), then copy it to some lookup website and you'll see some "Deleted User XY465SD#1234" or smth like that or alternatively, look at the ban list and it should show it there too, just check which one is the good one
Then copy paste that and send a request to that account and you'll be able to open your dms with that user

I have an Elgato Wave 3 as a mic, and ever since I got it, I have been having times where my mic will just stop being received by discord, and when discord acts up, I also loose the ability to hear people.

This has been for the past few weeks and I'm getting tired of it now. Does anyone know what might be going on? (no other program has these issues.)

There are no software or firmware updates anywhere (OS, Discord, The mic, the headset, etc.).

When I switch the audio input to something else, the mic will respond, but will shortly after just stop. (the mic test freezes with about 5 or so bars still lit up, as if audio is coming through, and when I have the mics program open for updating it, it sill shows that audio is coming through the mic.)

Any help at all would be appreciated, and if you think that I should go to Discord for help, lmk. (Just wasn't sure if this was something else that someone has experienced, and knew how to fix.)

I would double check your input on your system (which I assume is Windows). You can do that by right clicking the speaker icon on the bottom right of the toolbar, and go to sounds, then recording and make sure that mic is the default. If not then you should probably contact support at https://dis.gd/contact, as it might not have the firmware for your microphone

If you can reset your password then yes. Most of these gets locked out of their account, email & password change. Worst case haven't saved backup codes from 2FA, which reduces the chances to nearly 0% chance of getting your account back iirc.

In some cases you get redirected to a fake login site and if you choose to try and login, your credentials will then be stolen from there. And you can change password without a verification, as long as they have your login credentials iirc, but you do need to be able to login. A lot of online users also uses the same password everywhere for some dumb reason. Others might do it in another way, but eventually you end up at the same end-location.

And worst part is, they can change your email and password so damn easily. Because they only have to verify the change on the new email.

1. Losing your backup codes? Ever heard about writing, taking pictures etc and putting it in a safe or folder. Not on your device, because that in itself is a problem.
2. Only having username and password for security is weak and a security risk as well.
3. SMS is fine on certain points.
4. Some countries in the earlier stages of being a developing country, doesn't have many computers outside of work environments.

In discords situation there are worse things going on, regarding accounts and security. Than a simple 2FA. It would be, that you can change email and password, without verifying the transfer with the old email. You only need to verify with the new email.

And it is overall recommended to use 2 Auth EVERYWHERE possible, and change your passwords on a regular basis. So I would say your statement regarding 2 Auth is completely wrong. And You're more at risk without it.

While true, you're committing the common sin of over-balancing security against usability. An SMS hack is a very uncommon, very targeted attack. This is not an attack vector that an average user should be concerned about, and really shouldn't even factor into most people's threat model. What's far more common would be losing account access because you dropped your phone in a toilet and didn't have a backup of your TOTP token. No security is perfect - it all comes down to reasonable protection against a realistic threat model.
