there is some problem with the updater
i assume a update went live sometime in the past 24 hours, which is why its borken now
if i try and launch the app, it will get stuck on the update screen and just load forever
in the files it says the app is version 1.0.9233
if i try and run either discord.exe or the update.exe in compatability mode and also as administator, the update does seem to actually happen
inside the files the 1.0.9233 is emptied and a new 1.0.9034 file appears with all the discord stuff in it,
ofc i cant vc in compatability mode so i still cant actually use discord,
but y'know now we got the new files so it should be all gucci, just disable compatability mode
however, if i try and run the discord.exe in the new file, another update screen comes up again, and it reverts the version back to the old one, and just gets stuck on the loading screen forever again,
so going back and forth between 1.0.9233 and 1.0.9034, and can only make it update if its in compatible mode, and then it refuses to launch once its updated and just downgrades itself

i should mention ive tried doing multiple clean installs, and then using geek uninstaller too try and clean out anything, and its just broken every time

it was just borked when i woke up, i think all thats changed is that discord updated itself,
i had the same issue i am having right now about a month or 2 ago, i spent all day doing random guides on reddit until it started "working", however after whatever i did to fix it, it didnt automatically launch at startup, and the shortcut on my homescreen didnt work either, the shortcut was too the updater, but if i went into the files and ran discord.exe as administator it would turn on

My discord app on the desktop freezes and stops working.. When I terminate (task manager) and restart my pc; it gets stuck in a starting up loop. I have reinstalled a few times, with no change. it happened 3 months ago for about a week, then it stopped.. now its happening again and it started last Wednesday.
I have also turned off desktop notifications, and hardware acceleration; as some users said this has helped (It hasn't helped me).

As for the role page, if it's server settings related then manage roles permission. If it's for the members to select answers to get roles then onboarding is there to allow you to do that

There are many servers on Discord where around 80–90% of the boosting is fake. Some of these are very large servers where fake boosting has been happening for a long time, yet no action is taken against them.

However, smaller servers — even if they only have fake boosts for a day or two or are newly launched — often get action taken against them very quickly.

Why is there this difference? Why are large servers not acted upon, while small servers are targeted so quickly?

hmm, I don't know too much about CachyOS. As far as i know if you're getting it through the Package Manager you will have to reinstall each time. You could try installing through the octopi package manager as i know that handles updates, however i don't know if discord is included in that list but I'd assume so

I'll try it with octopi but it seems like there is another issue still. Discord says version 0.0.134 is available while octopi can only find version .133. I assume it just needs a little time until the package manager has the newest version? Or maybe there is another reason it won't find it. I'm going to investigate a little bit on that

Terminal is your friend, updating on rolling should wait every month or so, developers need time to update, some abandon projects but 3 dead ones is better than 200 not ready yet ones… GCC is a good example for that if you build stuff

With the new "pending approval" feature, I ended up deleting 3-4 different feedbacks because they were left out for years. Make sure the button they are using is written:
Server Mute/Server Deafen

As just Mute is a personal setting that only affects the person applying the mute, whether THEY can hear the person.
