Anyone else been having this issue? So a friend of mine and myself when we are in VC after a little bit we get the RTC Connecting on VC then we have to completely restart discord to fix it and for my friend it happens to him all night long much more frequent than me.

Hi, is there somewhere in settings where you can change your google account used for payment (or changing the region of the discord account of that's a thing)? Currently it's still showing Singapore dollars while I've been out of Singapore since 2022.
I have like 10+ google accounts on google play store and I can only pay on 1 of them due to each account being at a different region. Secondly if your friend got hacked, tell him to reset his password, it should help.

Thirdly, you can't get hacked just by clicking on an image, the most they can get is your PC specs / IP address.

That's not true, when you get banned on discord, they ban your IP from the server, all bans are IP / account bans. Double counter or not. (Double counter just protects against vpns, although they do more harm than benefit.)

You are correct about the IP bans on Discord but I am afraid you are misinformed about Double Counter. Yes it detects VPNs but its main service is alt detections. If a server is set to global detection and a user has been banned on a server thst also used DC, that account will be detected as an alt. That user will not be able to join another server that uses DC and is also set to global detection. If a server uses only local detection, it is per server only. It works very well for detecting alt accounts.

I know this @mossy knot because I spent several months on their server as a chat mod and had to tell hundreds of people the same message.

About double counter, I'm aware of how it functions, I just didn't mention the local / global detection because that's most likely not what's happening. There is a user who is attempting to get a server I moderate banned and I'm wondering if anyone has handled a situation like this before. I submitted a ticket on support.discord.com but they misunderstood the issue and sent me to a page with how to report messages.

The user was banned from our server and they have been joining with alts, sending a few messages, then days later returning to those messages to edit them with links to embed images with gore or other NSFW content. Then they report those images. Because they are editing days-old messages we don't even see them. They have recruited others to do the same in hopes that if they mass report enough messages discord will shut down our server. Somebody they sent messages to took screenshots and sent them to us, which is the only reason we know it is happening.

Is this something we need to be concerned with, or will Discord only take action against the accounts that are abusing message edits and the reporting system? Does anyone have a suggestion for a bot that can detect message edit/embed abuse so we can ban the accounts that are trying to get our server banned?

It is in the permission settings for the server. You can choose to allow members to view channels or not along with history in each channel. You can also make them read only where members cannot type in them.

Discord Support is actually a separate website. Go back to it, create a new account with Support. Use your same login as you do for Discord, but you need a different password.

Once you have submitted your support ticket, it may take some time for them to respond.

But you cannot use the same login for Discord and Support. They are different. 🙂

I noticed few days ago - and it is still there - that, in my closed chats in all my forums (on my private server), some of them are randomly disappearing in the list of the forum. They are still there if I search it by their name and all the texts and pictures are in it, but they don't show up like they used to. I am a moderator on a specific server. There are three specific text channels that I cannot use reactions on... just these three. There are MANY other text chats where reactions work perfectly. I have spoken with the server owner and admins. They tell me that I should be able to use reactions on these text channels. This does not happen on any other server. I had a friend help with setting up the onboarding a few years back and I now revamped it to include 1 ekstra step and make 2 other existing steps required. One of the additional processes I want to setup is to automatically assign a specific role after the onboarding process is completed but I dont get the assign rules at the bottom of the server guide page. from what i have managed to find via google and chatgpt it seems like that channel with the red X "chat with the community" is broken and hindering the process but I cant seem to delete or remove it it just remains greyed out

i have server blocked placed above every other role with deny view channel enabled, and underneath the booster role which has view channel enabled
it seems to override the deny setting and let the boosters talk regardless of their other roles... discord does this a LOT with other permissions. how do i fix it?

Channel overrides are exactly what the name suggests, so those should not be used to configure the permissions in your server fully. If a role should/shouldn't be able to do something, it should be configured in the server settings, consider channel overrides "exceptions". Assuming "server blocked" is a mute role of sorts, you can use bots to take away other roles temporarily while blocked, or just use Discord's native timeout tool.
