A “DM” is a direct message. If you want to ask if you can DM someone, I would reach out to them in a chat you share, and just be like “hey I wanted to ask you about [insert subject here]. Would it be okay if I DM’d you about it?”

That’s based on your security level. The highest level (iirc) requires a phone number to be connected to an account, otherwise the user won’t be able to talk or interact with the server. It does not control their access. That’s done via roles and permissions

Hi. Quick question reagarding Discord role permissions. I have everyone permitted to view the channels that are only readable by premium members of the community. So a premium role would have read message history on while everyone would have read message history off. But for some reason when i view the server as everyone would, i can still read the message history for the premium channels without the premium role. I wonder is this is a bug, or if allowing a non premium member to view the channel, will by default allow them to read the message history. Please help Thank you.

Hey I have a question, so I lost my old account 4 years ago after the email linked to that account got hacked and I had to delete it, which led to me not being able to open the discord account because it wasn't linked to a phone number. I never really tried to get it back since its probably a lost cause without an email, but I still have the account in some old servers and chats and would like to know if there is a way to get it back.
