another common hack people like to do, is whenever a scammer obtains access of an account, they'll dm the friends on that account asking them to "try out a game" they made, and they'll send you a link to click on to bring you to the game's website

Messaging or calling with someone or joining a server can't compromise your account in any way. It all relies on you clicking on a link, scanning a QR code or something as simple as changing your email

No, the way the scam works is you'll generally reply to them asking either "why you reported my account" or "how did this happen?", and doing so will prompt the scammer to send you a PNG of an email they were sent. In this email, it asks the person who was reported to DM a "Discord Help User". This user will attempt to coerce you into changing your email to a "discord staff email" to revert the report. Doing this will give the scammer full access of your account.

why when i create an alt on a completely new email, the exact second its created, discord goes verification required! you have to give us a phone number!

discord officially gives the reasons:

• "joined multiple servers in a short period of time" no it gave me the verification required when i created the account
• "direct messaged multiple users who are not your friends" no
• "sent messages or posted content to communities faster than a human can manage" no
• "used third party clients or modifications to Discord" no, im using discord in mobile chrome, nothing else

just a bit of searching and it turns out this bug had been first reported 4 years ago on the discord support website, it has a thread with a full 3 pages of people begging how to fix it and not a single discord employees commented on it
