Before I begin I want to apologize for any errors that I might make and that any sort of help or advice will be deeply appreciated. This was also made because we were just so desperate for all this to end and I’ll try to provide any evidence if questioned.

Just for context, this post isn’t about me but rather a close friend of mine and I have gotten her full consent on posting about this. She is a cosplayer with a bit of a following and naturally has a discord server just to update fans on events and future cosplays.

Basically who we assume to be the same guy has threatened to release deepfakes of her to her community, her agency and friends. Mind you, my friend wasn’t legal at this point. He first account was banned but he just remade them; he also goes out of his way to e-mail her more threats and bizarre statements claiming to ‘like’ her and that he’s ‘being nice’ for not releasing the video.

My friend has tried to confront this person and they claim to only want a ‘discord anime watching session’ together. All we know about this creep is that he’s from the US, at least that’s what he claims.

I’ve tried to reach out to discord’s support e-mail but nothing has come from that and I genuinely don’t know what to do.

Again I’m so sorry for how messy this whole post is but I’m just really worried.

I had claimed a free subscription of Discord Nitro from Xbox, and I did not cancel it, and today it has automatically renewed the subscription for me, even though I wasn’t aware of the fact that it would automatically renew.
I tried to reach support, and they told me that because I am an Apple and iOS user, they can’t give me a refund, and directed me to Apple’s refund page, but if I try to search for the subscription that I’d like to refund, it doesn’t show me anything, it doesn’t show me that I have purchased it. Along with stealing my account and changing my password, they also added 2FA so I am unable to reset my password. What really made it clear for me was she asked me for this information " the year I made my Discord account , my current age , what country I live in & my email address. " That is when it became clear to me. This was def a scam lol. Now , I don't think my old friend has access to his account anymore. I think as smart as he is , he fell for this absurd scam and they got his account lol. I told this person " I don't feel comfortable with the information you're asking me for . So , I will contact Discords official email and we can handle it from there ".
They then said " If you do not comply I am going to ban your account. " I basically said " go on ahead " lol. I want to bring this to everyone's attention so you do NOT fall for this scam. Be smart! I blocked the " support " person and unfortunately my old friends account. Right after this I changed my email and my password. Not taking ANY chances .I didn't click anything either because they did not get that far with me.
