That's not the correct way to do it either. Ideally, you should be setting Windows volume to 80% and then adjust volume accordingly on the DAC for loudness. This ensures you don't clip output signal. Clipping signal is what damages drivers.

Also, digital clipping doesnt damage drivers, thats been a myth for however long. However, it is incorrect. Clipping may sound bad & can heat up voice coils over long perids a extremel volumes, simply hearing a "pop" or "crunch" from digital clipping at normal listening levels will not damage your headphones

Bit range doesn't change based on volume either. Dynamic range can artificially sound less if you're under driving the drivers. You can offset that by increasing gain through the DAC/amp though.

Actually, if you're using digital volume control (like windows or a music player) you are technically reducing the effective bit depth. Every 6dB (I think it was) of digital attenuation loses about 1 bit of resolution. Thats why people usually recommend keeping the software at 100% & using the physical knob on the DAC/AMP to preserve the full dynamic range

I’ve been using the WS Flux Deep for about a week now, and honestly, it’s the best switch I’ve tried so far

That said, I do notice a slightly higher typo rate compared to Tikken when typing, but on the plus side, my hands feel a lot less tired when gaming

I don't know. I decided to go back to the Flux DC. I'm not going to switch back to the UFO again this morning. Spent the past hour changing keycap sets and then pulling keycaps again to change switch sets. Seems to be six of one, half a dozen of the other between UFO and Flux DC in terms of sound and feel. Maybe the UFO feel slightly better and the Flux sound slightly deeper. But its basically splitting hairs.

The Flux Deep Clacky definitely make the RGB more pink though which I'm not a fan of.

I switched keycaps and switches in it this morning. No matter what I tried at least this morning got it sounding decent to me. I ended up putting it back in the Wooting case with the silicone and its acceptable for me.

There was too much ping for my liking in the Tofu.

I bought sheets of the stuff a while ago. I don't remember the purpose I originally bought it for, but I have enough sheets left of the stuff to put into hundreds of spacebars if I ever get a wild hair to buy that many sets of key caps sets.

I swapped from my UFO back to Flux in my 60 v2 today. I don't honestly know if I can tell a difference between the 2 in terms of sound or stability. I don't like the pink hue the Flux add to lighting though. I don't do full brightness RGB, but I like a little backlight so I can see the keys in my dark room. The UFO don't skew it at all that I can tell.

I guess it doesn't really matter between UFO and Flux to me for sound or feel. I can't hear or feel a difference between the 2. I originally ordered the Flux because they were cheap. I really wanted to try the UFO because of everyone raving about them. I'm glad I was able to get them from Gravastar and didn't pay an outrageous amount for them or I would be upset about basically a weird shaped, clear Flux Deep Clacky equivalent.

I can definitely hear a difference between them and the Nova though. Feel is pretty close to the same. I really like how the Nova sound.

Probably the HE+, or V2 regular. I doubt the PS5 would be able to take advantage of the split space bar. Though honestly, I don't know if hooking a Wooting up to a PS5 would be any more advantageous than any other cheap mechanical keyboard since you can't use the software with a PS5.

I don't remember how much I paid for the Nova's, but they're a purchase I don't regret. I do know I ordered them directly from Keytok, but should have ordered them from Keybay. The packaging they come in is ridiculous. Each switch is individually packaged and there's 10 switches per box ordered.

I took me almost as long to remove them from the packaging as it took to put them in. It was like a 90 minute undertaking. Normally I can do a full tear down and swap in under 30 minutes. But they were a super tight fit into my FR4 plate on my 80HE too. Hurt my fingers with how much force I had to use to get them to seat into place.

I bought a GMK set. I wasn't super impressed by it. I'm kind of irritated I can pretty much only use the set on an 80HE board too as there isn't a 1.25U blank key for the split space bar on the 60 v2 split.

In my experience you can’t really fully compare either as there’s always going to be weird quirks that sways the sound one way or another despite your best efforts

If you want deeper I’d prob go FR4, POM is nice but by itself is a lil harsh so you’d want to pair it with poron case foam or the poron gasket

If you want a more consistent experience while having pretty good stability I’d get Wuque deep clack flux or pink lotus switches depending on what’s cheaper, UFOs are good but they have more switch variance than others and you can’t really open them to lube
