1. krytox 205g0 krytox 105g0 (107 etc also work) a ziploc bag a dielectric grease, regular zinc grease works, XHT-BDZ is good but not as easy to work with (MUST BE DIELECTRIC) an applicator, either a small hobbysit brush or a bag of 500 makeup applicators I would recommend lubing the stabilizers with a thick tipped syringe

Alright so I just tested the geon raws my switch of choice in FR4 and it sounded awful and then in teh PC plate it sounded amazing

So its not about the switch all the time but how you build your keyboard ARound your switch to make it sound bettter

it also uses a full silicone sandwich pad which also contributes to the change in sound

hey guys im trying to do the tape mod on my 80he and ive removed all the screws and the bottom part of the case is not budging and i dont want to break the top case, the video says push it to the back and im trying to do that but its not working. anyone got any tips😭

if you've removed all the screws, you want to have your thumb on the bottom part of the case and your index finger on the lip of the top case and slightly jiggle it forward until it comes off

80HE also comes with a partial tape mod, so if you still are having trouble then keeping it on should still be fine

almost every with a walled stem is already very stable nowadays. Some exceptions like ufo which are more stable, but almost everything is in that similar range of good top with excellent bottom stability

from one switch to another you might just happen to bottom out harder on the given day, or feel more comfortable on the spring weight or god knows what else - so there will be minor sound volume differences just from those factors already
