basically the way you want to think of sound is you get switches that you like and that's 80-90% of the sound, then you can play with plate material, keycaps, case to tweak that 10-20%

so the switch you pick will mostly lock you into that particular sound and the other bits you change will tweak it

Is that still the case or do I need to buy new stabilizers

I have been informed that my wooting 80he has "sticky pads" and I need to be disassembling it (annoying defect with no compensation btw) in order to remove them.

Due to this, I will have to open the keyboard up and I'll have the opportunity to maybe install some upgraded stabilizers and whatever else.

Ive never owned a mod-able keyboard so I thought I'd come ask you smart people what you believe are the best aftermarket stabilizers (if they are better than the stock wooting ones)

Yeah, stabilizer pads need to be removed, because they soak in lube and become sticky. How to remove sticky stabilizer pads
Stock stabilizers are good. If you lube and tune them, they'll be as good as third-party stabilizers. How to properly lube and tune stabilizers

The only issue I’ve noticed with Raw HEs is that they stick slightly when you press them. This is caused by lube being squished between the top housing and stem which can be resolved by wiping it off in those spots (kinda annoying to do for every switch tho).

From my experience, Raw HEs are more susceptible to plate dampening and case foam, so their clackiness can vary. Less than Ti HEs I’d say.

Normally back then or maybe still do now, people that use stab pads tend to lube them with grease to increase the padding and decrease the volume of the bottom out, but the con of this is that over time the grease will also spread onto the stab stem itself making it stick both ways

It’s not exclusive to that switch, magnetic switches have been getting better for a while. Not on the level of mech yet in terms of their range but pretty good nonetheless

Rice Puddings are outdated, Sticky Rices also and they’re loud, WS Dash is a regular Jade recolor (not even the Jade Pro) and Gamerfuel is a Raptor HE v2 recolor (which is a switch with issues).
