I see people add lead tape to badminton and tennis rackets for extra weight all the time. Maybe it's not as crazy as it sounds to use it in keycaps to tweak the sound profile.

yeah but you should be using gloves if you are touching it and tennis rackets also cover the lead tape in electrical tape so you're not touching it when in use

Push the housing with two fingers in the center on opposing sides until it fully clicks in place. Make sure orientation is right before doing so. To clarify, push down in center, but not where the "+" is, rather immediately next to it on the housing.

Hey, I'm thinking about getting a 60he v2 and modding it, I am not really knowledgeable when it comes to keyboard but I would like to make a really great, qualitative mod, maybe with personnalised keycaps. I'm not sure what and where I should buy the different components, nor which ones I should chose to get the best performances, so I'm seeking for help

Most of the common mods have already been done to the v2 stock, changing keycaps and buying some lube for stabilizers to tune them up is all I've done to mine

I’ve also seen mentions of grounding / static electricity when using metal cases, if the board is mounted with a friction fit, is it still recommended to use a screw for grounding (like the top right tray mount screw)?

People keep saying neo lavender he switches are a recolor of gateron jades but they sound so different compared to ws dash switches which are actually a recolor. Lavenders and jades also have a different top housing. Ti 50g left, Lavender middle, WS Dash right (sorry for rgb lol)

I got the stock 80HE plate but its to stiff for me and it doesnt feel that good, any recommendations on other good plates?

tikkens use 55g long springs so you probably dont like how heavy the spring is in that switch. You could try either TTC POM/Raptor V2 (45g long spring), Owlab Ti HE (40/50g short spring)

for plates your top two options are probably POM/FR4 plates which will be a decent bit stiffer than PC (POM should still be pretty flexy, but will sound harsher than PC)

I actually like the overall feeling of the Tikken, the bottom out just feels really stiff while typing normally

I'm planning to mod a 80he and so I'm searching for switches mostly for gaming, what switches would you guys recommend to a newby like me ? Also I don't care much about song and such stuff, I want something highly responsive, precise and stable. then you will find out pretty quickly what range do you like more

Precision will be the same for all switches, if you don’t care about sound you could get the raptor v2 which will have the best combined stability

I never had creaking issues, but they can have spring crunch. If you dont wanna gamble on that, Deep Clack flux has a nice feel/great stability while also having a nice sound profile to it. Mostly just depends on what you want out of it (main thing will be if you want lighter switches, or in the 50g range)

you could also consider TTC POM which will have same 45g long spring as Raptor V2 with similar stability as DCF

there isnt a huge difference, you could be perfectly happy with 50g and not need anything lighter (personal preference). If they aren't too expensive on Aliexpress for you, they are a great first switch

In order for it to not work, the + stem mold would have to be the same size or larger than the box stem
