the a7 ultra is a logiotech gpx clone, it feels 99% same, and it was stronger built, yet lighter than the gpx... buttons were good, side buttons were okay...good sensor. but this maya 8k, literally gotten today... its a bit like the gpx shape but smaller, yet not too small... i am absolutely loving it

So why are there switches with the same travel in the list? What sense does it make, especially if there will be only 12 in the end? Why not have the most common travels represented? For example I have Geon Lucifers with 3.8 so I can just stay on the preset 4.0 and this update is useless.

Tldr is switch selector means the auto calibration starts from a known point up to 9-10x more precise than it did before for some switches

It’s especially nice for the more stable switches as those have a much improved accurate starting point vs pre switch selector where they had to start with the old lekker models

we do need plan to finish putting together a tmr informational video at some point to try help clear up a lot of the confusion around TMR. A lot of the advantages that get quoted for TMR sensors right now are to do with using things like 0.001 mm sensitivity, but the problem there being keyboards can't function or be used at those distances of movement

it's kind of like the quiet part no one mentions is you get gains in the range of sensitivity that cannot be used in keyboards (due to latency and processing inputs getting worse if you do enable sensitivity that low), but then you also get a bunch of downsides with TMR too that you didn't have with current implementation of HE

so no real usage gain and just more issues is not worth at all right now

What do you guys use to just dust off the dust of your Wooting? Like do you guys remove al the keys and just clean them with a really good microfiber cloth?

I take the keycaps off every now and then and use a soft brush (outside) to clean between the switches

I'll also wash the keycaps every now and then with some warm water and a little bit of dishwashing liquid

I don't hear about cutting holes for traditional tape mods. Is that really needed? I imagine with the board likely sitting on top of the case foam, if it's gonna overheat, it would overheat anyway with or without the tape?

it's literally one of first results if you google swagkey transparent keycaps

they'll feel different because they aren't pbt or abs, the two typical plastic options. They're pc plastic which feels different, but is required to be see through. Most don't like the feel or sound of that but that's up to you to decide

When you mention EU and Tax free in the same sentence, that’s gonna spark my curiosity as that sounds like a fairytale. Hmm, I’m not sure about the 80HE actually, cause it uses a daughter board. It’s probably fine if you lay it on the included case foam (that should have a cutout for the daughter board already).

80he uses a rather stiff gasket when compared with regular mechanical keyboards due to the requirements HE has for stiffness and consistent spacing

but i personally dont feel like it is too stiff (i even put an fr4 plate on instead of the stock pc plate)

it could be that you put a lot of tape on the back and it is hitting against the bottom tho

try taking the foam out or the tape off and see if that makes any difference

Could someone recommend any creamy HE switches? I am not that deep in the keyboard hole and I only really find thocky switches. And switches like the Gateron Jade Pro sound different in many soundtests. They sound creamy in a few and thocky in others. I've got the 80HE with a plastic case.
