No, that isn't normal. The visual feedback in Wootility should always show 4mm when you press your keys. If it shows 3.5mm or less, there’s a problem. Either the switch isn’t fully compatible, or you've applied some weird mod between the PCB and the plate and it causes the issue.

I would recommend NOT trying to find an exact match because it will almost certainly not be perfect and will look odd.

One option is to simply buy a second set of Optimum keycaps, and then use the left and right shift from the second set as your split spacebar keys.

They require a dampener to be silent but that also introduces some inaccuracy

It‘s probably going to be ok so just pick one of the well rated silent switches

Just dont run them with the most sensitive settings

Basically what Wiz4rd said. Currently all silent switches introduce inaccuracy due to dampening mechanism at the bottom, so it's better to not use the most sensitive settings.

If those cases support friction mounting, you won't need screws at all. Try a friction fit first, if the module doesn't fit properly, replace the friction pad with the poron sandwich pad and screw the module into the case.

Note: If the module fits in your case with the friction fit pad, it's recommended to ground it using a conductive sponge or by screwing in one of the screws.

I think as long as the value is below a certain amount, depending on your country, they won’t tax you. I do believe shipping companies can differ in how much they change you for doing the paperwork so to say.

PostNL here charged me €12 on top of the tax, but that was a while ago already (package from the US).

If everything was that black and white it would be really hard, expensive and pointless from getting anything outside the EU.
