Yeah they have hidden fees calculated into that, thats why we see alot of times free shipping.
Many times i find the same products, one has free shipping, the other doesnt, but you still pay the same total amount, except it's visually moved into the price in one place, not in the other.
Other factors are probably distances and seller "stuff".

When they have sales or early bird or whatever other type of discounts, you usually just need to think of them ontop of knowing this, so it applies across the board.
