I think it’s more annoying because people don’t just admit they want to spend money and don’t believe you when you say the stock stabs perform just as well

it's almost always like this:
"hey what are the best stabs for my wooting?"
"you can touch up the lube and you're good to go"
"okay but if I buy stabs because I saw x video/website/reddit thread mention using y company stabs, what stabs should I buy?"

then they proceed to buy stabs and have to lube anyway and maybe 1/4 of the time they make their stabs worse and come back asking how to fix rattle

actually i think the annoying thing more with stabs is sometimes people are chasing the 'no movement' stab and they buy stabs and still have issues because they want that zero movement stab which doesn't exist

it's hard to explain to some folks that your stabs are just supposed to have some wobble

I was in the camp of “surely there must be some benefits” and also couldn’t be asked to lube/tune them myself, but after having it for a bit it’s purely a background upgrade that you don’t really see/feel until there’s something wrong.
