To my knowledge, they’re hard to beat.

They’re the most stable MX stem and pushing the current boxstem switches on both top and bottom wobble. Before it was just the owlabs who had nice top wobble, but kinda mid bottom wobble.

Cheap, has goated light long spring, S tier wobble for top and bottom. The only L is the color but that’s a small price to pay for salvation

A copper plate would have to be custom made, and from what I’ve seen, it would cost me about as much as a full GMK keycap set with shipping and everything. Meanwhile, a carbon plate from KBDfans is only $20. Their pingless spring packs are similar. You should be focusing on the bottom out force rather than the inital/operating force btw.

Going based off of what you're saying, you prefer a lighter spring weight towards the 40g region. So far based on the 36g springs you bought on ali and the stock spring weight on the herz and how you're looking at other 40g spring options. You're really not going to find much a difference when looking at other 15mm 40g+- either way. Another thing is that 40g is like the lightest option you can find out there other than Wooting's 35g spring pack even though a 5 grams difference isn't that huge to even notice.

it won't be much different unless you're particularly sensitive to sound/feel

that's why i only recommend lubing for particular switches and if you're picky with that sort of thing

If you did it wrong, it would feel clumpy/sticky when you press down and feel like it got stuck

I had a similar experience with RAWs that adding more lube didn’t do anything

Not a requirement but on some switches it feels nicer

Maybe, but I’ve never tried personally. Only had 1 MX hotswappable board but ended up benching it and not doing too much with it

people are just very picky in this niche, the advice is usually meant more for people really into very small differences

or if the switches are unlubed then that's a different story

yeah i'd only lube maybe 1 out of 10 new switches that get released, and mostly only because they don't come lubed from some vendors like ttc

most switches are good factory lubed these days

Handlubing will generally always be better but whether or not you should take the time will depend on the switch’s factory lube job. If it’s good I wouldn’t bother unless you want to or it starts to feel crunchy/pingy.

i still hand lube them myself when i have time, but that's more because i like to do it once and have perfect switches forever. It's not generally something i recommend to average person
