i think one of any of the split stems is a good buy just to try out and see how you like it - i think they all sound awful, but their stability is very cool

1. As the case had a coating applied on top of the metal case, I used a 2mm drill bit to scratch away a small amount of the coating to make this look seemless (do this at your own risk)

2. I did this 3 times in total (the image only shows one – old image)

3. Once the coating was scratched away, I cut the foam to size

4. Placed the foam near the USB-C port area so that the adhesive/foam made contact with the 3 spots I exposed

5. This is optional but performed a continuity test to make sure the foam was connected to the case by touching the foam with one point and a screw location and made sure to hear beeps

6. Placed the module back inside and done

Yes, anything conductive would work, but I would try to make sure that it doesn't touch any other part of the PCB to avoid possible shorts. If this is done, I recommend a tape mod on the PCB to help isolate it.

Also, some multimeters can cost as little as 2–3$. The continuity test works by supplying around 1V through the red test lead and completing the circuit through the ground path (black test lead). If electricity can flow from point A to B, the multimeter will either beep or display a (1)
