The holes are countersunk (tell the store that as well, say the hole should be 2.2mm in diameter and the edge (4.4mm) with a 90° bit).

The screws you can find anywhere, just flathead m2 screws

If you’re ordering from TB, you should get some 3.5mm standoffs as well, as they’re quite difficult to get elsewhere.

It’s pretty easy and the stores that make the plates are quite nice and helpful

There’s one store that does everything CF, so the silver CF and the forged CF plate you see in the pic are by them

and there’s another store that does mostly plastics

and FR4 too

Yeah, the platefoam/gasket you can just cut an ANSI one and it’ll function perfectly fine still.

If you’re going for a deeper, lower pitched sound, go with plastic. If you’re going for a louder, higher pitched sound, go with CF. And go with Alu or FR4 if you want something in between. :)

if the store makes them themselves, you can ask them if they could make an ISO one as well as you have the plate DXF file. Other than that, it’d have to be cutting an existing one. You can’t use universal plate foam as the 80HE’s platefoam fuctions as a gasket as well.

the downside of box stem is basically that if you wiggle the switch you can 'feel' the up/down and right/left box stem hitting the wall

that's why some enthusiast folks prefer non square box/walled stem switches

it's also the advantage they have in that you don't need to rely as much on rail tolerances to keep the switch from wobbling at bottom out - but it's basically trading feel for stability if that makes sense

owlab switches have shorter travel, so if you hit the stabilised switch on the side you may run into issues of it tilting to the side

so that could be the reason it binds

you can prevent it by using the stem spacer, causes the stab to have the same shorter travel as the switch

With the 60HE, don’t go with TypePlus stabs at all, they don’t fit properly. You could go with SW Knight V2-V3s though, if the issue really isn’t fixable.

My guess is the Ti HEs weren’t in all the way on those keys, they can take quite a bit of force to install them as you know

Nah your board will be alive so dont worry its mostly ur keycaps bruh if that shit goes in too too deep and its stuck its a 100% a keycap issue

Just make sure both ur sides are even out when u hard press it in if not uhh get a new keycap
