With the replacement unit, after opening it up I expected the issue to be the same as the previous unit (the silicone pieces being cut to the wrong size) but that wasn’t the case. With this one, the weight of the brass bar and top cases rests directly on the acrylic slider which is why it’s nearly impossible to move.

So the previous unit was in a better state sadly

As the issue there was only the silicone pieces cut to the wrong size (most likely). I didn’t know opening it up didn’t void warranty then though, so I didn’t open it up.
