It sounds very similar to what my enter key sounded like, 80HE has poron stab pads that can get sticky. You’d have to remove the stabs to access the pads and then you can either remove them (what I did) or just make sure they’re dry if you want to keep yours.

Other than the initial sticky sound I didn’t find anything weird with it

though they look similar to the ttc poms and that line of switches in general, they're slightly different. probably in some insignificant ways as far as performance. mainly the clipping/closing mechanism of the switch is different, everything else is mostly the same

they have marginally a little less tolerance than the POMs

that's with like super up close testing

they are a tad lower in pitch, but keep in mind, my poms have been used and abused so the lube job is probably not gonna compare well to these freshly lubed ones

i would record a sound test, but i have yet to tinker w/my audio interface to record the keyboard

the closest sound comparison i can think of right now is:

think about shaking a bag of broken chalk LOL, that's what it sounds like to me

they do look cool w/my acrylic case and clear stabs so that's a plus, even tho i won't see that 99% of the time

hope that's sufficient!

oh and also the factory lube job is even worse than the poms lmfao, they don't even have the 3 dots of lube on the bottom housing. the sides of the stems are like... just barely slick.

Needless to say, you should hand lube these if you plan on using them

Yeah, I want to say it's something up with the gains of your audio interface because it only happens when it picks up a sound (your typing) that is higher in volume than the noise floor. And then it fades away when the noise ceases.

That's kinda just something you have to play around with until you get the results that you want (if it changes anything at all)

yeah, basically it just increases the mass of your spacebar, so it can absorb more energy and vibrations simply because there is more "stuff" in the spacebar now.
