I talked to Hype about the PP plate and have one coming as well that I'll test. He did have a theory that because the PP is so soft, when people install the plate they do so with the PCB laying on their desk and the JST port creates a bit of angle that the plate conforms to.

If it is, route it with all the cables being compact with each other and leave extra length

If you leave it hanging and the cables just taped on like that and something pulls the cables, thats a fire hazard and everything can go oof.

Ik you seen my desk b4 but notice how my wires are routed in the white sleeve and it's curved cus of the extra length and being "compressed" by the height? It's better to do smth like that to avoid any hazards.
I don't have the best standing desk cable management cus my setup is not in a room with walls and it's not wooden, but cable managing to the best of your abilities and avoiding hazards is always the way to go.
