There are downsides to 7u though. It's can be harder to tune a longer spacebar due to the chance of the plastic having a higher chance to warp.

Well he obviously designed it to be that way. In a typical 60% case, you would struggle as you know. It only takes a tiny amount of extra space to make the difference.

Plastic is plastic and longer caps are more prone to warping. It happens. There are a few ways to fix it but what has worked best for me is clamping to the heating bed of a 3d printer for a while
