this is what i mainly use for case foam

and what Bigsly said is right

depending on how much foam you pack into your case, it will change the pitch and frequency of the board

for example if you pack hella foam in your case, it will become so tight it would be like a wall where sound reflects right off of it making your board more louder.

That top layer right there is plate foam, you place that between the plate and pcb. It changes the sound acoustic of the board between the plate and switches. The bottom piece is what we call case foam, and there a lot of varieties that you could sub it out if you want a different dampening material.
