Yeah its just those 4 switches sound so different from eachother and most people do lore then only stem and spring and the groove in the stem what i did and i have i my head that it probably has a reason like the guy little above did so much lore then me

it's pretty normal for some small pitch differences to happen between switches in different spots

one thing to watch for with ttc switches in particular is you see the 3 holes in the bottom housing - if you cover that with lube it can change the sound a bit (won't ruin the switch but yeah)

it would be, but it's a process. You'd have to sand down the protective layering then do primer and other stuff. There's 'how to paint keyboard' tutorials on youtube

just be aware paint won't be as durable as other coatings when you're done

Hi I recently purchased ScotchBlue 3M painter’s tape which is one of the most recommended tapes for a tape mod and the one I got is the Original “Multi-Surface” one and from what I’ve seen it’s apparently conductive. Can anyone confirm whether or not this is true

As is the case with any hobby or profession that involves touching raw circuit boards, it's essential to ground yourself. Applying tape or just changing stitches when the PCB has no ESD or is not plugged in to ground itself. In OPs example, grounding himself would most certainly have protected the PCB by redirecting the static charge before he touched it.

Honestly it pretty much did exactly what I wanted - cut down on the hollow sound, but didn't change the overall timbre

If you haven't tried it yet, try using 3M bumpon feet on the salvation and a stabilizer washer on the 2 screw mount points. For me it made similar changes to the case sound but wasn't as annoying as polyfil and the bumpons make it sound consistent on any desk surface

identify the top side of the plate, and remember this, the flat headed screws go on top and the standoffs go on the opposite side of the plate which is under the plate. Screw them together at 8 of the mounting points which you can match with the stock plate

Inspect:
I'll note that while the PCBA is coated with a light water resistance coating, it does not fully coat the PCBA, and it is advised that you thoroughly inspect the non-coated areas (USB C port area & programmer pins under the spacebar) for any residue or liquid

Clean:
If you notice anything that looks off or requires cleaning, I would recommend you use 70% IPA Or above (IsoPropyl Alcohol) with a soft brush or Q-Tip to clean the area. This is highly recommended if liquid is not water but a sugary drink or other, as it may leave residue when it dry's that could help corrode and exhibit problems at a later time if not cleaned.

Drying:
Leave the separate layers out to dry for half a day in a dry room. If it feels wet to the touch, leave it to dry for longer.

Reassembly & Test:
Reassemble the keyboard and plug it back in to see if it is working. If it shows any issues such as turning off/on repeatedly, it's best to unplug the keyboard and perform the Inspection & cleaning steps again.
