1/16 = len in inches -> to a inches to mm converter on google.
oh
local hardware store perhaps?
Foam that thin seems pretty niche
the funny thing is im trying to find ultra thin foam, which is pretty ass at doing its job at holding items and protecting them
so a strategy i've found it looking for terrible reviews complaining about how ass it is
because its likely very thin and cheap lmao
i know there is definitely the correct foam on amazon, it just most likely will never say it anywhere
i'm looking on reddit as well to see what other people have found
Ideally you could cut it but you’d need a level hot wire to cut that thin
yeah i'd need some specialty tool to cut that thin
What’s this for anyway? I missed the beginning of the hunt yesterday
luckily i have a 3d printer so i can at least measure the thickness of any foam i have on hand
this is for putting between the plate and the pcb, under the switch
its called the pe foam mod
reduces the sound on the lows and highs, making it more mid-focused
Gotcha
sad space bar
Mighty Gadget (R) Cushion Foam Sheets - we know moving is stressful enough without having to worry about whether your belongings will make it to your new home in one piece, so we’ve produced foam sheets that provide enough cushioning to protect all your belongings. Our foam sheets work perfectly ...
Ah rats
rats indeed
someone tell me whats the diff between these
am i trippin or are they just 2 diff things that do the same thing
correct
Geon Stem Picker seems more secure doe :p
what you use to record?
and yes sad spacebar :(
"make a new switch"?
i mean for the 60he
Like you want options for knowledge or you really wanna buy em
there's the alumaze60
just to know options
and maybe buy them once my parents pay me back
is the random b stock salv still up?
if u wanna take a spin
Josh are you recording w/ Audacity?
i found ANOTHER 0.5mm
lol
they actually bothered to say it on this one
i think my biggest bet is pouches
gosh i wanna get this
I honestly doubt you're going to find thinner. Why do you think you need it at 0.3mm exactly?
do u just order a salv and pray that u get the color u want
if i could find a pouch with a combined thickness of 0.5mm, then one layer would be 0.25mm
yup
it's a gamble
no return
honestly only copper slag id like
the rest of the colours arent exciting for me
oh wait no
so ima put that at the bopttom
the white pattern
that owlabs case seems like the one
not bad too
anyone know how much it cost
...
💰
someone gotta tell hima t some point
relube + jade pro spring = win
What switch did the spring go into?
raw
Gotcha
this could be the one
but im not sure
it says the pouches are 0.5mm thick
im not sure if that refers to the combined width of one puch
pouch*
or the sides of one pouch each
Is there a way to raise the pcb with anything that comes with the keyboard
I would assume each side would be 0.5mm, personally.
?
I don't think anything that came with your board will do that. Sounds like you want some standoffs to raise it up.
couldnt you just cut it anyways?
how do you cut something lengthwise to the preciseness of 0.25 milimeters
no if each side is 0.5
What are the screws for then and can you send me them that will work to even out the height of my keyboard
you just cut the part that connects them
Sorry, I'm not a genie, you're gonna have to do some research here.
then i would have 0.5mm sheet
i need a 0.25 mm sheet lol
at least i think
oh lmao
i honestly have no idea
But generally standoffs are the sort of thing you're looking for.
according to some people 0.5mm can cause issues
K I’ll ask some people
so ideally i'd want something smaller
Just gotta find out the correct threading/pitch/size
but honestly idk
Ai 🤣
Oh boy
My dude comes back with a nailgun and some silly putty ready to go to town on his board
How do geon raws sound on PC vs. CF I have then on Pc rn but I have heard they can sound dead on Pc and sound much brighter on a less flexible and higher pitched plate
cf would be much higher pitch
carbon fiber itself does not make it high pitch
but its literally submerged in resin
which resonates at higher pitch

These good
?
@fluid ravine from my phone, i shouldve buy one of those phone leg for table xD. what you think
is this what you mean? the ixpe foam?
thats where it would be, and i would have to make some cuts to fit it, but it would be PE foam not ixpe
ah the kits sold are all ixpe so good luck in your search
Personally I only liked the softer type of foam sheets that go on the pcb. Not sure what the material is called, but it doesnt reflect light like on the pic above and it's also soft and cloth-like.
foamfoamfoamfoamfoamfoamfoamfoamfoamfoafmaofmafoamfaofma
didn't you just try foam today again :3
it sucked
foam
foam and more foam
foam ruined sound
You haven't added enough to reach the foam peak. You're stuck in a local foam gulley.
@stone flax @calm pulsar what yall think about the tofu 2.0, i think it is a bit more even and soft than salvation
incompatible with 60he
also grossly overpriced
you were right, i finally swapped my v1's on my 60he to the regular jades. lekker really are much more quiet than both raws and jades. by a good amount
yee but bowl
have you sent any sound tests lately?
or is it a general question
^
ah sry let me see
arc quick ask
I think it does have that softness of a mounting that is not tray
@calm pulsar keyboard 1 or 2
honestly now i wanna try frog mini even more ngl
because the mounting is really similar
this is the standard foam setup for chinese boards, tho the ixpe usually fucks with the hall sensors so people usually remove that
i think they just make sure to give you the options is all
you dont have to use all of them xD
untrue
somne makers are just lazy and copy paste the foams to their mag boards
lol 2nd one is very plasticky
these cheap china foam max boards use a thin 1.2mm flexcut pccb
most of the time
so without foam
theyre tinny and hollow and somehow worse
YEAH CALL EM OUT

but the price though
that is on wooting?
i have one really similar to that for 20 dolla
😭
thats about right
no alpha sound test :(
not even individual stabs? :((
meanwhile this is how nuphy does it
i wanted to comment something about the alphas but i need to have a listen of them alone
spacebar ruining my thoughts
uhh my geon fr4 for venom is not that bad sounding, so there might be some variables that affect it somehow
nope havent tried ixpe sheet
stock frrog plate?
all i know that these are sound modifiers when it comes to keyboards
and i dont like using sound modifiers
i tried
they both suck, ixpe more so
it is much less noticible than that first one, first one was pain
1 is my freebird60 with fr4 from Keyboard Fun Store
2 is geon fr4 plate with raws (but I was still using foams in this test so it's not as good, but no such plastickyness)
i mean would something like this be the same as doing the pe foam mod?
@stone flax
it looks a lot easier
indeed, im just not a fan of them overall
hai
ixpe is pe, just a different pe
yeah talking about geon made venom frog mini plate
no i meant
the og one
with slightly different
dimensions
ah the thing is I never had any MX ones for frog
and tolerances and lack of standoffs
yea the mx plate is dookie
flat out terrible
😭
some of the switches are literally wobbling side to side
yeah HE needs that extra tightness for switches haha
i just need to use it for rn until i buy an alu plate from geon
wait have i tried using PE foam mod in my board with friciton pad
man i dont remember
@stone flax im scared I won't receive my luminkey lx60 from Loobed Switches 😦
there's some drama going on rn, people are upset with the owner of that store
first thing that shows up
but i feel like it's the phone audio recording
yeah but thats the thing, its different, so idk how it affects the soudn
some ppl are filing ftc clams and shit, wild💀
same order as phone recording i think
wont know until you try it i guess
alu
@fallen pecan
lemme find an NA link
I think it sounds about right? on the louder side
wtf do I like the sound of my wooting more without the foam then with the foam im leaving it in but my ears are probably use to my apex pro mini

foam doesnt necessarily mean better, it's a sound modifier
could be cheaper from ali
for me around the same volume as salvation with alu + jade pro
true, maybe it's the way it is recorded lol
but spacebar needs very good tuning if used with alu I think
cause alu stabs are usually kinda hollow, so they need more effort I feel like
yea its still a bit fucked
its CAD not USD
this looks like they resell keyboard fun store stuff from aliexpress lol
This is how I used the Modding Kit to Mod Wooting 80HE Keyboard,
please be mindful that IXPE foam could affect Hall effect Keyboard's performance, because it changes the distance between the sensor and magnet.
https://torontokeyboardman.ca/products/wooting-80he-modding-kit
#keyboard #wooting #keyboardmod
theres a video
it's the same kit, but keyboard fun doesnt have the 'foam only' kit
Gamakay silent phoenix on 80he(using long pole stabs so the mods are gonna be loud still)
i wonder if it is because i remove the daughter board
so there is a bit of additional hollow space there
wheres the og one
taobao
seems like an actual silent switch
not sure how normal pole stabs would make em quieter though
on the modifier keys, i believe the stabs are topping out before the switch itself, so thats why you hear that higher pitch
but i think a better solution apart from using normal height stabs would be going with knight stabs which have dampening on the top out
could be the case yeah, if these are full travel switches
The first one can pick box stems as well but the second one is slightly more secure.
hey ive ordered the wooting module w switches and its been at the ups and not hsipped out for over a week, any advice ?
the time you spent on your research man, it’s impressive ngl
Not better, it’s less versatile but slightly more secure. It’s great if you lube only non-box stems.
yeah im planning on lubing my raws soon
Wait
ok
Thanks Jensen
2 months from now
why is that
That’d be correct. They have a travel of 3.8mm compared to LP stabs’ 3.5.
dude im not some goober who cares about the purity of my keyboard
i like the foam sound so i want foam
I like the idea of keyboard purity 😆
sure
Very strange indeed
lol I've been through that as well xd
this truly is the best
and the stabs im using are tx ap, so the bottom is longer than other lp im pretty sure
theres two routes here, he either ends up filling the board with 8 layers of foam and cerakeys, or he just realizes he could buy a board that sounds good 🤯
I feel like this hobby usually starts with "I will install every known foam and tape and they will all stack up for the best sound!" and it ends up sounding dead and just reflects sound back at you
thats exactly what i did with my first keyboard 3 years ago
tape mod, foam mod, ixpe foam mod i think, cotton balls everywhere, lubbed them too much, but it doesnt sound too bad
I think all of this makes your choice of switch+plate kinda less relevant
yeah i just thought more mods = better keyboard lol
Yeah, not great for a silent build that doesn’t use LP switches. Silent switch but loud stabs 😉😄
it seems there's a bit of rattle, but it also sounds even on all sides, like a good balance lol
I feel like you're one step away from connecting foam listings on a board w/ red string
agreed
it is balance
need some lube to dampen the rattle, mostly the top out with the wire
yeah likely
im gonna be running my stabs dry for a few months unfortunately
Won't be able to get my mom to buy me lube any time soon

self harm? bad break-up?👀
same, I installed these designer studio adaptive stabs totally dry
but the only stab that is rattling is the backspace for now
well actually i spent almost 1k within a month
on peripherals
soooooooooooooo
i need to stop spending moni
decided to get lazy until I do my next build in the luminkey lx60, but now I'm not sure if loobed switches will deliver💀
damn what you get
uh lemme type down the list again, dont wanna find it lol
yeah make use of that keyboard you've been modding in this keyboard modding channel
Just giving estimate on the peripherals including tax
heh
yknow me so well
Any inconsistencies with the actuation by the way?
No issues after plugging in, all keys bottom out properly
Sweet

i'm considering buying this
for like $24
just the foam
more mods = more better keyboard
that would be:
ixpe foam
poron sandwhich foam
pet film sheet
poron case foam
gasket foam
foam additions
idk
i mainly just need the ixpe foam
i just want to try it out
Do it
a foamless frog >
my personal experience is some pcb foam sheet is actually kinda cool for HE for taming that thud from the big magnet
but the rest is foamless in my frog build
Mouse+Glasspad+Dongle+Skates: $285
Mic+Boomarm+Xlr Cable: $200
Volleyballs: $130
Volleyball Shoes: $130
Mouse for Nephew: $80
Audio interface+XLR cable for friend: $70
Gift Card for friends: $120
Monitor Light Bar: $30
Arm sleeves for Glasspad (Getting soon, like today in a few minutes lol): $20
@calm pulsar ok nvm i spent over 1k
im COOKED
See the secret is to not have friends or family
whatever i just bought it
living the life
also nice volleyball shoes as a pc peripheral
arm sleeve is crazy

So basically I spent about $725 on myself
wellllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll
heh-
Must have been a good bonus this year
was the xlr mic worth it
yeah im currently using my volleyball sleeves
so i need a seperate sleeve for the glasspad itself
cus my second season is abt to start
no..
a glass pad for the setup just sounds goofy
i like softer feeling
but the major upgrade was the boom arm
yeah boom arm is dope
Elgato LP boom arm
i have an elgato one
I believe you had the fifine one? I still have mine, it's so trash
ay im loving my glasspad
serving me well
ig you can crank more 90's or something
i play Val and i took the effort to learn it, which i learned pretty quickly cus i play on a super low sens
i heard it affects kb sound alot tho
yeah i had the fifine k688
Haha I see you went Wallhack too
now i have the Rode Podmic White
yuppppp
wait what does
I bought the Xraypads Obsidian Reds and Obsidian Air Pros
a mouse pad acts a dampener that isolates kb sound
once my custom guitar is done I gotta upgrade my mic, then the monitors
Just switched to air pros, giving them a second try, it's great for control tbh much quiter and smoother as well
thats why fabric is most common
bet
no...
oh its just on the mouse
lol imagine a glass mat
Wait what are the armsleeves?
for the whole table
its the bowl thats fckin with it i just gonna watch some video see how others set it up
pain but fun
armsleeves for glasspads
prevents problems with skin contact
@icy dew
on the pad
having a pad the size of the kb is so goofy imo
i mean pulsar makes the superglide glasspad thingy
i forgot what they call their glasspads
but they make a whole table size glasspad
or XXL
smth smth
Oh what? Huh, I dont even rest my arms on the desk, not for me then lol
it's a keebmat
with the $300 shipping cost xd
xd
????????
this is the same guy yapping about putting stuff inside his keyboard
i would actually say a keebmat does more good for acoustics than any layers of foam lol
feels as in the looks bro
oh
like usually you have a nice pad covering the whole desk
having it just barely stick out from the kb looks silly
i prefer a keebmat over a deskpad any day for my board
chill guys he probably has a minecraft enchanting table as his pc desk
LMAO
hi alex
For aesthetics wise, i think Keebmats are great in my eyes
Who even is this?
Papa Alex!
alexotos
Sound wise, makes the board sound better imo, well depending on the build
alexotos?
I got the felts material which made my board sound brighter
original just dampens which i didnt want
well here's something funny
my desk is made out of glass
lol
for the board's vibration to travel through my desk
it kinda gives my board more bass on the bottom out
Are you sure?
which is nice ig, but still gonna stick with the keebmat
want the full sound profile of the board
Nah man, that's sotoxela
Y'all are into some different flavors
Now you're speaking my lang
clang
Thack
chum bucket
ay they wanted creamy
Too far dude
im speaking their lang
i wish it said if it was for one side or both sides
I mean, Amazon's got a pretty generous return policy
I mean speaking made up words that apply to keyboard sounds is exactly that

"||Cock||"
now we're talking

bro cant read
I wonder who made that up
probably from some old movie or advertisement
@stone flax andy v Nguyen yee or nah 👀
depends on the board he's covering
valid
I remember his video about recreating the board that made him get back into the keyboard addiction
and it turned out to be a totally different board lol
kohaku?
and then he spent 30 years yapping
all to say in the end
"all those mx blacks on alu videos taught me i liked the sound of mx blacks on alu when it comes to kohaku"
yeah something like that
respectfully, i kinda get bored of his vids really quick xd
so i rarely watch the guy, if there's a board or topic he's covering that im fully interested in then yeah sure ill watch him
i think the only two vids i remember watching from him is prob like about long pole switches and kohaku build
forgive me andy
volume 2000%
its sitting there slightly off center so the sound was not balanced
but i am not sure if i wanna take them out
fck me
don't know how to feel about the mounting point being at the spacebar :(
its a iphone mic so its already loud lol
these silent switches are pretty banger
no crazy mush either
i just need to get proper stabilizers
not a big fan of silent switches at all but these are acceptable for the time being
impressed ig, silent he switch..
yeah way better than those gateron gentys
oOoOooo
tried the cherry mx silent reds as for my first switch
oof
did NOT enjoy a single bit of it
yeah these seem like they are actually like all the MX silents
thats bad
they were SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIItuh
those are very gummy
closest MX sounding switch we got ay?
i would say these pheonix silents feel close to a topre, very minimal mush and solid bottom out
geon raw
oh shi nice
ehhhhhhhhh, it's getting theiir
their still that HE character in the sound profile of RAW's but preferably still best imo
Jade Pros can follow up
it does solve the issue of the thin up stroke and hollow bottom out of other he switches, only issues i have is the overlube
the phoenix?
geon raw
oh
overlube>?
really?
Only area that has been lube that i checked were the stem rails
i haven't seen any lube any where else in my batch
ngl I think the thin upstroke and hollow bottom our are solved my jade pros 😄
yeah some have a stickiness when initially pressing
honestly i would relube my raws if did get lube
but I went even further and did a frankenswitch with the tighter upstroke
oh i don't think that's overlube...
;-;
i had to get whatever bits of lube left and apply it to the top housing to get rid of that
and some lube spilling out on every switch by the LED diff side
it is
didn't geon use like oil or smth
yeah very thin oil lube
hm mine was dry as shit, idk again i slightly lubed mine with krytox and it fixed it
was just a bit messy when removing them since the diffusers always flew off
ok yeah same here
everyone has that problem for sure
idek how the oil got their in the first palce
place
i think they need to revise the hooks with a triangle design so they can slip out easier
oh the buckle design
like the jade pros i believe have them?
yea
Bout to have your nuts clacked off.
i think the only other HE switch i am interested in getting was the AEboards Raed HE dome switches that i linked for the server
those have a lot of potential, hopefully people will like them. nothing like it on the market
true im excited for these
cool new option for HE, not very gamery though
oh when the hail
yeah rgb not my thing really, but i get the concern from most people
shortly before new years
ah
if you refer to my message, I don't mean rgb, but the tactility that might interfere with rapid trigger
the owner for AEboards did say there will be revisions down the line and feedback will be taken
i only used RGB for my esc key so i know what profile im on
but it's so hard to see when my board is tilted xd
oh dude, domes and HE are gonna be a perfect match
the tactile bump on domes are very rounded, so youll be able to control it quite well
ive got an EC dome board with rapid trigger and it feels amazing, no issues spamming either
kinda sorta give up for the night
This is an EC dome board with rapid trigger
Bump is like smoothen through out the whole stroke so nothing like a Mx brown or holy panda
Anyone want to help this fren out
Is it their stabilized keys sticking on bottom out?
I tried to converse with him but his responses were sparse as I am busy also
If so they gotta pull the pads under the stabs
🤷 I’m heading to bed
Hope they get it figured out
already pulled the pads out 😭
Oh then I dunno man
Can you explain the situation fully
Take a vid and someone here may be able to help
oh might be nice then
kk, ill try to do so tomorrow, its kinda late for me rn
What happen?
Stab issues
80he?
yup
yeah after screwing in the pcb
i got recommended to unscrew it a little, but even just putting the screws in destroys the stabs
everytime you bottom out or press down the stab it sticks for a moment then return right?
sorta?
some keys do that
and some just wont return
after removing the pads did you wipe the grease/lube off the pcb and under the stab stem?
access lube and grease can still leave some stickiness
even without the pads
yeah, i did
multiple times
nothing seems to work in terms of wiping
yeah
can you elaborate on this?
Wdym by putting the screws in destroys the stabs
without the pcb its fine, but the moment its screwed in the stabs begin sticking
severity seems to be based on how tight the screws are
but even just putting screws in makes it stick
Wdym without the pcb? Screw in stabs should be tested directly on the pcb
Ah ok i get whatchu mean
yh
hollup
Seems either the stabs aren’t fully in the hole or his keycaps are warped if he’s using stock stabs that is
But yeah folks are going to need more photo video to see what’s up exactly
i was either thinking that it isn't fully hooked through the whole or like he didn't place the stabs in the right orientation
yeah idk, ill try getting a video in tomorrow since its late rn
cus normally it should be normal by default
ah alright
well yeah you can come back tmr
I wouldn't give up yet
kk
what caps?
pbt
gmk spacebarios are top notch hehe
novelkeydelay
but maybe removing/changing something about the spacebar standoffs helps
not standoffs, I mean the mounting thingies
on the tofu
its like deeper but not more balanced
salvation just betta i guess
desperate move rn is drown the switch with lube and see if that helps
yee i know what you mean tried both ways
its still kinda off
That’s more of a design flaw (Gateron’s switches have a notch that prevents this). You can wipe the lube off of the stem and top housing where they interact, that’ll fix it.
lubing only makes the bottom out deeper, its the top out that is hollw af
Tis here. Time to put together raw zinc + Domikey ruby
All I see is red

it'd be sick if you did like idk a heart beat pulse
give the board some visuals of coming to life
idk just a thought
idek if wootility has a rgb setting like that
lu
Thanks might try that for a redo vid lol, if I can find it in app ofc
"Jelly " is probably the closest thing to pulse, but you have to manually activate to the beat. I tried doing that on a previous build video.
Bit confused so on KBDFans, I tried to purchase with PayPal a keycap set and every time I hit Continue it forced exit the paypal place and sent me nowhere
Think I’m doing something wrong but the key caps fit my desk mat

still weak, but relatively better, without having to cope with foam and stuff
just no spacebar standoff & no spacerbar bowl (edit: decided to put the standoff back on but just no bowl, makes alphas sound loose without the spacebar standoff
with spacebar standoff the echo is just goes crazy
ayy, another full sized HE
but not compatible with other HE switch tho
also not sure if they have full 1k scan rate
The Lemokey P1 HE is a 75% layout wireless magnetic switch custom gaming keyboard. Featuring advanced elements such as Gateron double-rail magnetic switches, a knob design, a gasket structure, advanced acoustic foam, and double-shot PBT keycaps, the P1 HE enhances your gaming experience and elevates your performance.
Their cheaper cousin
And same issue
that's 75%
Ohhh my bad
I meant full size
This is so dumb tho
Are they trying to lock people into their ecosystem?
Wooting 2HE comes out to be the same with shipping to Malaysia (assuming shipping is like $70 with tax)
So keychron full sized is a lot more expensive
You dont have a forwarder you can use?
I just order straight from wooting
I do too but sometimes I have it sent directly to a forwarder and it avoids tax
But only works on lighter packages, anything heavier then you get into tax territory
$250 for keychron Q6HE wiht shipping, ~$230 for wooting 2he with shipping. But with wooting you get their software and compatible with a bunch of other switches compared to Keychron.
Seems like a no brainer
also wooting firmware and support too
Tak said that but yeah
aww man my 💯 went away :(
If you like knob I guess keychron is fine? But if wooting managed to figured out knob with HE the benefit of keychron is basically gone.
I wish the 80he had a knob
👀
shafie woke up
Ahem… volume knob
Wooting knob 2025.
I have a separate volume knob just chilling there and it gets hard to find in the dark
just get a dac
Would be amazing if they could create a magnetic rotary knob that you could clip in to a switch holder and boom
Actually I dont really care about a knob, but will get it if they release. Think it will look cool on 80he
The only HE product I think keychron make that's actually worth is the ergo/special layout and potentially HE numpad
I have audio equipment already
yee use the knob there
Its even further lol
other than that, it's priced soo highly that you might as well get wooting
I have a basic one right in front of my keeb
Yea I dont know why would anyone buy keychron, maybe for wireless? but then it kills the whole point of HE
Lemme find mine
its more for just solving the static problem cause by high power load on pc
something i learned after getting 6950xt, apparently if your gpu draws a ton of power then the motherboard audio jack would have static no matter what the motherboard brand advertise
not really
Ah done.
i mean i have the Q1 HE but its generally a pretty good experience
it's still faster than most mechanical kbs, but definitely among the slower HE kbs not the slowest tho
yeee tease that knob instead
Nice pair
Mmm, wanna see eye joker test it
Looks like blood stained sword
But my keeb looks different now
I wish they made keycaps sets like this with shine through…
more like this
lol

What you think your keyboard looks like vs what it really look like
looks nice. I may keep it for week or so then swap it over to the optimum case
How many wooting and wooting cases do you have?
That is dedication
With rgb
Just a couple cases for each wooting
red led bar
Wooting PR ™
lol
looks really nice with rgb, pity i don't use rgb so it's a bit wasted there lol
it does work nicely with the key cap though
yeah metal + red translucent works quite well
Do you have a button there on steamdeck that opens wooting discord haha
Nah that’s for auto join voice channels lol
one for close friends discord, one for valorant etc
Are they worth it?
You can map it so it auto joins a specific voice channel in specific server with one press
I was thinking about getting one
I like it, but I bought it mostly cause it made streaming stuff easier and it was my job so business expensed it
And can you turn down the brightness?
it’s just a really fancy macro software basically
Yeah I get it, Im just worried I may not use it much
I think so, I’ve never actually looked at the brightness settings for the led lol
It's more handy for me for just doing frequently used stuff. Like the wooting button you see is actually to open chrome wootility page
just multiple action stuff where i'd have to do 2-3 actions I just macro into one button on stream deck
Finally got home to some goodies
new keycap day is always fun day
Yeah I would appreciate that
Ty
It looks nice
Twinning
actually my cf plate gets here soon so that's when I'll probably change keycaps again lol
have to take apart the keyboard anyway to do that
hi does anybody know the how many mm the spring length is for gateron jades?

regular jades are 14 or 15
pretty sure theyre 14
thank you! any chance you happen to know the length for the lekker switches aswell?
lekker a tiny bit longer
oh forsure thanks
im asking mainly because I'm seeing the gateron jade PROS have a '20mm customized spring' so wanted to see the differences
it's honestly not an important thing
actually I think jades are 13mm and lekkers are 14mm
there's some +- is the thing, so technically they're probably all '15mm' lol
20mm springs are nice
but with the '+-' thing going on, that means throwing lekker springs into jades will have a different effect whereas if i threw em into lekker switches, no?
i'm fairly sure gateron advertise theirs as 15mm for the jades
I think first one
you're not really going to notice difference between 1mm there
it's more the drastic differences you'll notice
but even then it's still personal preference and honestly it barely matters and after an hour your fingers get used to whatever spring it is
this.. I put an L70 spring into a jade and lekker and they feel completely different ):
i only notice spring difference in that first bit when i'm swapping between switches and boards then you totally forget afterwards
well yeah but now you're talking about spring weight and not spring length
length is different to spring tension
oh really
yes
^ 1mm small diff, 5mm bigger diff
im under the impression that because it's shorter/longer in length, the spring isn't resisting(?) the stem against my finger on the jades compared to lekker
end force feels like it bottoms out near what the stock L60 is
nah what you're looking for is spring tension force
you can have 2 springs that are both 50g-ish end force but one is 15mm and another is 22mm (which is kind of what happens with say jade vs ttc magneto pom)
this is actually the type of visual representation i was looking for, thank you so much
so if you're wanting to know how heavy or light is then you want to ask about spring weight/force and not length so much
it's more of me finding out 'why' the L70 spring felt so much different on my lekker vs jades, and seeing the '20mm customized spring' made me wonder if that was the reason
oh well l70 is way heavier for one
let me find that essay again
L70 = 70 end force
The design of the two-stage spring makes it longer than a normal “one-stage” spring. This means that the spring is compressed more than a one-stage spring during the unactivated state, and it reaches its bottom out weight more quickly. This makes the downpress feel more firm and consistent, as there is a smaller range of forces between the beginning of the keypress until bottom out or even actuation. In addition, the upstroke after lifting your finger is noticeably faster, meaning that there is the ability to rapidly repeat keystrokes in a shorter amount of time. Two-stage springs are also less likely to have spring ping because being more compressed even in the unactivated state means that there is less room for the spring to move/rotate around.
Hey guys i’m looking to get a matching keycaps with this, any ideas ?
your regular lekkers and jades are 45-60 end force, depending
there is no 2 stage spring in he yet no?
so L70 springs will always feel much different even just from the force difference
at least not good one
idk but this applies to long springs too
more manus need to swap to the nice stacked fitted tray keycaps like osume and domikey
get all your keycaps nicely in order and never half upside down
I like KBD’s tray
Was thinking about getting some of those linworks trays that fit in GMK boxes
on the other hand, i have ali keycaps that came in with bubble wrap and tape
Are they good (enough)?
It’d be nice to be able to use the GMK boxes
I eat the gmk tray
Haven't tried them myself bu the description on cafege seems to think so https://cafege.com.au/products/linworks-keycap-trays
Two of the Lin Trays fits in the new GMK boxes. Unfortunately we do not sell in sets of 2 but the 3rd tray can be kept for other types of keycaps like XMI and CRP. Product Information A triple level keycap tray that fits inside existing GMK Sleeves Material : PET Thickness : 1.2mm Colours: Clear Each set comes with 3 t
🥰
is it actually edible?
Biodegradable and edible are not the same thing
do you actually wanna try?
😭😭
ehh

too lazy to bring up the tray

I was pleasantly surprised, thank you for appreciating

And to keep it on topic
hello im looking at getting a optimum 60he but i dont know if i should get l45 v2 or l60 v2
Any previous experience with he switches?
I thought it was the B-21
no this will be my first he keeb
It can be very subjective. I found the lekker 60s too heavy and the lekker 45s too light. So I use Geon Raw 50g
i was looking at those, what are they like?
Apparently the craft exhibit no visible means of propulsion, no rotor wash, etc. they just float for hours.
The claim is that its like dropping an iphone off in the wagon days… so reverse engineering is slow
Amazing!
I use only Geon Raws 50g on my boards
Some will recommend Jade Pros too
They are perfect middle between the 2 lekkers wooting offers
ok thanks for helping
Also the geon raw and gateron jade have shorter travel distances
Raw is 3.4
Jade is 3.5
Lekkers are 4.0
If you play fps and bottom out then you will also notice a faster response with geon raw/jade pro than from the lekkers
ok thanks
Hello first time modder here, tbh I have everything together and I’m pretty happy so far, I just need to get some keycaps now. Are any keycaps compatible with the wooting 80he? Or is there some specific I need to look out for before I order keycaps
(Note if anyone has any suggestions for some light blue colored keycaps I would appreciate tremendously thank you so much)
almost all are good
look out for mx compatible
Any cherry mx compatible should be fine
So I should specifically try to look for keycaps that say MX compatible?
@paper parrot @ionic breach Also thank you both so much I appreciate you tremendously 🙏🏻
Its very rare that a keycap set isn’t mx compatible so you should be fine
nope just find one that has a + stem ur good
Thank you!
Thank you for your time to reply!
light blue is also quite hard to find
admittedly i dont really look out for them
u have a budget tho?
For keycaps? Not really. I will spend whatever amount necessary tbh
