Alu cases do indeed impact the sound and feel of the board. Usually with alu cases compared to plastic cases, alu tend to make the sound profile of the board more brighter as plastic is lower in pitch in comparison. The sound your keyboard makes when bottoming out on a alu board has a more solid feeling compared to plastic as mass affects on how the switch feel on bottom out.
