With the switch sheet, you wouldn’t use the silicone. You can either use foam or nothing. With switch pads, you can use whatever you want as they sit right under the switch and do not hinder the silicone pad.

i had 0.5mm poron switch pads, at best 0.5mm could already mess up the actuations of the switch but since poron was a really soft foam, it took in the pressure of the switch leaving a big imprint on it

if anyone wanna use a sheet of foam under a HE switch, it's best for them to use anything below 0.5mm

From what I experienced and know, switch pads and the PE foam mod has major difference in sound. Switch pads only yet ever so slightly changes the pitch of the bottom out depending on material while the PE foam mod boosts the mids frequencies while reducing the highs.

you can undo the screws between the plate and pcb and just gently pull the pcb aside to put on the friction pad for optimum. that way you dont need to take your switches out to add the friction pad.
