this is the write up someone else made before people start calling bullshit

more abrupt bottom-outs which results in receiving feedback more often and easily, if you directly compare to long poles with 3.8mm travel then they often don't bottom out as harsh depending on your typing cadence.
Especially if you have a balanced weight, that isn't too light or heavy but makes it so that typing feels more floaty, then it doesn't cause much feedback to your fingers
Being too heavy is obviously fatiguing when you need to apply more force, but being too light means that you also bottom-out at the touch of a feather, which causes feedback
Depends on each person
Standard long-pole travel has been 3.5mm for a long time, but there are various releases that go under 3.5mm or above it
something like 3.2mm is quite "short", and 3.8mm or 3.9mm is considered more forgiving
No matter what, long-poles will always feel more fatiguing than rail bottom out switches that are 4.0mm simply because they dont use the pole
Long pole is popular because the feeling is more solid, and often times it results in a more noticeable sound
Again, its all preference, there's no correct answer

this is why using a lighter springs on raws hurt more, despite him liking lighter springs

I think that’s just true. I did notice that the sound has an influence on how I perceived the feel, as crazy as that may sound.

Technically, if the stem of an open-bottom switch is slightly tilted when it bottoms out, one side will bottom out first, then the other. Perhaps that slight mismatch is what causes the change in feel.

and it’ll always be titled to either side, I don’t think anyone can press it straight down.

I think you need plate mounted stabs. The screw post interferes with the oring. You can make it work with screw ins, but it is very tight and hard to get out if you need to do anything
