or an easier option i think

just a haptic feedback upon activation more similar to browns

but atp i think it could mess with crt since a small vibration could be enough to slightly bump your finger in some cases

even a light haptic feedback

I bought some screw-in stabilizers, Durock V3, and spent 2 hours lubing them all and band-aid modding them. I put them in, and the band-aids I used were too big, I think, and when I put the keycap on, they made no noise at all and were sticking a bit. I gave up and took them all out, and I just put back in the plate-mounted ones.

You can leave said backing on, and use the natural suction/stickiness of the smooth side with even less risk

The plate is attached to the PCB and is isolated, so any flex from the plate and the PCB would move with it, therefore there shouldn’t be any interference with the switches.

Also considering wooting sells one of the most flexible plate materials there is and people don’t have issues.
