haters will say lekker v1s arent peak
reall
Those arenāt haters, but realists

I kept a bag of my og lekker v1s to keep on hating
same
Geon cables came !
yipppeee!
the usb-c connector is nice on this
First gen Steelseries Omni Points
cable mod is from china too?!
Everything is from China
it came from the city i was born in, omg accidental W choice by me
Yea I like the gold and blue tips
that's cool
just brought the tofu 2.0 plate for venom
wow
they need to send me my new 80HE plates fr fr
super nice, never seen venom in tofu 2.0 yet
wallet bleeding hard rn hehe
brought a hot swap pcb in case my shaky hand clicks on frog leggra
What you think?
Iām not that old I guess
#š§ākeyboard_modding message just in case
sold out as a completed pack + 30 shipping
oh okiee
should i keep the stock stabs on the 80he or replace them
If it was solely mx there was deffo nicer stuffs out there
oh yea 10000%
Could u have tried a salvation at this price
maybe aftermarket

hey i mean i brought a stock wooting he so what can be more stupid
i have a salvation rn :3
stock is gud
You might need to lube or wire balance depending on your unit RNG, but other than that you donāt really need to replace them.
Just ran it on 80HE, Tachyon mode, 100% RGB brightness. No hiccups
Sleeving is this nice textured silicone/rubber feeling. Looks and feels like good quality.
Plus the added bonus of it looking like you could pull a freight train with it š
Do I need to order a fiction pad separately or will the optimum case/wooting have one already
iām thinking of getting these pbt key caps any thoughts?
sure why not
Optimum case has it
A lot of thing and option for a base kit. Very nice.
Bet, now just tell usps to deliver my shit
Is it saying label created for you?
Nah it shipped out but says itās been sitting in Memphis for like 4 days now
Iām bouta start tweaking here
I donāt got it like that, big dog
GL tho
most stuff from pbtfans is phenomenal
i believe that is the dracula set
hmm
dude ik you got a defect but its very rare lol
xrays?
when i broke 2 keycaps by being dumb they sent me new ones free'
Pbtfans cracking has been a known things for years in the hobby
wdym rare
if anything its improved
and it was my fault for sure
i have owned 2 sets of pbtfans and have used them for like 3 years only one damage and it was 100% my fault
i mean it happens ofc
and cs is not ideal
but the amt of freedom pbtfans have over gmk is nice
its kinda worth it
freedom? Does gmk take your rights away?

i just feel gmk is stiff in design
If you dont know how to look sure
Can be hard to navigate
because the artist is scared of it performing not well
its getting better tho
thats why its nice to show interest in icās
i have a lot of gmks im looking forward too
help em out
im just not a fan of abs in general which is why i really like pbtfans
are switch films necesarry for the geon raws. i want to get a thockier and more dampened sound so thats why im considering them.
nope
just add more foam
why not films?
they just dont need them'\
are the switches already super tight
Dont do that
if you want to make your keyboard thockier maybe use a tape mod lots of foam and thick keycaps
Dont do it for any HE
yeah no HE needs films
what type of foam specifically?
they all have different sound profiles maybe poron for what you want?
how thick of poron
im not sure about what fits in the case tbh
go for slightly porous
maybe ask someone else for that
dont just fill the board with to the brim with a dense foam
it wont give you the most muted sound
What case
me too, just make sure it fits
im getting xda keycaps so they're shorter, will 6mm fit?
Odd question but does anyone know a wkl case that can fit the wooting pcb?
6.25 wkl?
Cursed af lol
I donāt think just the case comes with the friction pad. It does!
the optimum case?
It does
No i dont think so. It is mainly wk only but you can try
Oh damn, didnāt know
If it is compatible with gh60
So you get the case and friction pad in a separate box?
Canāt find shit on the optimum page
If u need wkl get a venom
i think so
actually didnt a lot of people get 2 friction pads?
It was a selling point in the video
Two?! š
ya i think they packaged one wrongly, so they just added another one in the package or smt
and they just told the guys to keep the spare lmao
He probably was in the batch that swapped over because initial batch didnāt have friction mount inside the box
Sure but you can ask it here as well.
okay i dm yea
so they did the package like the first batch but he had 2nd batch optimum case that had another inside already
Still needs the black portions added on the windows (planar arrays) and one ring then done
was unpacking kbdfans package and found the designer studio adaptive stabs in there
I forgot I ordered them lol
we will see
Oh man nice
Yeah let me know if I should order those so they can sit in my basement for months also

When can we see?
I wonder who else is sitting in your basement for months
starry nights??
nah just smoky black
decided to build my 60he module in freebird, so I will post soon
yey
will go for black pom and friction mount this time
actually went with kbdfans CF cause never tried it
YURRRR
fuukkkk I forgot screwins dont work in friction mount
hell yea arccccccc
dead ass?
huh
like Iād have to use clip ins for spacebar and backspace
im trying the spacebar rn with the adaptive stabs and it doesnt seems that good, but I also havent installed geon spacers yet, cant find them
imo, Alu plate is a challenge with HE, needs a good case
Excuse me, does the poron switch pad or PE foam mod affect the performance of rapid trigger?
Where can I purchase the salvation case?
yeah it is less forigiving to stab imperfections and different extra noises like that
damnn im so used to tsangan now, I'm constantly typing the \\\\\ symbol š
okay my verdict is
tune your stabs kids
these adaptive stabs arent bad, they are good modern stabs just like knights, but they still need lubing
cafege alu plate with the softest tadpoles seems kinda nice, feels soft
Sounds good bro
Froggin šø
can't go wrong with any set on silver frog
Nice x2
I think you have a black alu cafege plate right?
mine seems even nicer than geon venom alu plate, not sure how, maybe its the switch cutouts being less tightš¤
does anyone know any good looking white nordic keycaps ive been looking for so long but i couldnt find any for my 80he
Your budget
depends how good they look ive never bought keycaps before so idk what a good budget is but from what ive seen probably around 40ā¬
Then you have to look on aliexpress and amazon
we should have a pin for those compatible switches. I bought a few magneto TTC ones and they are good, but you can't use o-rings on them because of the box stem. Pushes the keycap higher. So I need to purchase non-box stem switches. Jade pros the best atm? Just need a few for testing.
I mean Wooting has ISO Nordic white shinethrough
also, i think low profile HE switches don't work with Wooting HE boards right? Could we get some low profile in future, so I don't have to use o-rings to shorten distance?
i was looking for keycaps that look better than the basic ones wooting gives with some design
does wootings coiled cable work with tachyon mode?
Akko Bun Wonderland
PBTFans BOW base?
what about PBT cherry profile keycaps - BoW from omegakeys
those are way too basic to be spending that much money on
what i had in mind is the white and black lined one in wooting store or that higround uses but in nordic and for the 80he
or i seen a printstream themed keycaps but i couldnt find a nordic one
and this is way too overkill and i wanna keep it white themed
is clip in or plate mount stabilizers compatible with the wooting60he
what about a topographical keycap set
Some nordic keycaps
https://kbnordic.eu/keycaps/
expensive quality keycaps don't have to be in your face
just saying
but there are a lot of interesting ones
but thats what im looking for also i already have normal white keycaps as backups if i dont find anything better
XVX Topographic New Version Pattern Shine-Through OEM Profile IMD-Tech Keycap Set
check the materials
to see if its PBT
i found some on aliexpress but its hard to see if its nordic because it doesnt say and the pictures are too bad quality to tell because the letters are on the side

keycaps look good but its not nordic layout
if only i can american i could buy any keycap set and it would work
oh right
these are truly some 1st world problems ill just go with the normal white keycaps then ty for trying to help
Are they good? i wanted to buy them
good in terms of what
quality they re kinda looking fire but quality can be bad
i wanted to buy them but i have for now keycaps from razer mini
yeah pretty much
Ur buying it for the shinethrough tech
Don't own this particular keycaps but own their low profile keycaps and they're high quality
Not bad for $20 https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256807683687360.html
So should i buy them for 60he+ module? with tofu redux white case
If you like them and think they're worth it, go for it
The 60HE module
u still need dsiwtches
Switches*
I've geon raw he ordered
ah nice
Yey
how would one go about grounding his 60he+ module with friction fit in the acrylic tofu60 ? ik for the aluminium one, you could just have 1 screw or solder a thin cable from any ground point on the module like usb shielding to the case(maybe a scratched part for solder to work)
but like, in the case of the acrylic one, there is nowhere to discharge beside the usb cable
or do i get some sort of metal weight to fit in the brass plate hole and use that ?
I was thinking of buying this but its not doubleshot is that fine will it change the sound alot?
Also will the letters go off after some time?
Meh
Itll be fine
I hope so else ill buy different ones the keycaps dont cost too much anyways
do ihave to change stabilizers for the geon raw he
no

looking froggy
when do those go back in stock

the case or the caps?
Oh true my b lol, they probs meant the case
LMK how you like them I just bought them too
theyre good switches
I bought the 50g ones since I use my keyboard for school/coding as well as gaming

The stock lekker switches are so heavy
yeah i just purchased them
theyre about mx red weight
hope theres no issue like the gaterons with the stabilizers or whatever
if there is, buy stem spacers
geon raw good
Yeah, O-Rings with box stems are tricky. Especially with the big square box stem of TTCs. You could try putting the O-Ring in the bottom housing (where the stem slides in) if itās small enough, so itād function similarly.
Current low profile magnetic switches are indeed not compatible with Wootās boards. Their travel is 3.3mm, the same as Jades so they wouldnāt help much. I hope an actual low profile magnetic switch will happen, would be interesting to try.
Yes.
thx
Depends if you have the 60HE or the 60HE+
Yeah
hai
did the mailer give an estimate or tracking #?
Ill be gone for a bit next week from home so i hope it goes to mailbox
yeayea
Yeah itās in an envelope
thanks
Is it a good idea to put foam in here to improve spacebar sound? (80HE, ignore dust)
Itās only for metal cases. Not for acrylic ones. So youāre fine. Take the 60HEās stock case as an example.
aight ty
š
preference
Yeah it should help if your space bar sounds hollow, you basically wanna try and fit it into your space bar crevices inside
Yea, i did this additionally. Was not sure about the foam "inside" the keyboard, since there where some open contacts
Iād remove the center piece as it muddies the sound and makes it sound bad
Should be good after that
Interessting, gonna try that
It makes a huge difference
I didnāt think it would but @sacred elm proved me wrong on that
yea center piece makes it mushy
Yeah mushy is a good way to describe it
With TTCs especially
Foam bad
Removed center piece and it indeed sounds better, now it sound more similar to the other keys
center piece makes it quieter but mushy
true, its louder again, but i prefer the sound now
Nice!
probably the box stem pushing against the foam?
Yeah that probably doesnāt help
you cant fully press the switch when there is foam in the middle
nice man, i think it worked lol. I put the o-rings under the stem, but then it just went over the springs and towards the bottom. Now when I close the housing, it doesn't travel as far down as a switch without the o-rings (I put two but maybe I can fit in more). š
Felt like i could, but the spacebar feels more bouncy again, thats what i like about the ttc magnetos
Thanks all for the advice (:
I wish the Jade gaming didnāt sound like complete shit, interested in the max stability of TTCs but idk if I could ever handle the sound š
jade gaming? that a new switch? lol
Boxstem jades that released a little after the max/pros
The name is a little goofy
oh the clear ones? thought they were RGB focused, not nec gaming.
Theyre called gaming
bc yes
no actual reason
These
They sound super plasticky compared to pros :/
Helps you speed run your marvel rivals ban with boosted fps š
real
apparently it's all the rave.
lmao, lemme try to find the other ones. I swear there's another one not called gaming.
ah yes, the jade max
i gotta see the diffs between max and gaming, lol
Not under the stem, in the center āpipeā of the bottom housing, so when pressed down, the stem bumps into it. It shouldnāt touch the spring.
ah yeah, i thought about that as well, but it would still have the box issue? How would the stem square get past the o-ring and through the clear housing?
Hmm, let me see if I can find a pic
lol
Maxes gotta be some of the least smooth switches you can buy for $1 per switch š
ah ic so, jade gaming is the box stem variant.
so less wobble.
and not a clear stem ofc
ok i see u mentioned boxstem lol.
wonder how they compare to my 8pc TTCs i'm testing out.
prob same
@sage flicker in there.
ahh yeah ofc, that's where it ended up anyway. The o-rings slid down the springs and into that area. š
It shouldnāt touch the spring though.
The spring is on the outside of that āpipeā.
Not as good
I have both the jade gaming and ttc magneto pom. The jade gaming have a tad more top wobble and I can feel its box stem
Hey so I am currently using a pc plate on my custom wootring but am looking for something a bit more soldid, and also would like to have a black plate so I am thinking between fr4 and carbon wehats the sound difference between the two?
Carbon is firmer
and the sound profile more clacky like steel or more dark aswell like pc?
still touching it though
a dark sound profile! š£ļø
interesting. glad i got the TTC then.
Your O-Ring is a bit big so it canāt go in the āpipeā?
I think it should be more clacky, but without some of the pingyness of steel. Iām ordering both CF and FR4 to test out
nioce, definitely getting a carbon fiber plate then
although I don't even really notice wobble that much anyway. do you guys? When typing/gaming?
Iām excited for it too
possibly lol. I see what you're saying. Could go smaller diameter and have only the stem touch it. That works too.
need cf
I have a dark gray metal case and dark gray keycaps so I think this will look very clean
i think these o-rings are the standard mx ones u get from amazon. You happen to know the diameter of smaller one?
Yeah. You do not want it on the outside touching the spring.
but it did work though technically. Is there a downside? lol
Iām running Jade pros on mine so Iām looking forward to max clack š
Pc plate too dampening
btw I'm using metal keycaps and I think sound profile changes most with the material of keycap. Ceramic and metals give you that thonk.
Smaller thatād fit are the same size as travel limiters/washers so an outer diameter of 4mm (or less), an inner diameter of 2mm (or less) and a thickness of 1mm (or less).
I havenāt tried it like that but Iād imagine it causes inconsistencies with the spring. Maybe unwanted sounds as well.
gotcha thanks. will look it up
For the record, that's not me
oh i bought these a while ago and was confused because they were so small. They are super tiny lol, so these types of washers always go in that hole you mentioned? And only stem touches it. This versus the keycap o-ring method. Is this method better?
Yeah they go in that hole where theyāre separated from the spring. Itās not better per se but for TTCs itās all you can do really.
If itās better or not depends on the type of washer/O-Ring you use.
You want it to feel consistent and without any issues.
Let me know how they are. Iāve never used fiber washers, just plastics or rubber.
nice. think i found the rubber ones. thicker than the .5mm fiber ones I have. I'll try both, heh.
how often are you meant to relube switches

Does anyone know where i could buy a cheap coiled cable for my wooting?
I want it now
In black
wooting
Like 10-20 bucks
No
You won't find a cable that works with wooting well for that price
what night said
Wooting sells one that is good, but it's like 50-60$?
Ill see what i can find
55
Im pretty sure
Wootings is confirmed to work with tachyon at 100% brightness
whats trhe averge wpm typing acxtually?
Probably very slow
probabably dead average
octopus š
one of my aliexpress coiled cables works perfectly fine with tachyon mode
i think it's kinda just rng in quality
but also length matters
remember that
I type like 100 avg
more if you count mistakes
still donno if its avg or good or whatever
i was getting 145-150wpm with 100% accuracy on my old blue switch keyboard
im getting 100 on wooting
aight I guess
i have a typo every other word when doing these
yhea without accuracy its around 90 for me i think
managed to stay around 110wpm with 100% accuracy but then fell off massively
Without punctuation or with?
only commas and dots
Idk what mine is with that
On full punctuation I'm like 70-90
With none I can get like 120-130
damn u guys caught on to monkeytype also? Started using that recently as well, lol.
my WPM went up by shortening travel distance btw.
also been trying different wrist rest heights.
for me I use the wrong fingers for a lot of keys still
cant get over 80 comfortably without making a lot of mistakes tbh, having actuation at 0.3mm probably doesnt thelp though lol
yea you will have a lot of typos with 0.3 actuation
3.5mm actuation feels nice
2.5mm actuation def helped with accuracy
okay enough now
i think 2.5 feels perfect for typing
Does someone know what are the 10 o circles that you get with the module? I donāt know if itās o rings or o stickers
Itās O Rings
Itās not gummy itās like a sticker
Heart
O-Ring stickers for on top of your caseās standoffs
A worse burger mount really.
So what o rings should I buy I can buy it at a local store instead of ordering in online but what size should I buy for this I am using tofu60redux if it makes any difference
I wouldnāt do burger, itās not worth it.
Can you recommend on Any other mods that can improve
Try the frictionpad from Woot
I will take a look
Itās like $14
But it will be easy to fall from the case doesnāt it?
No, itās really secure.
https://youtu.be/xFCu2hSg-oQ Tofu will sound similar.
Many requested a sound test with all the new switches in the Wooting 60HE. Now I can please all of you with a proper friction fit sound test! Switches tested in the video are the: Lekker V2, Genty Silent, regular Jade, Jade Pro, Jade Max, Magneto RGB, Magneto POM and the RAW HE.

how do i make my jade pros sound creamy
lube them
Kinda hard to make jade pros creamy isnāt it? Due to the closed bottom?
If you use tape that isnāt very sticky like painters tape itās fine. Very sticky tape like duct tape is a no go.
All TTCs except for SEs do.
If you mean the upstroke silencer
whatever the correct name is.

I believe sticky rice / geon raw he. It is pretty hard to achieve creamy with he switches, but usually lube is good
Lube springs + give a decent bit to stem and it should be creamy enough
i lowkey donāt wanna get sticky rice
and for some reason i thought raw and jade pros were similar lol
Iāve heard of issues with overloading the pcb or whatever
alr then will do
they are similar, but have some differences to them
i js tested out whatever the factory lube was

I went overboard with stem lube, but hereās mine post lube break in on zinc
has a noticeable pitch difference irl than stock i found

Oh kool
You mean scratchy clack?
sure
oh when i look at it online it sounds way more scratchy than it does irl tho
but hwen i get time ima js lube it
I noticed my pros were slightly scratchy/plasticky stock, so I went overboard on lube and eventually it corrected itself and now it has same sound volume but has a fuller sound now
are there any good switch openers for he switches cs the one i have rn its so hard to take the bottom part out after opening the switch

they sound too similar and ik switches sound different irl
in my opinion the geon raw he
Ppl will give you different inputs, but if youāre torn between the two and the Jade pro RGB hasnāt scared you off just pick it out of a hat tbh
I prefer raws but I would check out sound tests

is the venom 60 compatible with wooting plates? should be the same right?
6.25 u variant maybe, but still not guaranteed
Shine through keycaps with legends on the side like that will be quite dim. Woot has north facing LEDs, south facing LEDs would be optimal for those keycaps.
so the legends will be a lot dimmer than on the picture.
If standoffs line up, but I doubt they will.
not confirmed yet the 7u version will not tho
i got the 6.25 so maybe i am chillinš«”
yea there is a good chance it is compatible especially with the high quality work we are used to seeing from geon but it still isn't confirmed
just try to see if the standoffs are in the same spots
Out of curiosity and not doubt, when was the last time the compatible case list was updated? Wondering if there are more cases that've been discovered to be compatible.
Specifically for the 60HE
I vaguely remember seeing someone mention on reddit that most gh60 cases work, but obviously that could be untrue
I'm doing it, gonna try out a friction fit on my 60HE in the alumaze case š¤
Gonna add a grounding pad
Idk if it's been updated recently or nkt
Was trying to find a case in there with wasn't on the list
But I found a reddit post from over a year ago mentioning that it was compatible and wooting even replied to the post
that list is outdated
why would it be untrue
60he itself has mounting points that conform to gh60
prolly what i gonna end up doing xD also asked in the geons dc maybe hes gonna confirm it
T_T
just dont use standoffs bro
š§
I say it could be untrue cause there isn't solid proof that all gh60 cases are compatible.
Just a healthy amount of skepticism (and money)
not all gh60 cases are compatible
I know... that's why I said it could be untrue lol.
answering your question of "why would it be untrue"
Could be or is?
Lolz
could
gotcha, lil misunderstanding on both sides

has anyone tried spacebar foam
what is your experience with it. I ordered it because I thought my space bar was too loud
did anyone here try glorious HE switches in their wooting yet glorious claims they are 'only' compatible with their HE board but it sounds like bs https://www.gloriousgaming.com/products/raptor-he-switches
been waiting ages for a tactile or clicky HE switch i rarely use the analog input
hall effect is just a better switch technology in basically every way even if you are using a fixed actuation point
got sick of shitty tactile and clicky switches where they actuate right before the point or have chatter
Gotta know what the polarity of their magnets are to know if they're compatible, unfortunately.
Not optimally afaik, you can use them just fine but they have weaker magnets. So to use them properly you can only set your actuation point between 0.15 and 3.7mm or so.
They are just recolors of cheaper magnetic switches
I wouldnāt recommend buying them just because theyāre way too expensive
are any other manufacturers working on hall effect tactile and clicky at all currently that you know of
Woot supports both polarities optimally, just the magnetās strength is what matters.
No, not that I know of. Thereās a mod you can do to make Lekkers or Jades clicky though, if you want.
what is the mod
right now have frankensteined raptorhe with the red housing and the lekker stem and some aliexpress stainless before the wooting spring pack came out
got tired of housing wobble and light springs
They are omly compatible with their board.
If you know who to ask, you will know
?
@violet grove Hereās the original and much cheaper version of those Glorious switches: https://a.aliexpress.com/_EI55zgc same applies, not optimally compatible and youāll can only set your actuation point between 0.15 and 3.7mm or so.
Pink = Linear
Red = Linear
Brown = Tactile
Blue = Clicky
same as cherry.
so you think they are worse quality than doing something like the mod you did with combining switches
one of my favorite switches other than the poor QC and inconsistent actuation points were kailh box navy with the heavy springs and click bars
got tired of having to 'bin' the switches for keys like wasd because they would actuate just resting on them
the leaf contact would send a signal before the click bar
This is super interesting and i might give it a try
I personally donāt prefer clicky switches but those Outemus or Gloriousā switches arenāt of great quality. Theyāre quite scratchy and the click/bump isnāt clean.
wow
i just like very sharp tactile bump with hard falloff and the thing that does that the best is click bar or buckling spring and they both happen to be clicky
dont really care what it sounds like
used to use IBM model M and model F daily
got tired of the un-usability for gaming and issues with stuff like converters to usb
high latency and trash polling rate
or lack of NKRO
There are AEBoards tactile magnetic switches that should be releasing soon ish.
The click leaf mod is really clicky when used with Jades, less so with KS-20Us but you could grab a few and try it for yourself.
Itās a lot sharper than the Outemus, thatās for sure.
When you're right, you're right. I had tried one of my Jades in my Q1 HE and it just did not work, so I didn't try the other way around. The nebula switch in the wooting worked - not well, mind you, but functional. TIL.
one of the main reasons i bought a wooting board is i finally got tired of everything having a large debounce window and/or key chatter it was a tradeoff
any gaming type of board with low latency had horrible switch chatter eventually
1-2 keys would start ttypping likke this
bad technology
capacitive and hall effect make it look like a joke
any leaf contact switches
I guess the sensors in the Q1 HE are somehow only for specific polarization/orientation? Or maybe very specific magnet strength?
Nebulas are extremely interesting by the way. They are from the KS-37 series which normally arenāt (and never will be) compatible with Wootās boards because their magnet orientation is horizontal rather than vertical. The Nebulas are the only KS-37 series switches with a vertical pole orientation which makes them compatible (but not yet optimally as they still have weak magnets). š
Oh they're sideways! Huh.
Still curious why other switches with presumably stronger magnets just don't work at all in it
do wooting boards just 'adapt' to the magnet strength or whatever and that is why
it just wont work as optimally as a lekker
Most likely, yeah. Wootās boards were previously only compatible with the north polarity but Simon released a firmware update which made both compatible. š„°
what do you have to do if they are backwards is there a switch in s/w or does it auto detect the orientation
Yeah precisely.
Gotcha. Yeah I dunno, I popped a couple different wooting compatible switches into the Q1 HE and they just did not function at all. This test I just did, the other way around, they were picked up but only showed up as having ~3.5mm travel distance in Wootility, presumably b/c of the weaker magnet Aligner mentioned.
That doesnāt matter for boards compatible with a vertical magnet orientation. For boards like the Q1, the switch orientation does indeed matter and they only work one way.
Finding switches compatible with the Q1 is tricky. I donāt think their firmware can adapt very well.
Q1 isn't a bad board, but boy do I regret not realizing ahead of time the switch compatibility issue. There's basically their way or the highway.
I heard you can do some housing swaps for the Jade Mini (or some Jade variant like that)
It still baffles me why they went that way. Essentially having only their switches compatible.
Yes you can. I believe it was a stem swap. So Jade Mini Eās housing with Nebula stems.
I guess vendor lock-in? They do show up in brick & mortar retail which is an advantage to getting people to buy in.
Yeah not sure
I should maybe do that since I suspect the Q1 is going to be inherited by my wife in the not too distant future.
To a certain degree, yes. Wootās boards can handle switches with stronger magnets than Lekkers quite well but weaker ones not yet (optimally).
Yeah you should. Iād say itās an upgrade for sure.
sigh šø
And I know she likes the jades already too, cause she tried out my 80HE with them in and was practically drooling over the sound. The things we do for love.
(assuming they're similar enough in feel/sound)
They are. The Jade Mini Es are dual rail, compared to regular Jades or Jade Pros which arenāt but besides that they are almost identical.
Sound is similar, total travel is as well.
Awesome, thanks for blowing my money for me bud.
š Youāre welcome man.
i wonder if the aliexpress switches have the same type of spring as lekker
Depends which switches.
they are flipped ks-37's
Is heatshrinking the stab wire a bad idea
id really like if those could just have the 100g wooting spring pack put into them but may just have to order and find out
already have the springs
All Hejin (Grain Gold (Manufacturer)) have the same springs as Gateron does. They are cross compatible.
i have unpopular keyboard preferences
very heavy springs and clicky/tactile
dont care about sound signature
um those in conjunction are especially unpopular
the heavier the spring the weaker the bump to an extent
There are springs on Ali compatible with most magnetic switches.
TwT
@stone flax
Why would you?
Less clearance
heavier springs partially overcome wobble near top of keystroke and inconsistencies in the travel it seems like to me
thats better than bandaids
Which stabs?
stock 60he
No idea what that is in finnish XD
Donāt go through the trouble man, just tune them.
T_T
it makes sense for really thin and malleable wires relative to housings like cherry
but at the same time
Eh, I wouldnāt really say that but I get what you mean.
i really doubt he needs to do this
So is dielectric grease better than basic lube??
doesn't seperate as quickly for wire
yes
only other thing id wish my keyboard would have the option of is a metal case but its two HE so nobody will ever make one
hmh
unless u have a stabilizer that doesnt need a lot of lube in the first place you should opt for something like bdz or grease for wire
would have to make one or get a quote from a machine shop which would be more expensive than the entire keyboard
Files are public, make one yourself. š¼
yeah ive thought about it
Just pick up a milling machine np
would end up doing it out of mild steel probably and just painting it after or bluing it
Yeah, it can be fun though.
well I dont think i will find dielectric grease
Unless you live on the moon, itās really common.
Most hardware stores have it.
Just makes it a tad bit more of a challenge. š
can I just use this
it atleast is a nice big one with a 40 spindle instead of r8 or some dinky one
can run large endmills
It just can't be conductive. Don't save $5 and ruin your expensive keeb.
Thatās for ball bearings, Iām not sure if itād be right.
well i cant find it
wth
Doesn't look like finland
bro
it is silicone grease that is clear
itās not possible that there isnāt a hardware store near you that has it.
I wonāt believe it
id assume basically any CLEAR silicone grease is non conductive
idk i tried to translate it and found nothing with the name
just search dielectric grease
see what happens
not translated
Or maybe non-conductive grease?
try 'spark plug grease'
I only find result from online stores
If shipping isnāt a whole lot, then thatās fine as well.
Maybe you can search on the site of a hardware store near you?
I tried
https://discord.com/channels/167181566978555904/1313929030646366280 hes rgb is so good
š
I'd call the store and talk to them. Just explain you need some non-conductive/dielectric grease, I bet the person working there will know what you're talking about and will let you know.
Adhesive?!
@tawdry tree
Bruh guess im gonna just leave them be
Huh
They arenāt shine through legend keycaps?
wooting sells a lube kit
with molokyte
if u were able to buy a keyboard
Can always order off of AliExpress.
u can buy lube from them
aasdoi hasdfhuisadhfusdh
aliexpress lubes
šš

itās fine
id say just buy wooting lube
U just told me that the whateverfucking grease was better than lube
now u tell me to buy lube
?
its a kit
chillax
then look on aliexpress or amazon
TwT, do this for spring oils and grease not for lube
unless u wanna pay big prices on krytox
or overpriced ali lube

these are legit right?
yeah but I mean if he doesnt want to pay 25 euros for a kit

ya
alright putting htem on the 80he
amazon links getting longer every week
with stock stabs, heard the spacebar can be weird
which keycaps are u using?
not the stabs the plate
steel plate makes the space bar sound really "unique"

he could be talking about see-sawing
Eh, will probably be fine. If you encounter any issues then you can get spacers or long pole stabs.
has anyone tried spacebar foam I ordered sm not sure how it will go?
it was only 5$ so idrc tho
wait doesnt the 80he come with a PC plate?
Itās can be alright.
it comes with a PC plate yea
so it makes it quieter and deeper? thats what i want
It does, why?
Can someone send me a link forspacebar foam
was just confused bc the steele plate mentioned here
what are you planing
It can, yeah.
To buy it
Depends a lot on build though.
what are the best wooting switches rn?
define best.
jade pro and raw he for closed bottom goodness, ttc koms for stability
cream thock
marble clack
geon
ohh sick combo
oh ya
im also still iffy on using the stock fr4 plate without standoffs for the frog build
does the venom fit the snake board?
but you said it should be fine right
this one?
holyyy
lemme find the pcb
what is that š®
i remember seeing this have one of the shittiest ic posts of all time
very non descript on their website
also 570 dollars where ur whole gimmick is a snake you can NEVER see in real use
is

yeah when I tried it the switches were holding it in place very well
I think you're fine, the combined force of all 60 smth switches will hold it properly
plate mounts or screw ins?
at least you need quite a bit of force to separate the plate with all the switches installed
Is that a sexual thing?
if you want it to be
oh and stabs will help too haha
I used screw-ins
brother
the saddest thing is the fact its an fr4 plate
š
ill probably buy an alu plate down the line
from geon or someone else
what are you guys talking about
once plate files release
Plate mounts would be optimal so thereās never any pressure on the PCB.
itās gonna be tricky
putting keycaps on. ^
I was on alu for a long time and switched to fr4 and it became a bit softer feeling, which is also nice from time to time, so it's not bad imo
well the thing is, the standoffs are actually on PCB and not on the plate for venom
WHAT DOES GYATT MEAN?
Gyatt or gyat is a slang term that is used to express strong excitement, surprise, or admiration. Gyatt is most commonly used as an exclamation in reaction to seeing a large butt (that is, the buttocks) and may be used as a noun to mean a large butt.
Learn something new every day here.
I did squats today, my gyatt is popping.
hmMMMmmmmMMmmmMMm
okay the term came from the onamotapoeia people made in seeing a huge rotund butt
like
u see a butt
you go
"gyottdamn!!"
it got contracted to
"gyatt!!!"
My quote kinda failed
When you put pressure on the stabilizer with a keycap, the PCB and plate didnāt separate?
basically a way to say "goddamn!"
TIL!
That should happen
hmm maybe I was installing caps with the pcb just laying on the table
or maybe they were installed alrdy so I didnt experience it
Yeah, no problem when the PCB is supported.
This happened when Cam tried the frog plate with the 60HE
w/o standoffs
putting keycaps on was kinda a pain when the board is already in
arc, do you have fr4 + jade pro sound test?
so if you donāt swap the caps and put them on before, itās fine.
tbh I frankened my pros immediately when getting them
I only have an fr4 test with raws, and also there is poron foam, and I kinda dislike foam these days
would you say fr4 is way stiffer than pc?
I want to get stiffer plate for my 80he
pc isnt it
Facts
fr4 is for sure stiffer than any plastic plate, cause it's like a pcb essentially
It is
I liked fr4 with my jade knights
interesting, then i might go with fr4
which stabs are you using?
ah, then youāre good
other popular dense plates would be CF and Alu
Shafie should def order both FR4 and CF
yea i kinda dislike pc plate for games that I play, its too soft for me. I enjoy 60he with steel plate way more than PC
the hype fr4 plate is for plate mounts, so not all stabs are compatible.
Definitely not sponsored by the keyboard fun store or anything
yeah then fr4 or other denser plates will help here
haha I have so many plates from them
I think 4
lol
nah ill just get 1
probably fr4
Thatās close to 2 tho
but ill wait for you
I might get brass at a later date
It has some weird properties to it that sounds interesting in some tests
tell them to change their plate design pls š
If I get up to 4 plate purchases then maybe theyāll listen to me
btw I found some weird venom compatible plate on aliexpress
ya but it all depends
let me look it up
flex cut fr4 vs thick pc plate for example
da hell is FCFRP plate
Hyperboring is wild
looks like it is multi layout
carbon fiber
ahh okay
probably means "forged carbon fiber something something"
forged carbon fiber for role playing

these plates are looking nice btw, I like that they are for pcb mounted stabs only
yea the salvation build will have an alu hyperboring plate
and it supports both 7u and 6.25
very baller
very poggers
yes thats where i got mine
These 80he plates are all Ali specials for now, right?
Only sold on Ali you mean?
Yeah
there is a chinese manufacturer that does wooting stuff since 60he was around, but maybe they sell somewhere else too
Just havenāt used Ali before and I donāt think Iām ready to

I got a shitload of stuff from there
yeah that
oh itās called modding kit lol
Bless you all, thx
way more expensive than on ali
wait lol it has an alternative to the silicone insert???
that's huge actually
I always thought 80he is limited to only having the silicone thing
cause it's how it mounts
Yeah doesnāt the silicone act as the standoff from the case? Not sure how foam could replace that
Itās a lot less stiff probably
