Yes
Performance matters to me first and foremost. Then I usually I look at acoustics and such.
Thank you
Sorry if stupid questions new to keyboard customization.
no stupid questions
I usually just buy off the shelf stock of whatever is the fastest and roll with it.
what do you guys consider to be the best lube for stabs? or just the one you guys use regularly
those are 2 completely different questions
meant to say "for" lmao, misstype
that would depend on the stab too
xht-bdz is goated for stab wires, but you only really use it on stabs with enough space for them
all the newer gen stabs run off just 205g0
that one guy that was in here said all stabs are basically the same and the wooting 80 stock stab will do just as good as any other one i could buy if i lube and tune it right
yeah and the lube you'd use would depend on the stab
so stock stabs would be xht-bdz for the wires and 205g0 for the housing, non stock stabs likely just 205g0
alright tysm!
hawt damn this xht-bdz is expensive
ope nvm i was looking at a 10 gram jar
11 for 3 grams is still on the pricey side but it aint bad
oh btw what size brushes do u recommend for lubin up this stuff
just any small brush is fine. Most keyboard stores sell brushes for $1-2
krytox seems to sell a 3 pack of size 0 nylon ones for 10 bucks
ngl i dont think i have a keyboard store in my vicinity
i mean anywhere you order lube 100% sells brushes as well
Does anyone have recommendations for custom keycaps for the Wooting 80HE? Iām looking for something unique and was wondering if swapping keycaps changes the keyboardās sound.
most keycaps wonāt make an audible difference unless you get a tall profile, like SA or MT3
I know keychron's keycaps are interesting, especially the ones used on the Q1 HE keyboards
another mod vid i found, this time it's a cf plate swap + gateron stabs: https://streamable.com/hdv9iy
Watch "wooting80heę¹č£ å ØęµēØ-å°ē½ä¹åÆ仄äøęēęēØ-(480p30)" on Streamable.
glad we get to see new plate materials
You ordered one?
I got the FR4 plate
i dont have a 80he
ah okok
Still using my 60he
least i want to do now with my board would be upgrading PCB to + or venom
or try out new plates
POM, PP, and/or ALU
FR4
ima skip on fr4 respectfully
LMAO
not saying it's bad or anything but i just want something "noticeably" different in a way
Carbon Fiber
i have cf in my board currently
it's bright yeah was a huge difference comparing to PC
i didnt enjoy PC all that much with raws+gmk caps
same wasn't a fan of PC
Hello, question, does the keyboard still have the rapid trigger/analog features if I use one of these compatible switches? Or does that stem from their own switches?
Yeah all im looking for rn is like the "lively"ness of ALU and some softer sounding plates without having to sound dead like PC, POM or PP
i just rate CF as bright in general lol
RT, RS, Analog features etc all comes from the PCB and software within. So you can choose any of the compatible switches with them having different preference factors in terms of sound and feel while being also functioning the same like all others.
Okay thank you so much I appreciate you. If you dont mind me asking, Iām not quite sure what the headings mean in that sheet? If it isnt too much trouble, would you mind explaining them? If not its totally cool too
Brand meaning what manufacturer the switch was made from
Model, the type/name of the switch that was made
Polarity is the type of magnets being used compatible with certain pcbs
Initial force is the weight to begin pressing down the switch (we use gram force)
Bottom Out Force, the weight to actuate the whole switch in general till it hits the bottom and up
Total travel is the distance of where the switch start to end (top to bottom; 0mm-4mm)
Bottom out magnetic flux, i have no clue š
Type, the type of switch it is like linear, tactile, or clicky
Top housing, top housing material:
Bottom housing, bottom housing material:
Stem, stem material:
Compatible with Wooting, self explanatory
Pls correct me anybody if im wrong about smth
IMO, I would love to see more webpages of Wooting talking about what magnetic flux exactly is and how it translates to use in keyboards, also for their HE sensors
especially how it varies with distance
shown with diagrams, maybe even switches with different polarities and Gauss
Agreed
Tbh I'm not big on software or anything of the crap about how HE works at all
I'm just here still at base 1 on this topic but still just understanding things in general about it
Me neither for software but Wooting actually makes it so damn intuitive and fun to use! I am interested how magnets and the Hall effect works, if you havent seen my profile mood
software for mechanical is pretty boring
for HE its actually really fun to tinker
i didnt even know they sold new plate materials for the 80
not sure about the shenzhen part cos that's pretty general, but everglide is called jiangwan in china
not officially, these are all third party
gotcha, i wonder when reputable companies are gna start makin em
kbdfans should have some in the works
itll be interesting to see the sound improvements/differences between them
Thank you very much sir. Much appreciated
Switching from Alu Switch Plate to PC Plate, what's your opinion?
dareu's latest HE board, top spec comes with full jade pros + ceramic keycaps, $130 on the top end, dual 8k, 0.02mm rt
oh is the flood of 75% oem latest gen about to happen
ye ive seen a few pop up
this is totally going to be the same pcb as the drunkdeer 75u thats coming
and probably 5 others lol
that's weird, what are they saying is the benefit of the jade stabs?
pom tpu blend, softer downstroke + demagnetized wire
and factory lubed
it's not from gateron btw
demagnetized wire seems like bizarro nonsense
i rmb rainy75rt having similar marketing to their stock stabs
i'd like to see one brand partner with like swagkey and offer knight v2 stock
that would be pretty crazy, although lord knows if they could ever do that because seems they have issues scaling production of those
are the gateron ink v2s actually bad or just meh?
and none of the keyboard brands would want to drop their profit by putting in pricy stabs like that
just average, like most stock stabs. Was nothing wrong with any of the stock stabs i had recently honestly
cos i see a lot of 80he modders putting those in when plate swapping
alright ill just ignore those then
i think that's just a china thing lol
also this nonsense, 0.01rt, 32k scan, ttc koms
in korea it's all tx and knight v2 on everything since those are the stabs that are popular here
they somehow managed to do all metal at the 110~120 price point
probably very cheap square case design
has weights too
the budget war is honestly over already though
with mad60 and mchose or whatever it was that was the other $20 keyboard, no one is going to make any money making budget keyboards now
lol
the ttc kom as stock is an interesting thing
i don't know if they're good stock switches to have, because they're so accurate, but the sound isn't for everyone and they have no factory lube
i feel jade pros/raw he are better to have as a 'this is my keyboards stock switch' for most people
they need those to hit 0.01rt or else customers would return en masse
ive seen clips of the madlion boards ghostwalking all over
cos they use switches that are not up to the task
i'd like to see wooting upgrade to geon raw he level switches but with more tight tolerance magnets and that'd be goated
basically a wooting brand jade pro
Does anybody have them?
i imagine there's gonna be a price bump, and a major one at that
no, just released
nah wooting doesn't do that
at least they haven't yet
they usually just put that into the keyboard as an upgrade in all future models at same price once they decide to upgrade a part
a jade pro recolor could be possible tho
since gateron does do recolors for diff vendors
i don't think they ever want to work with gateron again so i doubt thats on the cards
but i could see a geon raw he recolor with better tolerance magnets
was there drama im not aware of?
no real drama but gateron just repeatedly screwed them with poor communication and randomly doing things they didn't want
like at one point gateron randomly changed the lekker molds without telling them and it caused friction issues on some batches of wootings
so they moved away from gateron with lekker v2
lekkers are hejin right
yeah
Gateron and bad communication?? Never heard that one before
i forget where geons get made
ye feels like it
funny enough, couple of madlion switches are also hejin
and ive seen a couple of bili guys warning to not get hejin cos it was so difficult to get them off the madlion plate
it'd be funny if because hejin used the wooting design for some of their switches and it made their other switches also too tight like how lekker v2 are too tight
they make Jade Gaming clones too. I donāt remember if they came in the Mad60 or a different cheap board.
Not sold separately, yet.
Good for consumer at least
should be the similar colored one
but fuwaa, the flood of cheapo 75
the 24.38 switch
i think switch update + deadzone adjustability toggle with a 0 added deadzone starting point would be what I'd like to see for next year of wooting updates at some point
i don't really care much about sub 0.1 setting stuff, but now that wooting is officially going to be adding ttc and raw switches that can handle less deadzone, it'd be neat to play around with it
instead of the default +0.15 or whatever deadzone it has right now
ye setting deadzone would be a nice starting point, the anti wobble is optional as ive seen people who refuse to turn it on
and then gonna see people requesting .01mm actuation points
i think venom has a nice middle ground right now where they offer the 0 deadzone option, but don't offer the sub 0.1 options where it's questionable consistency
man knows what he's doing thats for sure
the board i showed earlier, should also be using the same firmware as mchose ace60/68, atm being the best firmware on the market for dual adc
Yeah
Dual ad carry?
adc should be converters
but might mean something else in the marketingš¤·āāļø
Guys should i order black ghost or frost case prob ill use pudding from hyperx black or white or sum like that https://www.amazon.com/dagaladoo-keycaps-Topographic-Percent-Keyboard/dp/B0CH2KSD7J/ref=sr_1_3?dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.SUyoTCEfR_rX0ELQt9fCPjI034ZanBivQey1ynhx_Me4Zf5sNv8AyhDJFyRgN901jKgvQJt1-ba7g3kBObTryQaz1_0ll2nyiaBhNobK5ICTSLnvqIQMLxvsOZcBKm7LcDEKWYmF3QxKIH_8EyUGG78xIEwcww-xBL5_3yUG3I1sHFKLrdjOkbt4IoRfwjdLiDg3nXObvxYe8cd1rQ_X5a-D21fOu22EQDTmhBo6YBE.MUnTLUYAayH0qhYdQZ5xYJMk-YdNkn2ZmG4qY3Fcv74&dib_tag=se&keywords=canyon%2Bkeycaps&qid=1733938706&sr=8-3&th=1 š
which caps do you like more?
guys what sound better jade pros or geon raw
decide for yourself: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LKID0ORh1xk
Hey everyone! Since the Wooting 80HE is finally in people's hands, I thought it would be helpful to showcase a sound test of some of the most popular Hall Effect switches so you can find the perfect match for your preferred sound and feel!
In this video, weāll be testing:
Lekker Switches (V2)
Black Knight Switches
TTC King of Magnetic Switch
G...
check the prices, it'll make it easier
you where right...
jade pros sound cleaner imo
also I heard the factory lube on the raw where bad is that true?
no
alr thanks
I cant wait to get some im saving for new keycaps, switches, switch plate
So turns out D's theory was right mostly. It's adjustable deadzone @honest nacelle
so it's not a fluke or error in calibration when you put in ttc magnetos and the deadzone suddenly disappears
Whatd I miss
it's actually wootings software is goated and auto calibrates it as low as possible
Simon answered how the deadzone changes based on the switch
That's all software lol
Well
All good sw
Venom, rakka and wooting basically
yeah, which only makes me now further want to hate on how stupid deadzone testing is with different switches in every keyboard
Suppose Melgeek too but I'm gonna investigate soon
Yep
No wonder the values I got on rakka were so incredible
Insanely good noise adaptation
Guys should i order black ghost or frost case prob ill use pudding from hyperx black or white or sum like that https://www.amazon.com/dagaladoo-keycaps-Topographic-Percent-Keyboard/dp/B0CH2KSD7J/ref=sr_1_3?dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.SUyoTCEfR_rX0ELQt9fCPjI034ZanBivQey1ynhx_Me4Zf5sNv8AyhDJFyRgN901jKgvQJt1-ba7g3kBObTryQaz1_0ll2nyiaBhNobK5ICTSLnvqIQMLxvsOZcBKm7LcDEKWYmF3QxKIH_8EyUGG78xIEwcww-xBL5_3yUG3I1sHFKLrdjOkbt4IoRfwjdLiDg3nXObvxYe8cd1rQ_X5a-D21fOu22EQDTmhBo6YBE.MUnTLUYAayH0qhYdQZ5xYJMk-YdNkn2ZmG4qY3Fcv74&dib_tag=se&keywords=canyon%2Bkeycaps&qid=1733938706&sr=8-3&th=1 š
Idk, black pudding for ghost white pudding for frost
10 switches?
what do you mean, that's normal price for a few vendors
Oh I've been seeing them at 80-90 GBP per 90 switches
90 there is 50GBP
ah you might have missed recently they started discounting the non rgb/pom magnetos
I hate the kom/pom sound
It's so loud
and pom/rgb magnetos have started to be a tiny bit less too (although still absurdly priced outside of sales)
i've come to like it, but only my pom magnetos after hand lubing because it's loud but very clean
the gateron gamings are less loud, better pitch and not clean sound
okay so that's nice then I can actually officially say that there is a performance difference based on stability of the switch then @sacred elm you can stop asking for deadzone adjustment setting now
also the switch selector setting is still in the works
Actually I didnt really care about deadzone setting at all, switch selector is what im looking for

Carbon fiber plate secured š„
lmk how the jade pros feel on it and if its worth the upgrade
Will do šš»
Iām very interested in how it sounds with it considering 80HE stock everything is dampened to hell and back
Should be arriving by Xmas time
i dont know if i'd like a squishy board i like it firm i need to try it out tho for sure in the future im rocking the steel board
Testing some new 2 point lighting setups for upcoming wooting switch sound test videos
I think the warm glow looks nice
need to change the wallpaper theme to fit for more perfect aesthetic
CF is right below steel for hardness, but also has a bit of more flexibility than the other plates so it gives you a best of both worlds. Iām thinking steel or brass might be a little overkill, so we shall see. I think the white gold FR4 looks the best, but idk how clacky itāll make it
just the kdbfans tkl version i think is only official one left
How is the Wooting wrist rest
Debating using my free white zinc voucher on it
but honestly now we know for sure wooting auto calibrates the deadzone to almost 0 with good switches, so the only real advantage left for venom vs wooting is that it has switch selector, which is coming in near future anyway
so i'm not so sure if there's still much gains in going venom
if you like firm wristrests it's goated, because it's firm but soft with tiny bit of give
the white one actually stays less dirty than my black one because it doesn't show sweat/skin oils due to it being white, but i do move it away if eating staining foods like curry etc at the desk now in case of splash
Bet. Aight Iām getting it since my white zinc has been flawless so no need for other cases
yeah i've been very happy with mine. For example lemme take a photo of my black one that shows skin oils
Thatās the black tkl
black shows all the skin oils, sweat etc really easily. Whereas the white stays pristine looking because you can't see it lol
That black wrist rest looks like itās been thru nam š
that's 2 year old wrist rest from daily usage up until i got my 80he lol
Itās been a little tough getting a comfy angle sometimes so hopefully my gift card arrives soon šš»
hrm thinking about it i'm not really sure what else would be on my wooting wishlist now that simon confirmed the auto deadzone is real + switch selector and 0.1rt coming
Thatās where Iām at, outside of trying different plates my shits nearing perfect
Either different pad or wrist rest
My artisans have treated my wrists well thankfully
I almost got a friction burn on day 1 of using the raiden but thatās bc I was using my viper v3 and half my hand was on the pad
did your cf plate arrive already?
i was wondering how they packaged it for shipping
I just bought it, arriving by end of month
ah
i'm tempted to get the cf just cause i love stiff keyboards for gaming
Iāve been jealous of the 60HE ppl with their steel plates, but I think CF has the potential to be perfectly balanced
\\\\
Perfect clack without going overboard
yeah i don't like metal plates. Too pingy
@tropic urchin when you get it, tell me what it's like
I got my new carbon fiber mouse yesterday so Iām on a CF spree rn
That thing was crazy using
next day you gonna do CF body for your car
Iād just get a new car
š¤£
need to do max clack and add the random pbtfans glass infused keycaps
i still haven't found a single soundtest of it
which one?
Maybe I'll do a max clack build, nobody nearby enough to complain about noise
I was debating WL or final mouse but I liked the Stormbreaker cut outs better
Itās the DAV3 size but 20g lighter which is a crazy experience
I donāt think I can ever buy another ASUS peripheral again š
Cosmos Deskmats are gonna ship to Cannonkeys soon
Iām living vicariously thru your cosmos announcements š¤©
Almost want a set now
Hopefully theyāll stock extra for people
Not sure how good itāll look on white zinc
idunno
Whenās the caps supposed to ship
@glacial wind i saw you talking a lot about stabs and so.
I ordered Geon Raws HE switches and thinking about to order TX AP 1.6T Stabilizers rev.4 Long Pole (clip-ins, because screw-ins are not available in my country) - do you think that is good combination? Or there is better option for stabs? Just want to try other stabs other than the stock ones in my 80HE. Also thinking about changing stock foam to butyl matt/foam.
TX AP should be a good option, same for swagkey knight v2 and designer studio ones
i think that's fine, the foam i don't know if it'd bother with personally
Thank you!
I have the knight V2s that came prelubed and wire balanced and my shit is crispy š„¹
also no Knight V2s in my country š
Tears
Were there any updates on Jade Maxes recently? Like whether they are going to fix the sticking and friction issues?
there isnāt much to fix. Theyāre just designed that way
pc on pc plus dual rail. Youāre not fixing that unless you literally change the structure of the switch
just saw eyejoker uploaded a vid on the ace60pro and ace68 9 hours ago
eyejoker really should sign up for hey gen or similar
The ai translation apps are insanely good now, heād make a lot of extra income uploading in English
the auto tranalsted subs will do for now, but it's missing some sentences
not bad for a budget board
I assume thatāll be standard for latency across all boards nowadays
ye
also has a giveaway on his discord for 10 of the ace60 pro
W Jade pros
Thatās stability not pure bottom out wobble just fyi
in case you were mixing up the 2. Itās a bit confusing but basically stability is partially on the magnet tolerance as well
lekker v2š
Oh wait no I thought jabber posted the other photo lol
That one he posted now is the actual mm stability measurement
Is it the one they put on mchose keyboards ?
I think mm stability is useless
ye, and on the pricier ones you get actual ttc
This is the point where auto cal just takes over
Negates the differences
Flux stability is more telling of actual tolerances
the flux bottom out one is a bit more accurate yeah
It's why I included nums of both
Just get pros
the bili guys barely mention the geon raws and lekkers are so pricey after shipping and stuff, so they just dont test them
raws are not pricey, but i just dont see them in the scene over there
noone spreading the word i guess
on taobao im seeing only 300 sold spread over 2 stores in 6 months
Pro are terrible for RGB
get lekker v1
Then get RAWs if itās that much of a deal breaker
I am on regular Jades already. Just wondering what is happening with Maxes
Not worth your $ honestly, not smooth and youāre paying top dollar for mid switches
Raws probably pricy compared to local Chinese pricing on some of the switches
If the only thing that is good on the Maxes is their springs, shit is cooked
pro springs >
Itās literally the same spring š¤£
its not
295rmb per 90 raws, 411rmb for 90 jade pros
uranus(regular) are 327rmb per 90, uranus TE are 366rmb per 90
raws are slightly cheaper than uranus
Yeah got 10 raws for testing. Didnt have the time yet
bro never touched a custom keyboard in his life
he's not wrong tho
I can hear the rattle all the way over here
not wrong about what
about the sound? yes he is wrong about that lol
I need to hear it š¤£
what exclusive featuresš
I mean the wooting60he isnt much better when it comes to rattle tbh
It sounds like a hybrid between GMMK 3 pro and my old huntsman
I donāt like most things stock anymore
60he+ is a lot better than older version
Iām 100% a firm believer in customizing to fit your needs
Iāve heard worse than the new gen 3 apex, but I wouldnāt say I like it tho
mad 68he sounds better than your zinc 80he with jade pros
Hop on the venom HE buddy with your new TTCs
who even added aim trainer in a keyboard/mouse softwareššš
Ppl that like bloatware and fake features
Still waiting for my venom to arrive
Both are chinnese
Letās see how long it takes for me to uninstall synapse with the Stormbreaker š¤£
Speed run time
Ye
Nacho to match my lavender cable
Whzy collab ships from China
But yeah the other ones is from the states
RIP
Yeah the Stormbreaker max is the perfect shape for me
Viper had my entire hand on the mouse pad
Thatās fucked
Hello. Anybody knows a good site to order Geon RAW HE switches? I'm located in Europe
Kbdfans ship global and pretty trusting imo
Any experience with ordering directly from geon?
Any WD Dash owners think that they need to be hand lubed, or would you say factory is lubing fine?
Wondering if it's worth it to lube it
Do they resell Raw HE switches?
Yes they do. Price is same vs ordering from geon directly. Not sure which is best/fastest
i bought from both and they were relatively fast
well i live close to the coast so that helps haha
I haven't ordered from geon directly yet. I did order the raws from kbdfans tho. It took a little over a week. But got them just fine.
eloquentclicks also seems to have Geon RAW HE in stock, but I've never ordered from them before
where to buy them
Guys how much geon raw he should i order for 80he?
90
you'll end up using 84-86 ish, but 90 is the quantity you want to give you a few extras if needed
i ordered pros š
May the mahjong sound forever be in your favor
šš
Thatās going to be a project
never ending
some of the switches are my gat blacks
i got pom top housings for them
Iāve lubed way too much and itās going to be like 150-180 switches in total I think that I lubed
i think in total iāve lubed something around 700 switches
Just from starting with Maxes to frankenswitch raws and now pros
Making me feel better now
You going 80HE?
maybe later on next year
im gonna stick to the 60 and if i run into any issues iāll get an 80
Was gonna say Iām ordering a CF plate to try on pros since the stock PC plate isnāt very clacky
Yours should be very poppy with steel plate
That + silicone foam dampens it a lot
CF Iām hoping makes it a lot poppier without the super firm rigidity
Some flexibility will be nice
iāve only ever used a CF plate once on my nk87
and (probably a manufacturer issue) it destroyed all of my switches i put in it
šš
wtf happened
the switch slots were too tight
so when i tried taking them out the switch puller would pull the top housing off of the switches
and break the bottom housing tabs
how is the pre-lubing on the Geon RAW HE switches?
idk myself, but probably average
drop of lube at the bottom of the housing
Raw stock lube job is probably the best Iāve seen so far
Lubing it did absolutely fuck all
If you wanna lube them Iād probably just touch springs since those are usually pretty bare
Nice! Just ordered, switching out my L60 v1
Those should be a pretty big upgrade congrats š
Ah gotcha
Do I need to take off stock "PET film tape mod" if i want to make tape mod (3 layers) for my 80HE?
i forgot i sent this without adding context
@tropic urchin if you check out this seller their prices for regs vs pros makes no sense
pros almost $10 cheaper for 72 than for regs
Looks like itās from a random vendor and not Gateron directly
Iād just play it safe and buy it from them directly and not use a 3rd party vendor
Yeah
hallo
has a discount code of wooting
but buying a keyboard is very expensive only a 10% discount š„¹
oh also @tropic urchin is there a reason why the jades i got from kbdfans have qr codes on the bottom of each switch
im very confused by it
Are there better stabilizers for wooting 80HE? I added ceramic keycaps and my spacebar now feels a bit sticky. I did upgrade the spring to 80, im thinking i might need to get better stabilizers to fix this issue. Anyone else having this issue and did you find a fix for it?
Send a pic thatās a new one
I would be too š¤£, Iāve never bought from KBDfans so I canāt say
Mine from ali have them too
itāll be like 2.5 hours before iām home so iāll send a picture then
itās very odd
Idk my shit I got from Gateron was just blank bottoms, maybe itās there for a quick rebuy
Very bizarre
how are these cheaper
I wouldnāt trust random 3rd parties selling for cheaper personally
yeah, youre better off js making your own jade like this guy^ if you arent gna buy them from a reputable place at full price
I want to buy butyl foam (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ywjXQ_XP6o somethinkg like here 5:50), which thickness should I buy for my 80HE? 1.5mm / 2mm / 2.5mm or even 3mm? Want to try instead of factory foam.
Comparing a bunch of different sound dampening materials because Iām bored.
While I didnāt include this in the video, I chose to go with MLV and Poron in the case and PE foam on top of the PCB for sound dampening. Itās got a nice marbly thock sound going on :eyes:

It's highly likely the issue is not the stabilizer, but the pads underneath them. Many people including myself have had this issue. I suggest removing them.
But if you just want to know about different stabs, searching in here or #šāwooting80he and there's a plethora of recommendations available.
which pads?

got it thank you!
wow that worked thanks @cyan lark !
just found out
i accidentally ordered jades instead of jade pros bc of aliexpress' dogshit
so just ordered jade pros from gateron themselves
i'll prob just return the aliexpress ones
aliexpress is actually shameless though, jade pros in the title and images yet it auto selects you onto the jade and you have to manually select jade pro
didn't know that
idrc, i bet the pros arrive quicker anyway
who wants 70 gateron jades
mine have usually taken 10-11 days when using their economy shipping
i did the same thing on kbdfans
yea there were more
I got the pros
W
pros before h
Someone?
I wanted to try butyl but that stuff so expensive
i can buy 50x50cm for like 15$
so not that much
im not talking about siless which is probably best but yeah
but i have hard time thinking about thickness of this
idk, cant even find info about that

Any advice on switch removal for 80he, Iāve removed switches on other kbs no problem but these are wild
Yes Iām wiggling yes Iām using the switch remover from the box no Iām not trying to force it
switches come out very easy if you take the case apart
Does that include unscrewing the pcb, Iāve got it out of the case as a unit
i dont think so
wiggle harder
just take the top tray off and they should be easier to take out
Which ones do you guys think I should get for my 60he
Gnna sit here for an hour jiggle wiggling ig
i had a similar problem with my nk87 and i just had to take the top tray off
removes the tension
i was gonna go for the red samurais with red case but it's kinda that buzz lightyear meme
that's bc they look great though
the gold on red is just hella nice
Yea I do see that all the time
red samurai, if you don't mind japanese kana
Well also the 2nd are like 40$ more bc there discontinued
gmk olivia >
Oh yea those are nice
always sold out
Makes sense there clean
Idk tho bc I do really like sumi but I do like red samurai
But I feel like there much more common
i'd get what your heart desires rather than being unique
wouldn't wanna get something else and regret it
So prob the sumi
Going to be a bit till I get them bc im also saving for some geon raws and a black switch plate
valid
I hate the white switch plate its so ugly seeing it through the keycaps
raws over jade pros?
Idk I like the sound of raws a bit more rn im running normal jades
I like ttc magneto also but there price is wild
On ebay you can find them easily for 100$
The whole set
that's a good price
The post im looking at are 130$ but the guy would prob take 100$ comes with the whole set and the deskmat
- deskmat is fire
depends how long you wanna wait
Catboard
what the heck
I think you mean āheck yeahā
Thatās how newer batches of jades all come
awhile back gateron started putting those QR codes on bottom of their jades
add a program that makes it meow whenever you press a key
It really is a custom keyboard
Custom everything lol
can i get a link ples
zanku
just got my wooting80he and its amazing
looking to do some mods to it
any suggestions
New switches, and/or new keycaps
As for recommendation... for me just go for geon raw he
the stock keycaps are ABS?
they feel very cheap quality ngl
i replaced them with some double shot pbt ones i had lying around for now
thats cause they are cheap keycaps lmao, best budget ones you can buy rn imo
imma need to know what youre looking for, how much u wna spend, and allat before anyone gives any suggestions to ya lol
as for budget ig like at most $150
i want the keycaps to haev a black background
and the texts to be white
i was thinking of the japanese ones wooting has
are there any 3rd party better alternatives perhaps
not exactly sure about that, most common black n white i know of is the PBTFans WOB
if they feel good to you then no need to
yea but i also dont know what im missing out on lol
like i dont have anything to compare them to rn
did u replace the stabs?
i mean if you tuned and lubed em right then theyll be js as good as any other stab
nah stuck with stock, js tuning and lubing em
What youāre missing out on is an hour of work disassembling and lubing things and -$20 in your pocket
Does anyone here own a salvation and the optimum case?
oh btw i was talking to some other guy and he said that the XHT-BDZ lasts longer than js regular dieelectric grease but causes a slower return, do you have any knowledge on this?
itās no noticable difference. The only thing to be worried about is overdoing it with xht-bdz
Maybe @harsh dove ? I think you mentioned you ordering one^
the return rate of your stabs doesnāt matter unless youāre actually getting stuck sluggish stabs due to warped keycaps or whatever
yes he has both
i currently am not in a position to lube my own stabs (all of my lubing stuff is packed and locked somewhere) so i was gna js outsource it to a service, do you think i should trust em with using XHT-BDZ or js let em use dielectric grease?
fair enough
if the person cannot do a simple job such as lubing stabs properly then they shouldn't be offering the service
Yeah, wassup man?
Hey Cam!
so i can't comment on how good or bad that service is - but it's not hard to not overlube stabs if you have any amount of experience doing it

I was just wondering which case feels softer to type on? The salvation or a friction mounted optimum case?
If you have it mounted that way ofc^
haha fair enough, they say on their site they use dielectric grease for their stab service but you can send in your own lube to use instead, if thats the case should i js let em use dielectric grease?
i'd just let them use their grease
gotcha preciate it
it doesn't matter all that much as long as the stab ends up non rattly
oh btw im sure you lubed your TTC magnetos, did you feel a notable performance / feel benefit after doing so or was it basically js a sound difference?
true true
just more even and consistent feel
Tbh they're both pretty soft to type on, you get more bounce/flex with the Salvation though, both feel great imo can't really go wrong
Gotcha gotcha, I was thinking of potentially picking one up but I really don't like the way standard tray mounts typically feel. I really liked the salvation for it's leaf spring design so if they're similar I'll take your word on it š Thanks a bunch
gotcha, im debating on spending like 35 bucks to get em lubed while getting my stabs all tuned up or js to buy a switch opener, do a spring swap, and leave em unlubed, any opinions?
Mine fr
that board sounding mighty edible homie
Also @harsh dove how many cases do you have rn? I saw you had a KBD 5 degree, salvation, tofu, and frog mini I think?
Kinda jealous no lie. 5 degree also looks sick especially in the green color
lmfao thanks
60HE Compatible cases, I have 6
i'd lube them personally. And spring swapping ttc magneto to worse springs is a bit weird, but i guess that's cerakeys things
wdym by worse springs?
the ttc magnetos come with 21mm springs
the ones im getting are 22mm so pretty close
Nice! What's your favorite case so far?
oh you bought aliexpress 22mm ones?
ye, was that a bad choice?
For 60HE, Frog Mini and Optimum Case
eh who knows - i don't think anyone has tested them
Ooo good to know, do you use the PBT caps that come along with the Optimum case?
if springs are too long it can be crunchy, but it's probably fine
Nah I have GMK Rubrehose on it
Ooo and what is your least favorite case?
yyeah i mean, how big of a difference could a 1mm diff in spring length make? hahaha...
on wooting thocc impossible, in general u can fill it with foam (or glue, this is a worse options but it is what it is), lube and turn ur stabs and switch, and pray l m a o
i like the soudn of everythign else
Probably Tofu or Alumaze if I had to choose out of all of them, but they're also the cheapest technically so, I prefer Alumaze design over Tofu but Tofu sound over Alumaze
just the spacebar is meh
putting foam in the spacebar will help?
what type of foam hm
Appreciate the review on those. You have a wide variety of cases to test from so I thought you'd be perfect to ask
I would say Optimum case probs sounds the best out of the cheaper cases
120 usd case... cheaper cases..... this hobby is wild bruh
the trade offs š„
agreed
Yeah it's a really cool looking case. I hear it's also a limited run so eventually it'll stop selling. Makes me want it more
I don't think they'd release colored variants down the line but who knows. Wooting has many releases
Yeah I was surprised by the sound I got out of it after building it, was pretty happy
Are you still running the friction mount as well? Or do you ever prefer to run it as a standard tray mount?
Yeah, friction mount
I really don't like a rough bottom out feel
Yeah i'll be planning on doing the same thing
Same here, I think I can make it "better" but I'm unsure how, could be just the plate materials I would have to test
What plate are you using ?
CF
yeah your POM sounds great
it's like "soft" in your recordings
which i appreciate
like to me cf, it's cool that it sounds bright but i feel like i want it toned down a bit but with a "curve" in the sound profile
hey frens
I need some help deciding on keycaps. Iāve used OEM most of my life and am pretty well adjusted to the height, but every keycap set I find that I like ends up being Cherry. Iām just wondering which you guys prefer and if thereās a noticeable difference between them while gaming
get jelly tape
well you should be fine tbh, tbr from what i see OEM and cherry are pretty similar, the 2 things i noticed that are different is that OEM is slightly taller while also having that like slight curve that your fingers can rest on but otherwise shape wise i feel like they're similar.
mt3 from drop feel like a pillow for your fingers
i really like them
@long nacelle
so Iāve seen, I just wonder if my wrist will sit better with the lower profile or not. Iām using the tofu 60 redux without a wrist rest, lower profile doesnāt sound terrible but I just dunno
i mean iirc wooting stated smth about lower angle is more "optimal" or smth smth
doesnāt the board come with OEM profile by default though?
yeah they do
thatās funny
but im referring to like the case
oh yeah
man⦠the tofu looks so nice but Iāve lowkey never got used to it since swapping to it
just doesnāt feel comfortable
cus it sits higher at a 7 degree angle?
the height appears roughly the same if not a little lower than something like a ducky but itās just so sharp
and you're used to..
came from a ducky
did you use first feet or second feet?
Are you using OEM profile or cherry profile keycaps?
cus i think feet setting one is 4 degree while the second is 8 degrees
You're correct
I have my ducky as well. Feels amazing can't lie. But I also am using a 7.5 degree case
clean
Iām not actually sure what you mean sorry, I never saw any options for this
it was just a ducky one 2 mini
xda profile are really good for no angle
the ducky one 2 mini has flippy feets on the back of the case
each setting provides a different angle
oh no I never used em, I left them unextended
so i suppose 4 degrees was what you were using
is the tofu more raised?
and now ur saying you can't really get used to the tofu redux degree of being 7
ooooo
man.. that would explain a lot
indeed
If you would have gone for the wooting alumaze case, it also sits at the same height as the ducky, maaaybe 1 degree lower even
maybe swapping to cherry wouldnāt be such a bad thing then? since itāll lower the profile a bit
Mmmmm kinda
Like a different feel from caps entirely
pretty much
I wouldnāt mind swapping the case too if it comes to it but I can withstand using it for now
he is a handsome boy
are you positive the incline is different though? let me get a photo of them side by side hold up
I might have a photo of the height comparison between ducky and alumaze
Just gotta dig around for it
me with my digital vibrance cus of my shitty monitor š
I feel like itās more just the fact that the case has nothing for you to grip into that bothers me
nice setup
I don't have the Alumaze anymore
sadge
These were the old photos, I now run a salvation case
running oem caps I assume?
love salvation
i would run a salvation if i were to choose between that and the optimum case
i prefer like the edges of how it look and the leaf spring tray mount
then i would second optimum
Iām literally in the process of cleaning my room to get new setup pics š
is that a foot rest squints
Yep!
ooo
is it branded or anything like that
im blind as hell
you got a link to it? im curious
I've had it for something like 5 years or so
The brand is "Office Ottoman"
You got it! Great little fridge, stays insanely cold
dmannnnnnn if i had my own room with my setup in it i would def get one myself
I don't have the link anymore, it was purchased on a very old amazon account I used to run
but my fridge is like 4 steps away from me sooooooooooo
I can try looking for it though
dont need to do all that since my setup is in the living room lol
it's all good
i just searched it up
and found someting similar
https://www.amazon.com/BlissTrends-Work-Versatile-Cover-Comfortable-Adjustable-Pain-Black/dp/B0BFQX3YFY?source=ps-sl-shoppingads-lpcontext&ref_=fplfs&smid=A2KR3FSYATB9J9&th=1 like this for example
so should I cave in and go with ducky keycaps or nah
Yeah that's odd, I can't find it anymore. I like the one I have because it sits fairly low but adds support for my feet. It had a bunch of review but again it was purchased so long ago
need the paper on the wall
Yeah! This is somewhat like it
Oh, the wallpaper?
yes š
I'll take a look, gimme a sec
Found it here. This one is really cool because it stretches throughout all 3 of my monitors
There aren't many compatible wallpapers that I liked which fit all 3 monitors the way this one does
i got jade maxes from mliktooth and they are pre lubed
i wanna lube them tho
do i wipe the lube off eery swithc and then lube
or js do it without wipig
I wouldn't recommend, the difference will be very minor if you end up re-lubing them
ty š
But yeah removing the lube will be your best bet if you want it consistent @dusty wren
isnt factory lube not as good tho
It feels and sounds the same to me personally. It's more of the sound consistency that I think is impacted
It's also very easy to over-lube. The factory lube I think is great as is
Takes a long time to do as well, If you just got those switches, I'd reccomend testing them out for a bit to see how you like it. If you're still unhappy with it. Try unlubing/re-lubing like your main switches, if you think it's worth it, then you can try redo-ing all of them
That will be about 61 switches to lube
Happy to help š
why the actual fuck would they make the module screws so hard to take out
this is absurd
only a single screw out of all of them would budge
Hmm, tbh I didnāt experience this when having my module
lucky you
or unlucky you actually
pretty sure most to all people don't have a problem taking out their module screws

What do you guys think is the best way to schedule a fuller more even sound profile on the classic wooting tofu combo
I know there will be obviously be variance depending on switch position but the middle keys sound so dead š
Any way to remedy this? I had zip n fit case foam but it honestly sound better to me without it and less muted
is there a way i can get another accent piece for the alumaze?
Hey, I got my geon Rawls from Ali Tuesday, and will be getting my wooting next week or so, do I need to lube the switches as they look preluded
Theyāre prelubed. If you want to do hand lubing Iād just bag lube the springs and maybe spread the lube on stems a bit better
I did press multiple switches and it was all smooth
I will lube some other time
Hello, i'm getting soon the 80he module, got geon raws for switch and i'm doubting if i should add some foam or something for improve the sound, some videos talk about frogtape another about siless, it's worth to make these updates?, did someone try them?
Try painters tape
You can use foam for space bar as some reported that itās getting sticky
well i'm trying frogtape(painters tape) only and if i see that i dont like the keyboard as it gets, i'll start changing things, thank you
Mods that I will do pretty soon:
- frogtape (3 layers)
- siless-like material (2mm or 2.5mm thickness)
- AP TX 1.6 long pole stabs (but you can just lube stock ones)
- Install geon raw he switches
u'll make a video of it?
well.. i can, but just amateur one. I will try my best
we believe on u
haha

well i'll try stock since i have panic about touching them, my hands are not done for delicate work, i feel like breaking something on setup š
but well if u make a video of it and i see it easy, maybe i get enough courage to do it
Generally the foam mods are more minor and for fun
If you do switches and foam in space bar youāll have all the major sound mods done already
After that you can look at different plate if you want to experiment, but beyond that most stuff is way more minor and not super worth doing unless you just want to see for fun
do u have some video of installing foam on space bar?
on youtube or something
i saw some of mod, but no one did it, only change stabilizers, putting siless on bottom, frogtape, switches, keycaps, lubing..
Itās just foam that comes with sticky tape already and you just slot it into the space bar
Search spacebar foam on aliexpress and youāll see lots of it for $1-2
thanks
Do they obscure the led shinr trough
I have transparent keycaps
yes
yeah don't use em if you have transparent keycaps
use jelly tape
im just gonna change my name to jelly tape
yogurt tape
my geon raws came in
all this time I thought Iād like heavier switches but I actually ended up prefering lighter ones now
learning things about myself thanks to this keyboard
has anyone gotten the gateron magnetic jade gaming switches?
currently have the OG jades on a wooting 60he, looking to upgrade to the 80he.
how's the sound?
I honestly tried only 2 keys, currently trying if i like 50 or 60g
compared to lekker v2s it sounds more cleaner quite like it
sounds deeper i think?
queue in āthock is a lieā messages
Thats the one thing I really like about the wooting boards, allows you to find what you really like and can build your perfect board instead of hoping stock is your jam
Builds a great foundation + software and allows you to perfect the rest
my wooting 60 is modded to the absolute max. wooden gh60 case, polyfill, tape mod, new stabs, fully lubed jades and fully llubed stabs, bandaids on PCB, pbt keycaps, friction fit
yup thats why I was confident about my purchase, very happy with it now
only thing I am not happy about is I wish I bought the gateron switch puller earlier to have it now
Im using the Wuque Studio titanium switch puller currently and its very lightweight and easy to use, having a good switch puller is a must if you wanna swap shit out without having to take it fully apart bc that stock puller is not it unless you're popeye
Got a link?
what country do you live in
cuz ik for a fact walmart has it for like $3 in the US
Germania
I dont know how it looks like
If i type it on amazon i get stuff for nails
just search up double sided transparent jelly tape
i gotta work rn so i canāt look for it
my roll is duck brand
green box
Alr ty mate
i want my spacebar š«
pulled one switch with the stock puller and I immediately ordered the gateron puller
why is pbtfans so much cheaper than gmk? i always thought pbt was of higher quality plastic
Gmk tends to have better legends and plastic type is preference
the same way Vuitton fake leather is more expensive than genuine leather goods
You can find gmk sets for like $50-100 if you look though, especially on sales these days
So not all gmk is $150
Pbtfans is good as long as you stick to the icon sets instead of writing on the mods
their mods sometimes have slightly scuffed thickness on the legends
also gmk is made in germany i believe, higher wages etc
I donāt blame you, I had to use my puller I got from ASUS from my Rog Azoth and had to take everything apart. With my new one I didnāt have to do anything extra šš»
its better to take apart the keyboard while changing all switches right?
instead of hotswapping
didnt change switches before
Itās not required, but it makes it easier once you expose the plate. For example using my new puller on my Jade pros I didnāt have to take anything apart and was able to remove every switch relatively easily
But Jade pros are a little easier than RAWs since the light diffuser doesnāt go flying
oh god that happens?
Theyāre tricky but not terrible once you have a good grip on it
I think your time will vary depending on your tool of choice
I didnt want to take apart since I have tape mod but I suppose I can remove the tape mod like a layer and lay it back in?
if the switches are ultra hard to get out, you'll just have to push them out from the bottom
Might have to use more tape, but it shouldnāt be hard to do. I ended up just using the PET film instead
Once you get it how you like then hopefully you wonāt have to redo it
worst case Iāll redo the tape mod I dont think I can tolerate hotswapping with this stock puller
gonna dive in after I decide if I like 50 or 60g
50 seems like a nice balance
Bit of a weird question but are covers for keyboards a thing? Like a dust cover. I've been using the plastic cover it came with but looking for something more legit
Ye 50g is nice
ive seen shops selling acrylic covers for certain models
thanks I'll continue my search then
Hey Iām attempting to remove the Module from the ABS case and Iām wondering if any PH1 screwdriver would work or if I should go buy another size. Anyone here know? Also are these (they came witg buying Alumaze) just replacements just in case or the ones I should use? And if so are they also PH1s?
my fkin modded 60he sounds so odd
some parts of keyboard sound crazy thock
spacebar sounds awful idk
tofu60 case (with tofu foam)
jade pros
gmks wobs
what mods do i do
Iād try putting some foam in your space bar if it sounds kinda hollow
For my 80HE: I lubed my set of pros, I used knight v2 stabs, kept the PET film, Iām planning on replacing the PC plate for CF
Using GMK lazurite caps as well on white zinc
And I also put some poron foam under my space bar
idk a word ur saying let me go 1 by 1
Some of it will be different since yours isnāt an 80HE (disregard the PET film)
how should i put the foam in my spacebar?
It should look like this but without the center piece
Find one for a 6.25u space bar that you like
no way that does anything.
Ppl use it primarily to remove the hollowness of their space bars
cld u give me a link or a vid to some1s jade pro wooting thats been modded
that i cld use as like what to go for kinda idk
bc i was ab to buy geons
did they come factory lubed? the pros
Yeah, I hand lubed mine once I got a better switch puller and it gave it a fuller sound than stock for me
my jade pros showed up out of nowhere I love the sound but the rgb
Itās not too bad if you donāt use white/yellows, tachyon mode already kinda nukes your RGB regardless and what you can use anyway
Could be better for sure
it's one of the biggest mods you can do
I use like light pink so it immediately turned that cyan

sound wise space bar mod is more noticable than basically everything else you can change besides switches
The purple/pinks are a bit darker as well
what r some good keycaps that go w the black tofu60
for spacebar and bigger keys i also added some painters tape to places i can it helps with the hollowness
at least till foams come in
did u wipe the factory lube off
100% recommend i agree that its one of the most noticable things you can do
imma just put tissue in it
or just lube directly on it
this conversation is way too zoomer, i leave it to you guys
No, I just put more krytox on spring and went a little overboard on the stem for some keys
Y u be ageist
okay thank u
no shot im buying foam that im never gon use
for a spacebar keycap
u guys have dedication
youāll use it all the time
Can you just cut up the stock foam for that I don't use it
hey i was planning to return my alumaze and buy an optimum instead
i don't think he realizes space bar foam is precut with sticky tape and costs like $1 lol
can i get a discount on the optimum case if i own a 60he already
As in the foam I got or just any generic foam
at the price point of this keyboard 1$ foam is like nothing too
Like the stock foam that came with wooing can I cut that up?
what does tape mod even do.
Makes it deeper
you can hear the difference in wooting channel
Highly Recommend
what ab the burger mod or whatever
Changes the feel
Oooh, I see. Maybe? Youād need to have a way for it to stick underneath tho, which is why I like the precut since it has an adhesive underneath so it stays in place
link me it
What?
Makes it softer and bouncer
Tape mod does not make it deeper
okay yea im not doing burger mod
Yeah I noticed tape mod gets more of a thock
It reflects. Donāt absorb
cant think of any good mods
?
Dafuq
That's just in my experience
Ok
With and without after testing I think it's deeper with
i feel like after tape mod the keyboard sounds fuller less hollow and more deep?
my keyboard rn is
tofu60 black
tofu60 foam
wob keycaps
jade pros
no mods
fuck do i do
spacebar sounds like shit
some parts of the keyboard sound godlike
Yeah I would try tape mod or burger mount
some parts sound awful
