Nah, its only removing them that can be a pain
Ok okay
So just buy panel and case
ill buy seperately switches and keycaps
Yeah module + case if you donāt want stock switches/caps
Can get other stuff if you wanna mod your keeb later down the line
have you ever used legos?
for sure
itās about that easy
Use .com
I believe that both are technically official, but that the .co version is not maintained. I could be wrong about that, but I do know that .com is the right one
Yea ik but fake one is first while u search up for this
yea
I would probably wait for the sale since its 70$ for 90pc which is a lot
someone has nice keycaps for 60he+ ?
that doesnt mean anything tho, that happened with someone as well when they searched wooting and got a different site
wdym?
we are there Raquel

https://www.alexotos.com/keyboard-vendor-list/ i'd take a look and see if theres any sets that catch your eye

(ćļ¾ļ¾ļ¾)」ᓺᓼᓼᓼ~
Before I go destroying my keyboard, is there anyone who can help me out? The new plate Iāve brought doesnāt come with the female screw slots, itās just a blank board. Do the ones in the wooting plate come out or are they fabricated into the plate?
I liked the sound of the lekker v2 more than the geon raws
they should come out of the wooting plate, unless they are very visibly glued to the plate like a flat head peg to connect to the case
Iāll send a pic to show you
ok
since the new plate you purchased doesnāt have holes, youāll have to line up the new one with the wooting and āmillā some holes in it
So these metal stand offs to connect the plate to the pcb
The new plate, it does have holes but no female stand offs
those female standoffs wont come off unless you cut them, i would try assembling it with the new plate and see what its like to use, if it has too much of a bounce to it you could use something like sugru and model a standoff
sugru is a kind of modeling clay
Even though the plate wonāt be tight to the pcb at all?
Like there will be nothing holding it together?
oh its on the pcb..
Iāve brought a new plate to swap out but it doesnāt have any screw points to attach to the pcb :/
So itād just be floating
i would think if you put some stabilizers and switches in, assemble it, it should stay in place but the plate might drop
do you have a dense foam? maybe foam from the keyboard box?
Yeah think Iāll leave it with my original plate for now and see if I can get some female stand offs I can attach to the new plate
Bit of a bummer but I feel like the plate would just move around too much since thereās nothing holding it into place
if you have the switches and stabs in place it wouldnāt move in any direction except possibly downwards towards to pcb
unless thatās what you meant by moving
is the plate/pcb mounted to the top or the bottom of the case
Let me send a quick vid as I think Iām fucking up my explanation
ok sounds good
Thank you for your help by the way, appreciate it
I hope thatās a little clearer on what Iām trying to accomplish?
is that the carbon fiber plate from kbdfans?
kbdfans has things on ali so it might be, just a random thought i had
It might be I can find out
i believe that since you have the foam between the plate and pcb, it is providing the correct spacing already, so i would start by putting the switches into the plate, lining up the foam, and then carefully line up the pins of the switches into the pcb
i would only do the corner switches though, so escape, lctrl, right arrow, delete
But will the top plate not move around?
as long as you are holding the pcb/foam/plate together tightly while you put the switches in, the should provide enough āgripā to hold them together long enough for you to put it into the case and screw it in
no, it should stay in place as long as youāre lining the holes up
i was thinking you didnāt have pcb foam, in which case there would be nothing holding the plate above the pcb, so it would fall down
but since you have foam, it should be pretty easy
Okay cool thank you!! Should I screw the pcb back into the case first then to give me a sturdy base?
no, youāll have to assemble the pcb/plate/foam together as one piece, put it into the case and then screw it in
Okay thank you
i believe itās mounted to the bottom of the case so you shouldnāt have to worry about anything getting loose after you put the screws in
just make sure the usb C port still lines up when you put it into the case
i had an issue like that with my nk87
Only the pcb gets mounted to the case I believe? The screws just go through the top plate?
The pcb and plate screw together separately
Yeah thatās what I thought
ah ok thanks for that
im basing this off of other keyboards i shouldāve said that
Yeah no worries, I appreciate the advice either way š¤·š¼āāļø
youāll have to screw in the pcb first then, and very carefully line up the plate foam and switches so you donāt bend any pins
Okay thanks
youāre welcome, i hope you can get it together š
question, does anyone know if c3 equalz stabs work on the wooting 60he pcb?
Nice keycap sets
thanks! the pink is gmk truffelschwein and the red is drop x lotr black speech
right looks similar to my 80HE so you have my biased +1
i have some other keyboards but i only have sound tests for them instead of a picture
i have this nk87 which iām going to be taking the keycaps off of and putting them onto my 60he when it gets delivered
i bought that nk87 on sale and hated the entire building process
probably gonna take my switches out too and sell it barebones
this is my keychron q1, which was my first high end build being around $450
and then there is this monstrosity
which was my work keyboard but i brought it back
keeb i built in my dorm room
honestly liked this keyboard but no matter what switch or keycap i put in it, it sounded off to me so i commissioned it and sold it
it now has box white v2s in it
Being able to split the keyboard RGB and use 2 colors at once is such a W for my board š®āšØ
450 for a q1 pro
oh my god
How
xd
canāt remember off the top of my head but the keyboard itself was $200 ish, the dots were $145 i think, switches were jades overpriced at like $60 for 90, stabs were $20, and the rest went to krytox
also the picture is gone because it wasnāt sending correctly
i had purchased durock stabs initially but they didnāt work cuz of the pcb thickness so i switched to c3s
yeesh
@spice apex i decided to put it back on the original plate and just put a few more layers of tape onto the PCB, i will look to see if i can get some mounts for the plate. so all im waiting for now is to get my new switches.
i have the original Wooting 60HE from 2 years ago, what are all the changes / differences now compared to the 60HE+?
also what are the best switches i should upgrade to?
60he+ supports screw in stabilizers, thats it
doesnt it also have different version of the lekker switches like a v1.5?
if you bought 60he 2 years ago you have v1 lekkers, 60he+ comes with v1.5 which has much improved stem wobble compared to v1
you can upgrade to jade pros or geon raws, those are probably the most popular switches right now
alright thanks
so those are the only differences?
Yes
thats cool
check aliexpress
protopypist aliexpress kbdfans deltakeyco
What are the best Stabilisors against rattling for the Wooting 60HE+?
never bought anything from aliexpress lowkey just thought it was something like temu / wish with load of fake stuff
is it safe to just buy
PoE 2 dropped? Ay
ah ok, was it not going together properly then? sounds like a plan though, i donāt think it would be too hard to find those mounts, but theyāre probably kinda niche
does anyone know what ones the real website?
com
safe to buy from good sellers
thanks
yeah i thought that too but for some reason the .co is the first result on google
can't login
See you on later exile š«”
nice
Still a few things to go but itās definitely sounding a lot better, all thanks to this discord for the help š«”
honestly sound the same to me lmfao
Bros got the cones on display
I fw it
completely accidental š¤¦āāļø
Gotta show em off
No hate in showing off the Cheech and Chong cones
not used these ones before, got recommended them by a friend so going to give them a try
I hate how I seen a tube and instantly thought it was for pre rolls

he got me an ounce of shatter so he said to use the flavoured cones
I've been smoking the same half oz of live diamonds since like July
Barely put a dent in them š
ohh damn ahaha, yeah im not a huge smoker, usually go for edibles tbh
I used to smoke tons but my lungs aren't cut out for it anymore
This was 5oz, got an oz of that, tasteless but burns great
ohh you grow yourself?
Split between 4 strains
nice man, ahh damn, was going to ask if you where UK based ahaha
Staebies have by far the tightest tolerances but they are not compatible with the 60HEās stock plate. They work on the 80HE though but you have to use decent quality keycaps with it.
Yeah I'm from the Maple leaf land
Very nice to be a weed enjoyer out here
Anyone 19+ can own 4 plants without a license
Our license allows us to have up to 79 indoor plants though
ohh youre a vendor too?
Nah, but potentially might look into it in the future
We just grow for the family
sounds decent man, need an new member of the family?
I'll have to pass we have enough as is š¤£
damn š worth a shot
Gonna be a full house come Christmas
hot boxing the house for everyone to enjoy?
holy modding discussion
do they work with the 60HE PC plate
No. Youād need a custom plate.
word on thbe adaptive stabilizers?
Donāt have them yet. Not sure if theyāre slim enough to use on the 60HE.
Most interesting stabs arenāt sadly.
i would have to sand it down which is considered damage
are the stock stabs on the 60he+ any good?
Hello guys, a perhaps strange question, but does anyone know if it's possible to soda blast the Zink Alloy frame and have it "clear" without paint?
Soda blasting might not be abrasive enough to remove the paint. Maybe a chemical peel or sand blasting then polishing process
I'm currently looking at the 60he module, geon raw he and obviously lubed stabs for an optional sounding and feeling build, but any opinions on what case would be good for it? I want it to thock well.
I think the holy60 looks nice but i doubt it sounds actually good though..
How well it thock can be subjective. For my 60HE: Optimum case, PC plate with friction mount silicone layer, silicone caps on the standoffs, no screws, foam pad that came with module not the optimum case pad. It sounds heavenly
forget thock
soundcheck?
is it not doable on a hall effect really? idk about sound profiles but on the surface thocky ones sound the most pleasant to me
not really doable
Unfortunately I don't have the equipment nor the setting to give you any good recordings
become clack enthusiast
i'll watch some clack propaganda then i guess
clack enthusiast > thocky enthusiast
3.5mm travel is best travel š @sacred elm
just gotta break the wooting switch puller first
Brb heading to the gym
tbf the queue goes very fast, 7k in like 10 mins
hehe
What class you playing first arc
thinking on witch vs mercenary (or whatever it was called)
would be down for some knight or paladin type class too, but seems none like this in early access
what about you
Iām debating blood mage or monk to start, everything looks great so itās been tough to narrow it down
The crossbow mercenary also looks really fun
yeah ngl when I saw monk with a staff but with some magic elemental abilities I was like wtf is that one of those classes that are not yet available š
IM IN
May the Jade pros ever be in your favor
cant wait for mine to arrive soon, whats the lubing like on them from stock? or is it worth not even trying and lubing them myself?
Iām running mine stock (Iāve lubed too much already), the stem looks pretty good stock, but if you wanna open them up Iād lube the springs and probably call it a day
Overall pretty good stock lube job
????
those who know
IYKYK
i wna know too ;-;
nvm ive been enlightened on the subject
das pretty funny
Mine dose also lol always has
make sure the feet are level
make sure your case is completely flat on yyour desk, if the case isnt warped (it probably isnt but hey who knows) then your desk might be warped / not perfectly level and flat through its surface
man i really cant tell a difference between sound checks like 95% of the time, i just dont have the ear for it..
how does the poron vs silicone plate foam sound?
Iām looking to get a custom/aftermarket keyboard case for my brother for Christmas only thing is itās for the Wooting TWO HE, does anyone happen to know any aftermarket cases that are compatible?
none i think
Note : "The silicone pad gives a more muted experience of the sound profile by lowering more mid frequencies and creates shorter, snappier sounds. The foam pad mutes more of the higher frequencies creating more emphasis on 'thock'."- Wooting
"Although poron should mute higher frequencies, silicone lowers the mid frequencies which could mean that if the switch is neutral or low pitched then it should stay low pitched but more quiet vice versa with high frequency i presume which is why its more muted"- The Thackson
I wrote this at some point already
How does having heavier keycaps affect your keyboard, ie ceramic or metal. And does increasing the spring rating completely resolve that or does higher spring rating and heavier switch have any downsides?
just wanna ask cause im new with this keyboard . Where i can buy clicky switches for wooting and keycaps i have wooting60
no clicky switches
what would u recommend
jade pro
where i can buy
gateron.com / aliexpress / amazon
thank you
also geon raw he, they are cheaper than jade pros
geonworks raw he
raw he
by geon
geonworks
geonworks raw he
thank you i check them
Did someone say Jade pros

Yeah inside the case
Thereās like little steps
Put then on there
Inside around perimeter
ty
just got my jade pros and tofu redux. waiting for the pcb š«”
would killmat be too overkill? or should the stock foam and tape mod suffice
foam and tape should be fine
i'm theorycrafting a custom 60he+, don't know which gateron switches i want though
i like the look of the maxes so i'm leaning towards those
iāve never built a keyboard before and just from audio clips I was torn between the pros and maxes
W decision that you didnt get maxes
ty š«” also the default stabs should work with them right
yeah i did hear a couple bad things about the maxed when researching
canāt wait to use it for work
join me
saves me $16 i guess too
can put that towards key caps
it'll pay for half a coiled cable
@hybrid cairn
wsg bro
my guy what happened to your finger
are you okay?
Finger kinda bled cus I was setting in volleyball
It's slright
Nothing bad
ahh gotcha
Very smool cut
Kinda yeah
anyways very satisfying, optimum right? carbon plate and geon raw switches?
Gmk 80082,Cf plate, and Geon Raw HE
raw he raw hraw arhawhe
yknow i see why mj was talking about thhe shiny boob
cause 8008 and shiny cause ABS i think
veryyy satisfying
You asked me abt smth on how the sound goes through pe foam or wtv
And I explained it as a filter
So I'm just showing you a demo
ye then u sent me da vid
thank you :D
sureee im down, id listen to a board like that any day
I can do friction pad no alpha and friction pad and no alpha but pe foam
It's pretty deep
Geon raws with cf on my board are full of highs
So mids are now boosted since highs are lowered
deep, he board, sighhhhhh i wishhhhhh
yeahh, effect of PE foam
Well compared to how I usually have it
Yup
fair enough
I usually am
simply have a megaphone next to your board at all time both sides
But I'm just doing this just for the sake of blank
:DDDDD
Ik running no case foam and no alpha
you dont have to if its too much of a hassle
i can understand it well enough thanks to the vids you sent :D
ty for those btw
For anybody that wanted to like ceracoat or anodize it
Here you go
Yes I got bored while my internet is out and took of the accent piece
No optimum case had been harmed š
What yall use to change the colour of the brass on the alumaze? I was thinking about using vinyl, would that do the job? Want to go for a clean black n white theme
.... š
unless you wanna sand and paint just wrap it with vinyl yeah
any1 EU that does modding services for the wooting60he
So hot
yeah their case is sexy but only compatible with their own
Any cheap mods for the 60he to sound better? Also does like every keycap set fit in straight i have never modded a keyboard
60% ansi iso normie bottom row
Is the tofu case good because I don't like the stock black plastic one
its not bad
Ok
its a non abs traymount that can optionally come with a brass weight
Should I like lube them or do a tape mod or foam whatever
tune ur stabilizers
I canāt wait for the cosmos
Anyone know any good stabs? The ones that came with my 60he don't sound the best
Try tuning them
Stock stabs are fine just need tuning/relubed
already tried
i dont have any lube either
do I just buy anything that 205G0 from amazon
Probably won't be authentic krytox but that's what I always do
Worked just fine for me so far
Id also suggest dielectric grease for the stab wires
Oh they got lube alright
if i didnt know that was intentionally im not gna lie from far away it looks like the board if covered in dust
pause

oh yeah btw ive decided to spend like close to 200 on cerakeys
200?!!!
ye
Wait y
cause cerakey sound good
No like
and im curiouus as to what cerakeys on the TTC KOM rgbs gna sound like
Why did it cost that much
and rgb shiny
I don't remember it costing that much hollup
well normally itd be like 100-150
maybe 160
but theyre releaseing this novelty dragon set
and i want it
and the set is like
54 bucks
so that on top of normal cost makes it close to 200
I thought it'd be around 140
it is at base, but shipping and taxes and allat
for a full set
but im getting 2 split sets + novelties
maybe a homing
and thats in the 170s
shipping and txes
makes it getting close to 200
on keycaps alone
lol
a wob cerakey is $125 in china
they make a wob cerakey?
lots of colors
ngl i dunno was wob is
the dragon mod set is $39
wob = white text black caps
makes sense ig
white on black
oooo, ye im doing white blanks, black dragon novs, and black spare pieces
tho ig it makes sense itd be more expensive here
~$165 for the set before taxes
These are the colors
seems like all the same ones they have for the US
good to know im not missing out on options :D
only wob is $125, others are $130
ahh
rn theyre doing a small sale for wob here too
theyre also 125 in US
resst are 140
Two tone is $121
ooo intteresting
i dont think they sell two tone for here
And this board caps included is $151
you gta buy em seprate
that one for us is 159
so not too big of a diff
NA is caught up if they're already selling the dragon mods
well its coming out soon
but i think theyre limited
and wdym caught up?
means theyre selling the latest stuff and not a month or 2 behind
are we usuually a month or two behind in cerakeys sales??
usually any chinese release will be a month or 2 ahead of the western release
in general or js cerakeys in this casE?
like nuphy for example, the air75he is in pre order stage but it's already been selling for a month in china
are you also a cerakeys enjoyer?
nah i just keep up with the news
gotcha
anyways thats pretty neet
js goes to show that we basically import everything sigh
do you have a link
I think the One Plus 13 is another case as well
prob a dumb question but some of these painters tape talk about residue-free removal up to 4 days after placing, now obviously you'd have it on a pcb for longer. just curious if this means anything in use, what after these 4 days, it starts to leave residue? i dont know if this is something i should look at. lol
I used this one instead, it leaves no residue
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08563Q5ND
This 12 inch wide x 100 foot long roll of paper transfer tape for vinyl works great for applying vinyl graphics. You can use this vinyl transfer paper for Cricut, Silhouette, and other popular craft cutters. This is the ideal paper transfer tape choice for most vinyl cutters and laser cutters, an...
hmm will see if i can find something similar around here then
i guess the wider the better? makes it easier?
Yeah makes sense, I donāt want to completely ruin the brass either
@tropic urchin question, what stabs do you use with your jade pros? Iāve seen some people say stock but others also saying the tx apās
does this look good then, i thought any painting tape would do but then not all of them say they dont leave residue, and this one atleast does
Frog tape is good but itās expensive for what it is, you should be able to get masking tape from like the local shop for less than half the price
I use frog tape but thatās because itās what I already have, I wouldnāt buy it just for this
so i did consider that but then theres stuff like safe removal up to x days and apparently it may leave residue after that?
im not sure how that stuff works but was trying to avoid that since i dont want that to happen i suppose
like i saw one linked here but then it said removal 4 days residue free, not sure if this is something i need to be wary of even but yeah
Realistically , there may be a small amount of residue but atleast from my experience, youāll only be adding more tape on top of other tape, never really taking it off as it helps with a nice sound and you wonāt want to go back to stock. If there is any residue, it wonāt cause harm for your pcb
hmm okay
yeah i figured if i neeed to get back to the screws or something i need to get that tape mod off right
otherwise yeah i agree
I mean, the other day I had mine on for over 2 weeks and then opened it up to change my plate, no residue and it peeled away nicely and then I actually ended up putting the plate screws over the top of the tape mod in the end so it doesnāt need to come off (unless I decide to do different amount of layers)
i see, okay thanks for your thoughts, i wont keep too much mind on the whole residue thing then
did you cut holes on tape layers for screws?
did you do 3 layers or something? i want to try the polyfil stuff underneath too. its all first time for me, but in a video i saw about it it sounded nice
I used a tooth pick to poke a hole through yeah, and then threaded the screw through
Yeah 3 layers in tofu redux with their foam and 1 layer(bigger one) of the stock wooting foam, stock plate and switches different key caps and it sounds like a vid I previously posted (search my name)
my wooting has been created š
Iām using knight V2s, you donāt technically need new stabs, but I wanted to make it more custom and I loved the clear housing + gold wire
The TXs work too if you get long pole
Cool thanks very much
If youāre lazy and donāt wanna get new stabs you can just get geon spacers if your default stabs get the jade side pop up going
i found this random bag of polyfil in house, how much would i even use to fill up the 80HE case lol
only reason why i was looking for new stabs is ive had my board for over 2 years now. so theyve lost a little greace due to cleaning any dust and some being taken away
Youāll need to lube your new ones anyway (I managed to find mine prelubed and wire balanced which were more expensive, but means I didnāt have to do anything
)
will optimum tech keycaps get an iso? or they not mentioned this
does this sound normal? lol what a crappy vid š
sounds like a normal stab to me
yes they will, they said they're adding them to the kit now and soon all future optimum tech keycaps will include iso
the desk made it sound bad i guess
alright hardest part of mod site is almost done. Have all the switch data entered including some that were missing including ttc ones. Need to finish color coding some filters and more quick select options though
š
ideally each sound test column will link to individual full soundtest recordings for 80he and 60he, but making those soundtests will come with time, will just focus on the initial popular recommendations + lekkers
but entire table is searchable and sortable for every column which is nice
Looks very nice
cool stuff š very nice
Aaaaaaaa i cant remove it even with jeweliers pliers
annoyingly i think a lot of info from milktooth store is wrong on some switches cause i found conflicting info on korean sites selling same switches
either that or swagkey has the exact same switch but in a different mold which would be even more confusing
Titanium switch puller arrived and this feels actually pretty nice, surely beats what I was using š
Yeah that wuque puller is goated
Yeah the default Wooting puller is going in the trash now, appreciate the rec sno š«”
the gateron 2 in 1 is pretty handy
Default isnāt bad for keycap puller but itās terrible for switch pulling
when i was talking about tapemod with someone here they mentioned there are a couple of areas i shouldnt get any tape over other than the cable connector part?
Sander did a video on it and everything was covered but the connector for the JST cable
Depending if you have an 80
hmm okay, yeah then ill just roll with that. yeah this is th e80
He did a good job showing how he did it so Iād follow the vid
The tape mod is an easy and affordable upgrade you can apply to your Wooting 80HE. While we've already pre-installed a PET film on the back that functions similarly to a tape mod, adding three layers of painter's tape still made a noticeable change, particularly with the Zinc Alloy case. To help you decide if it's right for you, we've included a...
did you do 3 layers too
I debated doing it, but I got lazy and didnt wanna keep making the cut out so i ended up leaving the PET film as my tape mod
ahh fair enough
the film already on acts as a tape mod so idk how much more the 3 layer will sound
yeah i wanna wrap this up with the tape mod and hopefully the polyfil, i have no idea how much of that to put in there though
yeah thats true , it kinda serves the same purpose
its not as bad as I thought it would be if you need to take it apart again to get at something
but getting the JST connector in the first time took me like 10 mins even with the angle sander mentioned š
yeah kinda why i wanna do it from the start
but i didnt evne test the pcb yet
rofl
š
I took mine apart to make it easier pulling my old switches for Jade Pros, but the JST connector wasnt too bad the second time
i wouldnt sweat it too much
yeah maybe i should just assemble the entire thing and see it working
i hope i get the spacebar before my return window expires lol
ye its worth getting it up and running
80HE goated fr
yeah i really want to start using it š«
the one thing i am very interested in, is getting new plate materials
that could be tech af
when i wrap it up with the tape mod and polyfil i hope to revisit the switches in a year or so and see how that has developed, theres constantly so much progress on that front it would be nice to see if i can get a good upgrade without paying too much
but plate would be cool too if we get options therer
We currently have brass and carbon fiber options off aliexpress so far, I am kinda tempted since I think the 80HE plate currently makes it a little more sound dampening from 60HE since they have a steel plate
oh we do? cool stuff, i didnt know
agreed
removing caps is super fast with the default one
but the switch puller part broke for me after a while lol
this is the second most influencing thing after the switch
I'd say
When I was pulling my Jade gods I swear to Christ I almost broke it on the first one lmao
Iām debating trying brass but Iāll need to hear it first
Steel would go hard for pros
not sure about brass but steel would be loud af, louder than even alu
bruhh my hardcore ssf char in poe2 is stuck in a zone I entered, that causes a crash, so basically I can just delete this char, rip
Thatās rough
I made a witch to go for blood mage and I feel so weak
WASD is lit af tho
yeah wasd is awesome
What do you think about carbon fiber for pros maybe
Thatās another one, but unsure how it would affect the sound profile
just do wood
ok buddy
whats the difference between the tofu60 2.0 vs just the tofu60 redux
one isnt compatible with wooting
do you perchance know which one?
mayhaps
could you perhaps drop the infu?
2.0
thank you kind person
random question if i use my coiled hyperx cable with wooting 80he is it bad for delay or should i stick to my stock usb c cable that camewith
id probably stick with the stock wooting cable, other 3rd party cables if it isn't 100% the same could probably cause some instability
what switches should i buy for my build?
what sound profile are you looking for, for your build
hmmm let me think
If you want a clacky ish build id go for Jade Pros/RAW (RAWs will be a little cheaper), or if you want a deeper sound profile then Lekker V2s are prob your bet
i see, okay thank you
Sander has some videos on the official wooting YT that goes thru alot of the most popular switches if you're interested to see how they sound on different case materials
oh i see, i will definetly look at that video
the new Jade Genty switches might be up your alley if you want a combined deep clack
man there is so many to select from, it honestly seems impossible to pick
dont look at key caps then š¤£
nah its a fun experience tho even if theres alot of options to choose from
you going for 60 or 80?
should save you some $ then on switch amounts
Guys I need help should I buy the classic wooting60he but get another keycaps than the classic or should I go all out and get the module and l45 v2 switches but the case is the hard part itās either the blue alumaze or the optimum, aswell as the keycaps I think itāll be anything good from amazon. (Suggestions is much appreciated)
I forgot to also say if I go with the blue alumaze Iām think of blue keycaps but the optimum something that has the same color of the case but actually have letterings on the side of the keycaps what do you guys think?
Ocean blue Alumaze?
https://drop.com/buy/drop-dcx-sapphire-keycap-set#signupv2 a blue like this would look pretty sick with the ocean blue alumaze
Yepp
I really like the Ocean blue over the new Optimum case
its just way too gray for me
Donāt get me wrong itās nice but with the bit of gold on the case it kinda ruins the white if yk what I mean
doesnt have to be that particular set, but it was particularly for the blue color
Itās like I either go all out with color and fun or keep it simple and chill
Yeah I get you but idk bout it cause I never bought a keyboard that is that expensive and never changes keycaps on my keyboard soo idrk
id say take some time and evaluate all your options for key caps would be my best advice
https://www.alexotos.com/keyboard-vendor-list/ id also browse this link collection and take a look at some of the different key caps you can get
it'll probably take you a day or two to fully go through, but hopefully it gives you some ideas for what you'd like
Yeah itāll definitely give me alot of ideas but anyways thank you so much for helping
Let me know what you end up going with
i have the glorious lynx silent HE and they work just fine on the wooting boards, tho anything with tactility kinda defeat purpose of hall effect
Went to go switch out my keyboard case and one of the screws is stripped bad, anything I can do?
Tried the rubber band, tape but nothing works
anyone know where I can find good cherry iso keycaps? for the 80he
to get it out if its that damaged you could try hammering lightly a torx or allen key in the screw, if that doesnt help you need to drill with a small hardened drill and destroy the screw
you need to exchange the screw anyway but be careful to not damage the keyboard and not put too much pressure onto it
y
If I want to get cerakey s what should I look for in switches?
Or should I get switches I like and get higher rated springs
I have another keycap rec if you go alumaze: https://wooting.io/product/wooting-take-control-5-sided-dye-sub-pbt-keycaps?Language=ANSI+United+States&Color=Ocean+Blue
good custom for 60he?
wdym?
keycaps
what about them?
I need good one
How good do you want them to be?
medium good
Alright, medium good...how about sound preference?
creamy
Guys which switches re best for valorant/fortnite any suggestions
Medium good and creamy, we can work with that. What profile would you like?
thats not the original guy
š
I know hoping op is reading
Can Wooting Detachable USB-C Coiled/Straight Cable Set be used for Wooting 80he?
yes
Got my walnut keycaps in
Theyāll go perfect with the Cosmos I hope
any good keycaps set with proper kitting accomodates for iso
Guys which switches re best for valorant/fortnite any suggestions
Whatever you think sounds the best
Just get the Jade Pro and call it a day
i refuse your question
any plans for collaboration on 80HE cases aside from the official wooting offerings?
you mean outside of the two cases already spoken about
one of which is being sold?
not sure how far back I'd have had to scroll to find that, but thank you
does the geon.works site ship from korea?
I'm trying to get the raw he switches from somewhere but I have no idea where to get them most optimally from to finland
an aluminum case for more money than the zinc one
interesting
looks pretty nice but those lil brass things i dont like
Thereās 2 versions one with and one without
im talking about the strap thing on the side
badge removal ive seen
atleast it doesnt peel lol
You can remove it as well
ik but then one side js has an indent at the bottom
im being pedantic about it but its the little things
wasnt it only the white one that was peeling? and they did say they were tryna fix that
yeah ik, im js not a fan of it
that lil nub
and if i remove it theres an indent at the bottom
if it was in silver or they sold a black screw in plat to make it flush id like it more
Thatās fair
Yeah I wasnāt gonna get the 80HE until this case got announced. I find the stock Wooting cases ugly personally
i suppose its an opinion thing. although the zinc case isnt the most astonishing case design on this planet its clean, has some nice lil details, heavy, and sounds good
Yeah small things that impact us differently for sure;
just glad this case came out in time
just got gateron jade pros and they are life changing
how can keyboard manufacturers like nuphy have gateron jade pro keyboards for cheaper than a wooting keyboard with lekkers?
fair fiar, i mean if youre gna spend hundreds of dollars on a board you dont wna lose out on something, yknow?
welcome to the marbly church
cause the software is what costs that much, not the board lmao
Chad
because nuphy is not as good buddy
makes sense
bait used to be believable smh
take your anti carpal tunnel switches and leave
Hey ā I am modding my 60he for the first time, just lubed my new switches and now I wanted to use the carbon fiber plate I got from KBD fans with my Tofu 60 redux. Iām noticing there arenāt the same sort of places to screw in the plate, and the foam from the rooting between the plate and the pcb wonāt fit.
- Am I missing something? 2. Is it okay to not use the foam?
Hereās a pic
Yeah o think I might have to get pros
lmao i tried lekker v1 today just for science, keycap is dancing on it on all sides
has the church of clack converted a thock enthusiast
guys is there any case that has a sound difference to the tofu 60 redux that is worth to buy?
max 100⬠more
Iām just tired of scratchy wobbly lame up and downstroke sound
or is tofu just worth it for the price
Most aluminum tray mount in that price range will be fairly comparable
461E or optimum case are alternate options tho
Tofu is a solid deal tho
Anyone?
Solid value case if you want aluminum and did the aesthetic
I do t totally understand what you wrote but you need to screw the plate to PCB
find the stand offs
And yes you can skip the foam if you donāt want it
The plate shouldāve came with stand offs?
would the 461e even sound discerneably different to a non-trained ear? my current tofu with v1 lekkers sounds ass, most likely due to the lekkers but still
I guess thatās what Iām missing?
its my only custom so i dont hear that well the differences
You can use it non-tray mount
and what would that mean practically?
No PCB on aluminum
No screws
Softer
I havenāt used the 461e but itās a neat mounting system
For the price
man
But it donāt thock
thock tickles my brain tho..
clack doesnt
but
it would clack tho
right..?
with geon raw he's
the 461e
I mean thereās only so many variables
Mount style, switches, case material, plate material
Foam, silicone or polyfill or lack there of
Go lekker v2 if you want a decent āthockā HE switch
Itās not thock
But itās not clack
Stabs and shit
Just keep buying shit and trying it out until it sounds ok

oh if i would just have the money for that
nope black peeled aswell
just to make sure, gasket-mounting (rubber-gasketmounting in the 461e's case) is just superior to tray mounting in sound?
and it just makes it sound softer
??? why havent i heard about that before
since personally i just hate the metallic sound that my current traymounted build sucks imo
Sound is subjective
true
arent you new to all of this?
idk bout new but ig i havent been keeping up with the news
but it just sounds softer, i doubt many people prefer a harder or metallic sound?
many things in this hobby are preference
but most traymounts suck lol
thats wild, even under normal conditions? are they doing anything about this?
returns and replacements id assume
have they said theyd fix the issue?
idk lol im not them
;-;
Look in to the optimum case and 461e case
@harsh dove owns both and maybe can share insight
i would def get the optimum case but it's not in stock tho
But heās also clack guy
coulda gotten a salvation
:<
was on sale for 110
280 normally 110 on sale? jesus
beautiful case too
now im just sad that i didnt know about them before
I got the optimum case
Theres 2 ways to mount this, tray or friction
With what switch
šŖ
im rn running typeplus
SW vs Typeplus who wins
V2 has improved wobble
I have v2
But if you up it with the typeplus
Not installed yet
- i got told the typeplus does not fit with the wooting Plate? i am unsure of this
Cuz im rn running the venom
depends
yikb's for stability knights for ease and feel
they dont
too thick
Yea
Custom plate
do you not have a custom plate
Hypekeyboarss
or for wooting
then ur set
Just need to put on
And having adaptable FOMO
Ok yeah
Should I buy jade pros then
To replace black knight
I wanted all black but Iām kind of just over BK
But the cool spring
Yeah black jades are basically black
Esp since I run rgb off
lol
I never saw these
My stabs are no longer bone dry
I also used 6mm screws to do a proper 2 o ring burger mount instead of my previous 1 o ring burger mount
Mines still forever will be dry

I got left over lube?
whut
i didnt know they made jade box stems
or a pom low profile
low profile magnetic pom
but no normal pom
wild
Get the pros

š
What other affordable cases are there for the 60he besides the 461e that can be friction mounted? if i got it correctly tofu can only be traymounted
the 461e has no good colors on stock D:
the module cant be o-ring mounted right?
just get venom
It can be oring mounted
my raws are estimated to come monday...on the day i get home at 9
Tofu can be fully friction mounted too, only thing you wonāt have grounding but honestly thatās more a precaution than a need
Wooting isnāt selling the friction mount separately yet though
Iām gonna steal them
Honestly I donāt blame you for using the Black Knights really pretty switch with the gold specks on the top housing
nooo i've been waiting 10+ days for em
Has anyone tried a low profile wooting I'm curious to see what it would look like
Jesus these look gorgeous
Awekeys 'moon landing, lunar maria' full metal keycaps set
i love that both gateron and nuphy sell the same low profile switch but have totally different specs listed
Iām excited for my friend to get his Nuphy 60 HE
gateron one is definitely the wrong specs since it says 3.5mm still
i still have no idea if stickyrice v2 is 3.5mm or not because korean websites list 4mm
meanwhile milktooth lists 3.5
and totally different materials stated between the two listings for the same switch
On the nuphy site or in general
on their own website
gateron has totally different specs listed on their official website vs nuphys website
Oh wtf lol
that's unfortunately common when i was entering the data for the switch table
a lot of sites have potentially wrong info conflicting with each other lol
can only just take a guess to figure out which one is right based on what we know
Do you reach out to ask or you just confirm the measurements yourself
usually just cross reference with videos and from people who have measured/looked at it
and it's still not 100% because stuff like material people don't exactly check
like one site is telling me sticky rice has pom bottom, another it's nylon
You really love keyboards huh Sno lol
i do, but i have to do this stuff to finish the wooting mod website lol
otherwise even I'm not digging in to try find the obscure materials of these things
You think I could paint the PC Plate
i wouldn't but you could lol
maybe vinyl wrap
actually
nvm
it's floppy
Might try that thank you
Interesting will it have an affect on the analog function?
The 80he one is awesome
No, you still have the full switch travel
Nice
That in zinc š„
is the silicone friction pad out yet
Hrm 2 new osume kits coming out
Cafe with a earthy pastel theme and mocha with a light brown hot chocolate theme https://osume.com/products/cafe-keycaps
with the raw HEs being 3.4mm, am i gonna need new stabs or will the stock stabs work for me
Using a raw he on my spacebar rn and it works fine with my stabs (not stock but pretty much the same)
alright, i just dont wanna wait a month for my case to come in just to realize i need to swap my stabs out
Worse case you can throw in geon stem spacers for like $5 and it turns any normal stabs to long pole
So donāt sweat it
any1 EU doing modding services for the wooting?
is there any good modding services for wooting in asia ?
i heard awekeys have had some huge qc issues on their metal caps, have they fixed them?
Idk saw that pic of Reddit lol

fair enough lol
im tryna learn to type without looking at my keyboard
cause i wna get blanks
this is hard
Is there a Solution for muting the hallow Sound from the middel of the 60HE?
any new cases coming out for 60 KB layout? Honestly I think the typing angle on the Salvation is a lil too much for me
The owl lab one
Keyboard: Wooting x OWLab 60HE
Switchs
OWL
Keycaps
GMK Jamón 2
oooo looking at this vid now
im guessing its super rare huh
I donāt think itās out yet
nah i want this..
ill buy as soon as i can lol
Yeah the whole bouncy thing looks cool
anyone have any info on different typing angles and how they affect people differently or anything liek this?
What's the difference between normal stabs and LP stabs?
I don't know what 'Pole' is longer in the stabs
Have googled this before but it didnt really help explaining
long pole stabs are just designed for switches with a travel of 3.5mm or less roughly speaking
so the stem movement is fit more to that length to avoid any keycap wobble issues if you have loose keycaps
you can convert a normal stab into a long pole stab with things like geon stem spacers which just slot on top of the stabilizer to add an extra 0.5mm to it
Guys which switches re best for valorant and fortnite ?
doesn't matter much. If you want most stable stem then ttc magneto pom/rgb are the most stable, but very loud high pitched clack sound. Jade pro / raw he are a tad less stable but still extremely stable and much nicer sound
but neither are going to be game changing in valorant or fortnite - it just means they're more stable on the press/release a little
What do you guys recommend 60he or 80he? (First ever wooting)
Ohh, I get the idea because that's what everyone has been echoing in here, but how is it physically different? is it the stem? the wire?
Or is does it depend on the designer of the specific model?
Because I have the SW knight v2 Long pole stabs and I have durock v2s and they look similar? I can't tell the difference
depends really. if you like modding and having more options and prefer a more compact keyboard, 60. if you like arrow keys and function keys, but know also youa are limited in options when it comes to custom, case, and others(for now) then go for the 80
literally just the stem length is .5mm different
it's why all the people who go out and buy entirely new stabs just for that issue are a bit silly, because you can just add in stem spacers and be good
what
no wonder I don't notice any difference
lol
tbh I followed the echo chamber of getting the LP sw knight v2 over the stock ones. honestly they're much better!
I wouldn't say it's a night and day difference but I do like it more
it's mostly cause people don't lube properly
the stock ones require a proper lube job to work well, knight v2 work with even a light bare lube job
yeah you're prolly right. I tried syringe lubing the stock stabs but can't really get the same sound as I do with the sw knight
probably have to dismantle everything and start from scratch
syringe is only kind of a mini fix that doesn't always work
but I'm happy with the knights I don't think it's worth it for me to start over with the stock
ideally if you wanted perfect stabs on stock you'd disassemble, lube the wires with thicker coat of xht-bdz, then housings with 205g0 for example
that and balance wire if it wasn't already balanced
but most people aren't going to do that so they never really get 'perfect' stock stabs
What's the keycaps for wooting 80he?
@harsh dove question, since i saw you mention the polyfil mod, i have not done this but do you aim to get a complete layer of polyfil in there so that you basically cant see the case bottom anymore? not sure how much i should be using. or is it more something like this?
Okay imagine it with the Cosmos instead of Black Snail @polar girder

Xht bdz is basically dielectric grease right?
Not a huge fan of the aesthetics but good work!
it's much thicker than other greases
I used Molykote EM-50L on mine
yeah xht-bdz is kind of way thicker than all of them
it's why it's the 'magical cure' for older style stabs
but it's also why you don't really use them for tighter style stabs because it's so heavy
It's kind of counter productive for a lube is it not?
it's for the wires
so you get no ticking
basically a little bit of xht-bdz equals a lot of molykote em50l/dialetric grease
they sit a tiny bit higher sadly
