It's not a type of mod, a keebmat is just a mat used for keyboards that you just put under. It can affect it's sound depending on it's material. And can make it aesthetically pleasing in your setup

Do remember that since we're in the newer gen of switches, manufactures updated their top housing molds to make sure it is compatible with cherry profile keycaps. So you don't need to worry about that problem anymore
