Hardly dangerous with just battery acid and lye and 12v source
I summon the keyboard gods to help me rq
Is the geon raw he the same as the geon raw he magnetic switches?
HE stands for Hall effect
HE is hall effect, it is a principle related to magnetic
luminkey lx60, blackout colorway
So these are the same?
ye
Is kbd trusted?
one is 0.48 the other 4.80
i guess
yes I got a ton of stuff from them
One comes In 1 and the other in a pack of 10
from their ali store
Ok
Exactly same, someone botched up the color calibration on the first picture
How long is delivery?
yeah im just goofing
I’m in aus
it tells you in check out
Oh bet
Ok
If I get a wooting 60he+ module and the alumaze case, will I need any stab or changes if I get the raw he switches since they’re only 3.4mm
Ok
GEON RAW HE Linear Switch 2pins Switch Type – Linear, LubedInitial Force – 36.0g Bottom-out Force – 50.0g Spring Length - 15.0mmSpring Type - Single-stagePre Travel - 0.1 ~ 3.3mm (Analog)Full Travel - 3.4mmTop Housing Material - PCBottom Housing Material - NYLONStem Material - POMMounting pins - 2pins Magnetic Flux I
Yeah they got stock not too long ago
it isnt absolutely needed but you could get geon stem spacers in order to avoid some stabs being incompatible
nice, way faster delivery
How many switches do I need for a 60%
62 for iso
I’m getting ansi I think
maybe get 65-70
I’ll get 70 then
I have the dual stage one on my blackwidow
How come the initial force on kbd is different to the initial force to cafege on the switches
wait whaa? no screw? like you're using a plate and it is not attached to the pcb, like on MX?
hmm on salvation it might actually work well
on frog mini the pcb might fall down im afraid
exactly my thought :3
I imagine it sounds more even cause standoff points introduce some brightness around them
cafege stocks 50s only
geon sells 40/50/60
36 is initial force which you should ignore for referencing switches
look at bottom out
no stand off, fr4 from kbdfan
Did anyone use any springs between 70 and 100 grams for geon raw he ?
I used 70g springs with my other switches, I also got lekker 100 springs but never tried them
70gs were fine
Do I need anything like tools to install and make my keyboard?
Nothing
Or is it just like Lego
screwdriver
Ah, yes if you go with wooting module, you need a screwdriver
if you ever want to open up switches for lubing, might need a switch opener
other than that, wooting comes with a keycap and switch puller
In order to mount inside the case.
it is plastic though so the pupper part might break in time, but keycap tool is awesome from wooting
I’m using alumaze case, wooting 60he+ module, geon raw he switches and Amazon keycaps lol
never doing that shit again unless i somehow retire before my 30s
Sadly, I never got the switch puller, only keycap puller from my 60he box
The keycaps look cool tho

I work from home and sometimes I even manage to rebuild my keyboard while nothing is happening at work
but if something comes up I grab my gfs board
its kinda crazy how i prefer having screw than not with this keeb, that is a first time
2 first time things happened with this salvation board now, no foam and having screw
by screw you mean what in this case?
oh like "tray" mounting?
I know it's not quite tray mounting in salvation, but it uses screws iirc
the sound comparison i made was between <no screw between pcb and plate> and <2 screws between pcb and plate>, surprisingly, with 2 screws sounds clear to me
the salvation's screws are between pcb and case :3

pretty much tray mount, i was expecting more bounce when i took off screws, but i would guess that is more off a fr4 thing rather than screw thing.
sound nicer than tray mount though i think
otherwise why the fuck did i spend 300 on this case
ahh ic now lol
well it has some leaf springs to which you mount? and if I understand right there are also spots for screws?
Yeah it's a leaf spring tray mount
hmm I guess im still lost then lmao
yea, the leaf springs have one hole on each end, you can decide where the screw goes
You mount it like any other tray mount board but the salvation provides a lil more gimmick with the leaf springs
The leaf springs allows the board to have a much softer typing feel
not much

maybe much compare to tray mount
And salvation users can also adjust their board's sound based on how tight they screw in the mounting points
This shi is really in depth but kinda not
yeah its a unique board
Case* I'd say
Really?
you can change where these two screws go, but the one in the image i think is pretty much the default setup
indeed
at least not with fr4
well im talking about the mounting style though
the leaf springs
Wait is it a MX board or a Wooting PCB in a Salvation? @kind helm
top and bottom has the most amount of flex, but the middle parts not so much
wooting's
that would make sense
Ok the amount of "bounce" would make sense
top and bottom actually bounce like crazy :V
but I would personally look into how soft the typing feel is rather than bouncee
when I get my luminkey60 I will finally try out a real gummy oring mount for lol
that is what i was wishing
Like my board although it may seem to have a lot of bounce, or more bounce than @calm pulsar 's frog mini says him, it may not be as soft as a salvation nor maybe a frog mini
That's how I would think of "bounce" and soft typing feel
but i guess if i really want to mess with it, i can mod the cushion beneath the leaf spring, that would maybe make it softer
yeah I found even if there’s not much bounce, the sound and feel on frog is way softer
100%
will you still have to screw in the plate with pcb?
ah my man
i think at the current state, with those two screwed in together, you get better different sound for sure, but the feel is not gonna be "real gasket mount" feel
I would really love a gummy mounted board one day
:3 but that is just me with my really limited understanding
or some unique type of mount
with venom he I won’t have to change anything, but for wooting might just need to drill holes in the plate lol
and mount using gaskets
Ah i mean yeah it's not a gasket mounted board after all
it's just a much "better"/softer tray mount ver if yknow what i mean
prob the best tray mount you could get ig? idk i aint gonna say much
yea
but it is for sure amazing
Dr Dave be sending me his salvation and all his other board sound tests, it's so fun to listen to
i mean i think you can do actual gasket mount if you are ready to ruin the pcb and the switch
or at least not change them forever
@kind helm tip, if you want to make your salvation board sound more brighter or less thuddy buy some rubber dome bumpons and use it as the case feet. It's a very much noticeable improvement
I wonder if wooting’s friction mount thing is better than friction we usually do
i mean just get a custom plate actually and get a 60% case that is compatible or what not
which i think you can't really find?
by the look it should be more even, but not much better than that :3
You can ruin the PCB for actual gummy mount the wooting 60he pcb
"ruin"

xD
and no im not talking about friction mount
yea i know what you mean
actually dremeling your pcb for the case posts for gummy mounting
oh for the wooting to have it
aint gonna pressure them, it's a stupid idea and gonna take a lot of time to rethread the whole thing and recode and shit (we talked about it before)
i asked one of the guys on the team
i think it was the youtube content guy
he said one step at a time
lmao
hmmm
honestly, arc, i think it will be much easier to use
yeah I tried to pitch tsangan layout to Thockfather and Cam, but they seemed like they know it aint happening
the gummy cutouts are probably the same thing here
what would be nice if they would do what kbdfans did with the nipple case
one thing that i dont like about that friction mount thing they are making is, essentially you have to have a silicone piece between pcb and plate now
with that
would agree
yeah I remember trying to push the pcb inside with the thickass oring I got from aliexpress lol
yeah that's why i would like keep talking about them should implement the nipple case's plate foam/pad
wait that was not english 💀
lmao, i mean o'rings that are for sure fitting would 100% fit if you know how to install it
yeah I just didnt have access to the nicer bakeneko orings or wtv they are called
oh right you're not in the states xd
well atleast you got the frog mini
someone in one of my yt vid commented about getting the frog mini
or trying it
yeah it traveled from AU to US and to me xd
whats your channel :3
ohh yes I saw this actually
i love your lekker v1 mod, that was voodoo magic to me.
Hey, hey! This is just a build update of my Wooting board, which I will list below. Big thanks to some people from the Wooting server who donated parts like my plate, which I am currently using, and some other stuff. If you have any questions about keyboards or Wooting-related topics, you can always go ahead and ask them in the comment section b...
i heard that sound test i was like how the fck did you make this piece of ___ sound good
haha thanks but should give the credit to the creator himself, I'm not gonna ping him but his name is GeWaltofRiwa
I just expanded on the mod
and advertise it and shi
yeah that was almost like a year ago by now xd
i'm still impressed how it good it sounded for only the lekkers being out back then
even till now
lmao
did you do tape mod on that?
uh yeah!
Really wanted the board to emphasize on the low's and mid's back then
or in simple terms
THOCC
man that bounce is sexy
i had pretty much the exact same build with pc plate and cotton at the bottom instead xD
ikr
thanks
actual cotton?
ya boi loves his bounce
oh man haha
i feel like tape mod is almost a must to go along with these in case i fry my pcb :3
Like till this day, although I have matured out of my "Thock"son phase, I still like how this sound just for it being a Wooting
It's almost a full year by now
Don't ask me for the build specs, hell like if i remember
haha
fr
have the pc plates in my closet
both white and black
GH60 (Tofu V1 clone)
PC plate
Lube Switches (Krytox 205g0)
Stock Stabs (Lubed Housing and Stem with Krytox 205g0, Dieletric Grease on Wire, Holee Mod)
Switch Tape Mod (3 layers of gentle paper tape)
Bandaid mod (Dry)
Tempest mod (1 layer Masking Tape)
Gloirous GBPT Keycaps
Poron Switch Pads
Friction Mount
No Plate foam
Wooting Case foam
found it
That's some highly detailled list of mods you have applied on
Now let's compare to my current config:
Wooting 60HE
GH60 Aluminum Case (Standoff Dremeled, Add Woodblock to the cavity, Bumpon replacement feet)
GMK 80082
Geon RAW HE 60g
KBDfans CF Plate
TX AP plate mounts (Bone Dry STOCK)
Friction Mount (Bakeneko60 30a O'ring)
Polyfill
KeebMat Felts Edition Light Grey

12 lines
9 but tech 7 in comparison
Note to self : get Geon Raw HE and mod with 100g springs plus a custom metal case for weight
haha
note to self: order all of the geon raw he stock when have enough munni (which is never)
I cant get the case and switches right away due lack of money
whats money

I got them McD's Buck
$1 McD Buck

McD, eh
I hope the 100g springs aint too loud lol
I don't even eat fast food lmao, it just sound funny to me
Ah, yeah same here. There was e.coli outbreak at mcdonalds
dual staged/longer 60g HE spring when
dafuq is a e.coil
oh nvm
im dumb
In theory, I have a metal lathe. I can make my own springs if I can get bothered to
👀 wait i didn't notice, how the hell did you make it bounce like that @fluid ravine
you see how my pinky was raised when i was typing?
that's the magic
jkjk
I just fixed mine, swapped 2 last letters there

Friction mount+polyfill
what did you do to achieve this
that's the magic stuff right there
but doesn't the pcb touch the standoff at the bottom?
hogwarts
You asked at a great time, getting that is now more easier to achieve than back then
i don't remember that kind of flex from mine 0.0
not today but if you had a moment to spare i would like to ask you some questions about modding if not its all good
also another thing i am curious of is which screws did you choose to screw in, all or just a selected few
Tip: Use any sound modifiers the boosts low's and mid's (TAPE MOD) and best to use low resonance plate, or just plastic plates in general. PC, POM, and PP works best. PC can sound dead but tape mod can somewhat help it, POM and PP have the same acoustic but has a unique pop to it so i recommend those.
i am kinda experimenting with it
go ahead ask away
can i dm you?
well you can fill the case up with polyfill above the standoffs and posts
fs go ahead
nahhhh
thats actually a play
i was honestly thinking like the gasket mounting thingy from another case and put them on the standoffs
all
if you're talking about pcb and plate screws then all
polyfil is probably nicer than foam, but zero foam is based too
no foam gang rise up
cus if you screw some in, it can mess with the sensors and another thing is that it makes HE boards sound thin
10000%
which is what you were going for :3
Polyfill is really the balance of all
it helps with hollowness without really like changing the frequencies i'd say
i have been using two screws on each side and 0.2 actuation
everything is fine so far
Well at least it's working fine for you then that's good
k need to order some polyfil
or is it with two Ls
lol reading patch notes for new venom firmware
"Fixed bug for operation error when connecting to iPad"
ipad gamers rise up
i feel like you filled the case all the way up to a point the oring is like struggling to stay in place to reach that kind of bounce. that is some crazy bounce
nah
@kind helm tip, too much polyfill is bad for your pcb
another side of affect of this is that when there's too much polyfill, the compression of the polyfill will be firmer so there will be less response when bouncing back
it's best to use polyfill to the point where it fills up the case but not to the point where you really have to compress it with the mount
did you kinda lay them next to the stand off?
just lay it over
if you're doing tray mount, make sure to space it away from the mounting points
otherwise since im using friction mount it doesn't matter
icic
thank you kind sir :3
also i feel the reason why i can do with less screw has to do with salvation, the cushion at the bottom supports the pcb
tyty, thats kinda nutty
college = no more going to class
LMAO
im in sophmore for high school sooooooooooooo
nuh uh
heh
it looks almost like if you had no oring it will still be mounted the same lol
HAHA FR
Nah actually at this point the o'ring is just there to keep the module inside the case so it doesn't fall out
polyfill mount
cloud mount
HAHA
imagine hipyos shorts
this keyboard is mounted.... on a cloud??????
i can finally get my hands on everything i ever wanted
HAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
that'd be goofy as shi for me
You see this board is mounted on oxygen and hydrogen
And it rains when there's too much of it, so def keep your mood up if you want this thing as soft as a cloud ☁️
changing keyboards based on moods be like
im not in a good mood today... keyboard shorts itself

need HE to sound like that😭
just sounds like longpole
that spacebar is glorious
not like HE that's for sure
Gateron Smoothies
does anyone have a photo of the frost vs ghost case for the 80he
like irl photos without overheads and crazy lighting
we should fill the keyboard case with asbestos
it might make the keyboard sound better
Mx blacks
yeah I was thinking to get them from geon since they seem like a go-to switch for a lot of custom enthusiasts
is this not just going to generate static with any slight pcb movement/jiggle and fry the board?
maybe put a non conductive backplate between?
Polyfill is made to be anti static, also anti flammable as well
Is the stuff that is used to make teddy bears btw
Which one?
it was a joke about Thackson's "cloud" mount
Oh ok. Just woke up
lol
@untold wigeon I heard the price on f2-60 can be around 300-400, so I when I noticed Luminkey LX60 is $139, I preordered it
looks nice and fits Venom60HE, and Wooting, with some drilling in the plate
oh wait no
Wooting wont, cause middle usb port
but again might be with some soldering I guess
That’s sweet
@calm pulsar I grabbed mouse number 15 yesterday. Razer Dav3 hyperspeed. It’s like it’s made for my palm. So sweet.
Probably 15-20 percent smaller than the regular Dav3
oh nice little anniversary lol
is it the ergonomic one?
the shape
yeah razer's mice are nice, unlike keyboards 😄
Omg I have two Razer keebs. I hate them equally
lol
nah razer mice also L
I've been enjoying my viper v1 and v2, but now jumped to sora v2 and glad
tried their wireless mouse, had to charge often, tried the famous viper mini, broke in like 3 months, i tried razer stuff 3-4 times over the years, always QC or just straight up bad :V
@kind helm I’m specifically speaking about the Dav3 hyperspeed. This latest generation has been fine.
I own 4 of them. They are better than past ones
OP1 8k
DAv3pro
Still top
my gf still uses my viper ultimate which is from more than 2 years ago, and my viper v2 is also fine
I guess I got lucky
vv3 pro is funny tho
the top of the line razer that doesnt have a way to use it wirelessly

how is that
ya
I thought of viper v3 pro lol
no cap
the dongle's wire isnt removable lmao

think i tried deathadder long time ago, then some 80 dollar wireless mouse that was less famous, the viper mini was the only one that i would recommend to people but it broke hella fast(though i did buy it when it was the cheapest like 20-30 dollars). i think later i saw they up the price to like 50+ because of how many people praised it
L company
plus the software is literal bloatware :V apparently for a certain period of time they offered users to get some "free cash" if the users allow them to use the uesrs' pc for crypto mining
Wait really?
So you need cable for dongle and cable to charge?
That’s dumb af
i want to beat them up
i just realise how badly i phrased this
i meant as this would not work by itself
yea
like every other razer mice
because it is supposed to sit on your desk
otherwise you don't get enough signal integrity
that is what every manufacturer of high polling rate wireless mice asks of you
lol oh yeah idk what you’re complaining about
yeah ive got an xe-s from vaxee and its literally the same thing
i just want them to add another dongle
yea it's just about not dragging the wire around
You mean like it doesn’t come with the wireless thing you can just leave in your computer?
for laptop use outside
ya
oh like logitech do with their mice
Gotcha.
logitech also want you to use the dongle extension they include
to me the high polling doesnt matter anyway
but if you see how much stuff they had to put inside the dongle you know why it isn't just some small dongle
the actual practical use of it with a laptop outside matters more
yea should have bought a different mouse then
i did
got the gpx2
the shape of the vv3 pro was what i wanted
welp guess i dont have to bother with synapse now so im not that annoyed
logitech's onboard memory manager is pretty decent
stupid that it needed to exist but yea
too bad that my one logitech mouse is bugged and I can't set it's rgb anymore
so it just does whatever
aka weird pink and blue stuff but idk when it decides to do both and why it sometimes just is pink on one side
tbf i went from gpx to vv3 pro and didnt like the swap at all, just didnt suit me. side buttons especially just felt awkwardly placed
went to the vaxee xe-s instead and its way more my bag
oh ya
and i wanted to buy a seperate dongle as a work around
but the ones that they sell doesnt work with the vv3 pro
hey, I'm having trouble with putting the pcb and plate back together after installing screw ons on my 60he.
anw had a similar issue?
I ordered this keycap set:
https://kbdfans.com/products/pbtfans-doubleshot-bow?srsltid=AfmBOoow5bnB2G9R0AUYkFaJsTHZihM7db_eu0PAbFFj45XHtzOrMmPV
Which came with this space bar set: https://kbdfans.com/products/pbtfans-dolch?srsltid=AfmBOooS5d9prYLDy1KZalcQQXWXkot7-XlzTyfeceW1U8P_C_HIBY6h
They both say Doubleshot PBT Cherry profile but the red space bar is a different shape and doesn't properly fit with the other keycaps from the full set. Did I get sent a wrong unit or something?

(2022-10-19) Expected to complete production o
the 6.25u should fit
its included no?
This is the 6.25. The main issue is that the space bar doesn't come back up all the way all of the time
But I don't think it's a stabilizer issue since the white space bar from the full set works perfectly
The profile is definitely different
But all of the red space bars are consistent, they're all a different profile than the white set
Same manufacturer, same material, same profile on the website, not really sure how it even could be different
might want to ask in kbdfans discord then
ya
I looked at them more closely and I think my eyes were playing tricks on me last night. I was also able to reproduce the issue with the white space bar and now I'm thinking maybe it's just too heavy. I have the 50g Geon Raws, do you know where I can get a heavier spring for them?
i can assure you its not too heavy
Its not coming back up all the way though, wouldn't a heavier spring fix that?
Jade gaming
might be the stabs
no
it also has the same issue as the maxes
switches has no gaming performance difference
just preference
I have knight v2 long pole stabs. They seem to be no different than the other stabs on my board
tho the good ones are lekkers v2, geon raw he and jade/jade pros
people call them trash more because of the sticky switch issue with them and the price
each individual stab could have issues
like lubing
take a video because what you're describing could be a lot of things
If there's too much lube could that cause it not to come all the way up?
jade max are pc housing on pc stem, making them sometimes stick to itself when pushing slowly in certain ways
your zoom made it harder to see lol
My bad, I was showing the light staying on meaning the key isn't fully depressed
take it from the side and the whole thing. from above zoomed in like that we can barely see anything
if you have another space bar, see if you get the same issue with that space bar as well
then you can at least narrow it down to stab vs space bar issue
I do have the same issue with another space bar, meaning it's the stabs. I'm trying to figure out what about the stabs would cause it though
But i was thinking about heavier spring in the switch would push the key back up harder and fix it, no?
too much lube, or installed too tight or installed crooked
heavier spring should basically never be the solution or issue
make sure the stabs are properly in the whole too
people sometimes screw them in thinking they're in but at some point they popped out and aren't sitting in the hole properly
I had that issue at first but spotted it before putting the plate back on thankfully
Space bar stabs were the first I put on the board though so maybe I didn't do them right at first
Overlube stabilizer or bent spacebar
not really. Some interesting things like ttc magneto pom and an upcoming variant of the geon raw with a fully closed bottom
but nothing too crazy
I can take the metal bar out of the stabs without removing the stab housings from the board right?
oh wait there is
To re-lube
a closed raw he actually
yeah that's the variant i'm talking about lol
i just read the first 2 words
i can't imagine it's all that much new or exciting though. At this stage it's hard to see big improvements on stuff
i'll buy a few ttc magneto pom when it comes out just to see if they finally made a decent sounding non scratchy box stem
any big improvements require a large redesign
look forward to the most absurdly priced switch: https://detail.tmall.com/item.htm?id=833314144967&scene=taobao_shop&spm=a1z10.1-b-s.w5003-25100843071.4.6d5b21f8aXtqHu
If you’re interested in the Maxes I’d probably just go for Jade Pros or RAWs. They’ll end up sounding better/avoid any sticky issues.
Waiting the geon max
honestly you could buy ttc magneto rgb too if rgb is the goal. They sound awful but no sticky key issue and they are clear for rgb too lol
But they sounds sticky
I’d go RAWs then
Feel wise from Maxes to Raws is like seeing the world blurry and putting on contacts for the first time
They’re kinda similar sound profile to Jades and feel like a perfectly toasted marshmallow when you press it. The one thing I really detest about the Maxes is their stem seriously sucks.
They the best
Would this product fit the wooting 2HE keyboard?
Yes
Thank you 🙂
Not sure if a dumb question but the arrow key key caps are the same as the letter key caps, is that right?
Shape, interchangeability
For example, if I buy two sets of these arrow keys, could I place a set for the WASD keys
Shape yes, but not height
Ask the seller to make you a WASD set. he should be able to
OH
What profile are the keys for the Wooting 2HE?
Ahh I think stock Wooting is OEM, so I guess there will be a minor difference
what profile has the best ergonomic?
Kinesis advantage
oh mb i meant keycap profiles
Usually taller profiles are less comfortable like SA but some people love them
milkyway hash line keycaps might be the best fit for raw zinc that i've seen
everyone jumping onto the semi translucent abs on pbt keycaps train
awesome mouse tho
PBTfans BOW is great
Yea i really like the set
i have the WOB with crosshair
I had to take the whole thing apart to get at the stabs but I took off most of the lube I had put on and now I don't have the space bar issue anymore. Thanks for helping me narrow that down everyone
Very nice, looks like a clean set
oooo, I want THIS. The pink looks soo good.
Wooting Collab with Owlabs for 60HE+ case
Why NOT 80 😭😭
Real question is how much will it be
its a Owlabs tho, wallet is already crying
I hope its not too much
going by pricing of similar boards you better be prepared to spend a lot
There’s no such thing as a cheap owlabs board. It’d be under qk brand if it was cheap
that's a good point
Jelly epoch was what, $350-400 iirc
Yeah. I also had the Mr. Suit before. sort of the same price range
Honestly I’d love if they had an 80he edition too, but that would be ungodly expensive I bet lol
vento was real pricy
they probably would at some point in the future. considering the 80he is still quite new
future collabs would depend on how well this one sells I’d guess, that’s what Calder said on stream anyhow
makes sense
600+$ case
Might have to cop
That's more expensive than my upcomming 80he build
Heck, that cost as much as 3090 used
I wouldn't be surprised if it costs even more
Yeh
Small user base do contribute to the price
Since by ~4 months, there's at mosy 70k people with 80he
Crazy number lol
The founders campaign alone has 23k buyers
Shame I did not join that one because I did not need a better keyboard for so many years until recently
Ah, I see. I use 60he here
Yeah performance wise they are essentially the same
8k doesn't matter
I mostly just don't care for the layout
8k makes sense if some keys are in gamepad mode lol
Otherwise, I learned the higher polling rate from mice can make some games to lag out with sufficent mouse movement
Still won't make a difference you can feel
Note, I don't own any 8k mouse like that. I was merely recalling info from my research about purchasing a new mouse
since i'll be modding the first time if i put too much lube on the wires for the stabs. Is it okay if i leave it on there because it eventually go away or i should immediately wipe it and lube it again?
Yeah 8k mice with games that aren't properly optimized for it can cause severe stuttering and really inconsistent system latency
With keyboards this won't be an issue with almost any modern CPU id imagine
As it's sending far less inputs
You can probably just leave it and spam your keys a bunch to try and get it to spread
ty
i guess once i remove the wires from the 60he+ i should check if the wires are straight as well i assume?
or do you only check if the wire is straight if you order them from a third party seller
You could make sure it's straight/balance if needed
Yo guys, can you give me a website where to buy sexy keycaps for my wooting 60he+
i m looking for something full black without letters or anything
appreicate your advice. Im super excited and nervous to mod my 60he+. So mb if the questions are simple and stupid😅
It's pretty easy
I went in blind without any tutorials just fucking around and did fine
yeah i been watching a lot of videos in it and switch testing videos and im going crazy because i been watching too much and they are all starting to sound the same lmfao. I need a break for sure lol
Sound test videos are not good
what would you recommend? me buying the switches and testing myself irl?
They almost never accurately depict what the board/switch sounds like

It's kinda the only way to really hear what it'll sound like properly
thats fair
Isn't this basically what the finalmouse keyboard is gonna be too
i bought geon raw switches so definitely gonna test them out and compare them with my l60 switches
i got the see through tofu 60 case with the brass weight so im hyped af
The acrylic one?
I'm still patiently awaiting my x-ray set to arrive
which one do you prefer? i saw they made a red one and it looks really good
I bought an Acrylic and the Meteorite one, and I've just been using the Meteorite.
that keyboard wouldnt survive the way i rage in comp games
ooouuuuuuu yeah that one looks very nice as well
the newer one or older one?
Idk
IF The polling rate is as advertised, on the touchscreen, could be good for rhythm game. A very niche rhythm game.
Probably the older one
Actually no, it'll be amazing.
i was gonna get the white but then i saw the acrylic one
but if too much rgb leaks from the keyboard case i'll most likely exchange it for the white case or meteorite one
Huh, would the wooting uwu fill that role ?
I mean like, uhh. Project diva, and Hatsune Miku Colorful stage
I wanted to go full white with black plate
Very happy with it, even more so when I can slap x-ray on it
Set a lot of the same button as the same key, slide your finger around and such.
For now yeah
Curious how different x-ray will sound because it's abs
make a video once those bad boys come in
Ah, I see. I don't play rhythms games
With my lovely blue yeti mic quality
It's fine, wooting UWU is very nice at least. Wooting keyboard for 2x less, with their software support.
LAN setup with custom wooting
GLHF
does jade pro have more friction when pressed not in the center like jade max or nah?
The Max friction comes from the PC to PC rubbing contact, Jade Pros shouldn’t have that issue
ohhhh ty!
It does come with some RGB light bleed from the colored upper housing, but that’s about it
I’ve seen the sideways keeb before. That would take some getting used to
Is that the beastx max? That’s a chonky boy
Super clean mouse... what switches did you get for the mouse buttons?
Nah mini
It's got mechanicals
The mini didnt have any options
ended up not being able to order it
Will need to wait until later
What made you choose the mini over the other?
The color lol
I should've waited for the max my hands are too large for anything but ftip on it
👀 anyone know how does wooting deal with different switch?
my enter key was not releasing normally, i thought i broke the pcb somehow in the process of modding. reset the keyboard then somehow its working again. i am purely guessing, but i think maybe wooting "calibrated" itself to work with my previous configuration and it was not detecting the strength of the magnet properly when i changed to a different config. reset made it redo that process. (again i am guessing here)
previously i only was trying to do no screws between pcb and plate and it was working fine. then the problem happened when i screwed all of the screws in.
It should calibrate on boot of the keyboard the 0 point
And the bottom out is constantly being recalibrated during use
From the perspective of the picture it looks huge lol
Blue shell pink dot I’m pretty sure
thank you. that is good to know
My beloved
Stock are good with a bit of lube, alternatively knight v2s are a popular option
Agree Huano switches are my favorite
stock stabs are fine with stock keycaps on raws
I hope I like the opticals on the beastx max
Deskhero is having a bogo event?
Have you tried ttc gold, my fav mech switch
From what I know the nihil mechs are super stiff
I've sampled a few
I’m not the biggest fan of optical switches but they are ok
Yes they are pretty good
The defond DMP-1101 are interesting as well
As I said Huano blue shell pink dot are the best in my opinion
I'm still intrigued by the custom pulsar service
But it literally cost the same as a beastx max
....
Big markup in price
I mean the mouse is being hand assembled
so i js need stab spacers then?
are mechanical mice switches better in feel?
I always thought opticals were better since they are safe from having double clicks and are also marginally faster in actuation
Same I need about 12 of the metal ES ones
Don't even need those
Much better imo
Sounds more like a keycap issue then a stab issue
But yeah stem spacers would probably help in that scenario
stem spacers should help with tilting, but not sure about keycaps getting stuck
could be tolerances of the keycaps
Well built mice typically don’t have double click issues. Poorly built ones with tolerance issues do
Depends on the switch and even then there's batch variation
I see
okay maybe some day I will try out a mech switch on mice, cause I kinda went for sora v2 versus lamzu for the sole reason of sora v2 having an optical switch
I was looking at lamzu maya at the time
seems like it has huano mechanical
well the sora v2 is an upgrade for me from viper v2 pro anyways
also even this optical switch feels better than the one on v2 pro, so all good for now 😄
Maya X looks like an interesting VV3 contender, wonder if its different/better enough to try out
oh maya X is a new one, dang
when I was choosing it wasnt around yet
yeah looks nice
I still love my beastx mini
Tempted to pick up the purple one
But I need to stop buying mice
It was announced this summer, but got all the other colors released sometime in september I think
Same
btw jade pros arrived
in the post office for now, gotta collect it
me and you giving gateron money on the way to creating the cursed Gateron RAW HE switch
I should change my name to that if thats my end game lmao
true lol
would be ideal not to give em much but its fun to do frankenswitches😭
anyone know good and trustworthy websites for keycaps? and what type are the wootings? cherry profile pbt?
idk I'll be damned if the Maxes upper housing goes to waste
spending more $ for gateron makes me upset, but I cant let them defeat me on my Jade quest
wooting are oem profile
Wootings are OEM, cherry works fine though too
oem? im new to changing keycaps pls help lmao
well I can confirm max upper at least works with normal jades bottoms
im in the chat lmao
They're both PC so im hoping the Pros bottoms work with em
oem is just different keycap profile, so the shape is slightly different
theyee taller cherries
Ideally mine would be Jade Pro bottoms, Jade Max spring + Upper and RAW stem
slightly taller than cherry, which would make it a bit more hollow and deeper sounding compare to cherry
I will try it soon
actually want to see if I can replace the normal jade bottoms to jade pro's on my frankenswitch, for even better tolerances
but cherry is pretty much what most people use
siiiiick
provided the tolerances are upgraded though lol
hope it doesnt introduce tightness issues again
thank you for being the QC tester gateron doesnt have
yeah I liked it, just was a bit annoying in some keys
🙏
👀 have you tried the longer spring in jade pro on geon raw. hoping that would be more snappy.
lol tbf I might have brought gateron quite a bit of sales too😭
the new jade springs are honestly pretty lit
I remember this video when I first wanted to see what the jades sounded like
Summer flashback time
I did try jade max spring in geon raw he, it was actually snappier, but the sound was noisier
but the jade max springs werent lubed so it is recommended to lube em
the title is exactly what i said to my friend when i got the og jade
oh man.. I might try this lowkey
yes I immediately ordered jades as soon as I learned there's a switch with a closed bottom
yeah I might even consider changing the pingless spring to the longer ones from maxes or pros, but I need to check how good they sound when lubed compared to pingless ones
I use pingless 62.5g so it still has a snappy return
As bad as the Max stem is, I really appreciate the spring feel. The only sole W for those switches it seems
@calm pulsar Huano Maya
I just bought #15
lol
Need a #3
Mouse being a bish to me sometimes
How y'all gents doing td
OP1 8K is the goat for me. relatively decent price compare to the bs price of the wireless mouse
I'm trying to get a SkyPad 4.0 Glass pad for my bday
I be wanting one thing then move on to another and forget about the old thang
OW player? me val only nowadays, cloth pad gang rise up :V
Lamzu grips are top tier
I play val but I play on a super low sens
I think I'm gonna use my glass pad on val today
Been using my zero xsoft again
For it
zero xsoft owner too :3, i have been thinking about getting the soft one instead
This feels somewhat slow to me still
Hehe
I'm gonna try it on my glass pad
Bett
me instant lock jett type player. 0.112 1600dpi. too low can't turn 😦
how the hell

Absolutely agree
i think with the size of zero's XL, lowest you can go while still being able to turn 180 is around 0.1
Interesting
I never use below 1600
liking the shape
I've only went from 400-1600
1600 dpi at least i feel like, higher dpi easier to do micro adjustment in game. less jittery
But been using 1600
Yeah
Agree. Great mouse. lol
I did 1600-4000
damn I only ever used 400 dpi cause I've seen it somewhere xd
4000 💀
i used to go 22000 dpi or whatever the max is, then use raw accel to drop it back to the normal dpi
looks similar to my sora v2 😄
but then apparently i found online higher dpi the accuracy of movement may drop i just went back to 1600dpi where most people nowaday uses
Sora v1 and Maya
I like the EGG mice but they still don't ship to NZ so I'd have to get it proxied but for the added cost I might as well just get something else
Zaopin?
have rawinputbuffer on for val
i feel like without it's pretty weird or inconsistent
always had that on
hey has anyone here built with the tofu60?
i think that needs to be on in order to work with higher polling
Half the people here
a ton dozen of people
without rawinput i feel like the game frameskips
im having some trouble figuring out where to put the gold standoffs
fr
yea cause apparently windows doesn't know how to handle high polling
gpx superlight
the new ones i heard is meh
these two spots
"whats polling"
we usually dont recommend using them
the old one is decent when i had it :3
yeah me too
lol
still using the original
so the middle one and the bottom right one
yup
and dont use the 3rd standoff?
is that the vv3p dongle thingy that razer did a weird reel with
i got the wireless charging thing beneath my zero pad, think the added battery adds weight to it
switching op1 feels so light
but i heard from my friend who also use gpro apparently shit lasts for 2 months without charging, me wasted money
Hyperpolling Razer dongle
i always thought wireless mouse lasts like a week at most
Viper one is different somehow. Can’t be paired with anything else
less screw = less stiffness = softer typing = deeper sound
There should only be two golden standoff placements, being middle and bottom right. But if the case comes with 3 then i suppose it's extra. Normally for universal 60% tray mount like these boards we tend to not use the middle one at all but the one near the spacebar is optional
Depends on the polling rate
ok thanks
yee, i am going back to wired. fck wireless, i dont even feel the wire with the mouse bungee.
@tropic urchin just remembered that jade pros are actually delivered to a postamat (or whatever it's called), and it works 24/7
it's 4am rn here but why not just take a walk xd
Wired and Wireless are on identical levels nowadays. Only difference is the wire
wired in my mind given the same tech should always be lighter, wireless would always be heavier and needs to be charged.
but logitech does have that wireless charging thing, i am surprised to see that no other companies have that yet (or maybe there is i am just dumb :3)
I have it. It’s really good. Power play
the charging pad at max size from logitech only covers like 60-70% of the space on like a zero
It’s small but not too small
yea, i brought that with my gpro, never manually charged that once
i lowkey dislike it since i play aimlab scenarios that need the whole pad.
wow the package from gateron is intact
I got a op81k, g pro super light and just recently got viper v3. Honestly love the v3 but is there no input delay compared to the wired endgame OP Mouse
What you mean by that last bit
Op18k has less input latency.
Like they both have none or nothing compares to op1 8k?
jade pros come with qr codes, unlike maxes
Tf
Why
Tf I need a QR code on my switch for lol
authenticity or smth lol
How to lube?
not sure exactly
They’re so expensive. Cant afford counterfeits lol
No not that that new model of Zaunkoenig M2K
yeah I ordered from gaterons ali store, but there were some listings that are cheaper
comparing jade pros to normal jades rn
they are an upgrade for sure, cleaner sounding and very smooth, I like how they feel
The new purple frost op1 8k has an updated sensor
can only find m2k unfortunately
lol yeah all good
I have it
I know it’s fire

💀 NAH! i just got my op1 like last month or something
lol it doesn’t really matter
I think it’s just the fact that new sensor allows for motion sync at 8k
true, the motion sync adds delay regardless of the polling rate right?
if i understand correctly
Yeah idk really
I’ve never looked much in to it
Mine doesn’t have it so I don’t care lol
😭
i am lowkey thinking about getting the purple one then return the white one say they ship the wrong one
criminal!
i have this set

i think it would work ngl
buying the purple one, gonna sell the white one on ebay or something
I would just say “ok. So sorry for the mix up. If you can send us an existing picture of your white op1 with time stamp we’re happy to send you purple one”

nah they don't give a fck. i know some dirty little discord channels that do that kind of scammy things
Yeah or hardware swap
Gross
Ok anyway
for more expensive s44t
like 2000+ laptop or even pc. i dont even know how they do those
money
Would spray painting my wooting 60 he plate purple cause any problems? Also what spray paint Is best to use?
50 dollars and buyer pays shipping, think thats a decent price
@tawdry tree @tropic urchin jade max top is compatible with jade pro
the rgb diffuser is bigger on maxes btw, just noticed
@polar girder okay so the long but light spring of maxes/pros is gonna have to take the W from me
have you tried the double stage on AE?
I ended up not using them tbh, didnt notice any improvement
man is researching for the keyboard community.
Nice
I want to change my keyboard sound dampenning thing idk (whatever is under my keyboard to change sound)
from polyfill to something else
what would be a good alternative that gives a "thocKy, creamy" sound
cotton in my experience works well to make deeper sound. (tempest's tape mod is recommended in case whatever material you use may cause issue to the circuit)
generally thinner foam is better at blocking high frequency, so that would help with "THOCK" as well.
I do have 3 layers of tape 👍
interesting
so cotton > polyfill or cotton = polyfill
#Keybored #mechanicalkeyboard YOU Make Your Keyboard Clack or Thock - Featuring Wind X65
In this hobby, many of us chase a certain type of characteristic from our boards. Whether it's a thocky or clacky sound, soft or stiff typing feel, the visual aethetics, the outcome is endless. However, out of all these, one of the most discussed and aske...
I am not sure, i think someone here mentioned that polyfill doesn't effect the character of the sound and it is mainly for solving the problem with the ping, I personally never used polyfill. i think some people consider polyfill to be similar to cotton.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J9iRjeTfuns shows the difference between cotton/ no cotton
Here is a brief video on the 'Cotton mod' which is essentially my take on the Poly-fill mod. Its easy, its cheap, and worth trying if the Tape mod is too drastic but your board still needs that little-bit-more. You can find Cotton balls in the cosmetic aisle of most supermarkets and chemists, all you need to do is fluff it out. More readily avai...
W
that looks actually kinda sick
does the RAW stem work or is my Gateron RAW joever
wow this is actually a big sound difference
I think ill replace my polyfill with cotton
TY
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01C29YFS4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?psc=1
these are the ones that i got for my own build
raw stem works but if you use geon stem with everything else gateron, it has more wobble and chatter
but geon stem with black knight top housing works very well
hmmm
raw stem in black knight top also sounds more snappy on top out, which a lot of HE switches are lacking
including jade pro
but jade pro stock is very smooth, doesnt have max issues at all, actually a good stock switch
@novel bramble just got my jade pros and in my experience they are very smooth even if you press at angles
and the stock spring is better than on black jades
How bad is the wobble/chatter
I can compare it for you, but I need to know what kind of setup to compare
I guess compare it to with pro stem
so like jade pro w/ max top VS the same w/ raw stem?
I'm a bit new to these switches but what is the most popular option? Jades, Jade Max, or Jade Pro? I'd prefer the most commonly purchased ones since the jades had a lot of hype upon their release
Polyfill is short for polyester filling
Out of the Jades, the pros are prob the best
in my experience maxes sound a bit different due to diff materials, but a lot of ppl had issues with them being too sticky when pressed at an angle
I personally was gaming normally on them
jade pros on the other hand are super smooth
and sound cleaner than normal jades too
Kicking myself for fading Pros 😭
Appreciate the feedback, I'll keep looking into them but seems Jade Pro's may be a good option 🙂
@tropic urchin
1st jade pro w/ max top
2nd the same but also w/ raw stem
2nd has more wobble also
Also where can you purchase these updated Jade switches? Wooting doesn't offer them on their site
gateron main website or aliexpress official gateron store
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DFGZ9D6L/ref=twister_B0DFH4LKML?_encoding=UTF8&th=1 I see amazon has them as a listing

but they're 63$ for 70 switches
Pretty steep on their pricing
what springs did you use arc for those
both springs from maxes
simple as
