pc is polycarbonate, a lot softer than fr4
this making it produce a slightly deeper sound
yea just trying to find what sound i prefer
i feel like left stab is less lubed
i watched a video of something using pc plate with silcone vs pc with foam
at the same thickness and design yeah
and idk the steel sounded the best
And what are they called?
geon raw he
😅 then go with steel if thats what you prefer
Some, who customized their Wooting 60HE, stumbled upon one part that they didn't like and wished they could change. And that part was usually the Steel plate. Steel is known to produce high-frequency sounds in the keyboard space, and that's why plenty of people tend to lean towards a polycarbonate plate. Let's hear what a difference it all makes...
theres someone with a carbon fiber plate
Can I DM you?
i want the sound of thunder when i type to let my enemies know THOR WILL STRIKE THEM DOWN WITH HIS HAMMER nyeheheh
sure
he has the keyboard mod list a few messages below
oh wait i linked the video
Sent you a DM.
anyways its time to test stock wooting and gmk clone spacebars on geon raws with standard travel sw knights
gmk spacebars hit hard
so it's either not enough lube or tray mount but i guess there is nothing else i could do besides lubing it?
lube it
wire balance if needed
maybe take out screw on mounting point near spacebar
lotta things u can try
yk what the clone spacebar doesnt sound that bad
though it is pretty slow to return
there is definitely something off with the spacebar
right stab feels a bit scratchy
how to do that?
is there ticking
dont do stuff to do stuff
actually have a reason
only the left side of the spacebar sounds a lil different
i think that lubbing left stab would solve it
no harm no foul
80he POM sandwich pad when :3
@kind helm @robust siren for the geon raw HE, which bottom out? 40g?
well according to my name, i do quite like 40 grams
but its personal preference
Why do you like them the most? Just curious so I know what I may like
prefe with a side of rence
i liked them because theyre... well light
have u ever typed on a mech or he switch
i type a bunch
Never
spring force
if you wanna go to the extreme, lower force being easier to press down is better for gaming
fake
how do you mean :3
Yeah that makes sense to me
I basically hammer my keyboard while typing, so I want 100g springs now
the difference is incredibly small though
i have noticed after using raw 40 grams for a while, its incredibly hard to go back to 60s (comparing them to razer optical linears)
bought these now
fake
Jeez, you always have easy time with low shipping cost for this
i currently dont have any clue where my L60s are
i think someone ate them
more lighter =/= more better for gaming when ur talking simple ranges
like 40 to 60g bottom out
it is
ya
Why?
nice
because u can just as easily argue that ur gain in easier actuation leads to misinputs, slower rebound, and loss in granularity
its never as easy as mOrE lIghTeR bEtTeR
true, i was just thinking in terms of the speed of the press
and the difference is extra small with the wooting's adjustable actuation
yep
that is why i said "if you go to the extreme"
Springs aren't linear force
what are u used to
depends on the spring
depends on the switch
it can be linear from preload to bottom out
there can be a bump
there can be a pronounced curve
etcetc
etc
etc
etcera
tactile HE switch
true
I'm using a Logitech G PRO currently with GX Blue Click switches
.......
ok lol
that is a mechanical switch
Yes exactly
I know nothing about HE switches so I am completely switching lol
by mech I didn't know you meant mechanical. Thought that was some brand name.
not everyone knows what mech is xD

I know what mechanical is haha I just assumed it was some brand name.
whats linear
Yeah
thats not it
lol
thats their low pro switches
hes on gx
again
penultimate boss
ahh s44t
reading
I'm on GX Blue which are clicky switches rn
so peak of bump at 60+ bottom out at 60
tbh yeah
i didn't scroll down enough and mj is giving me s44t
It feels fine tbh but I definitely could appreciate a lighter switch

I got 40 because 50 is out of stock lol
i got 40 cause i didnt think 60 -> 50 was a big enough change
most likely you will mistype a bit in the beginning, just keep using it for a while longer you will get used to it.
with Geon Raw HE 40g
This is my setup I purchased
especially you are switching from mechanical to he, the early actuation takes a bit of time to get used to.
but you can always change it in wootility and slowly ease into it
i mean
the point of adjustable ap
is
that its adjustable
yfmyfmyfm
ifyifyify
i mean dude said hes gonna game on it so he probably drop actuation to something low af
welcome to the keyboard hobby
think a good amount of the premium stuff takes a while to get
Tbf, still better than the wait for gmk
Yeah, I am still suffering from this side-effect since migrating from Cherry MX Reds to Wooting 60HE with Lekker v1.5 60g
what i feel like may have speed up the process for me is monkeytype, sometimes i just sit back with a cup of coffee and play that for a bit, enjoy the sound and feel of my nice modded keyboard :3
it was pretty easy for me going from razer optical linears -> L60s -> raws
it just felt way better
and i kinda just forced myself to use a lower actuation
The only thing that slightly messes with me is a DRASTIC weight change
Jade Max's are shit btw unless you want BIS 2009 RGB.
lol the second one seems cleaner but I think you also didnt hit em both hard enough to really grasp the difference
but if thats 40 vs 50g springs I think there aint much difference
going in other servers to steal more souls?
recently got a wooting and wanted to get diffrent switches for it are there anythat are clicky similar to blue switches and have low actuation force?
y you guys dawging on him
i dont like the default switches and dont like the jades 😩 i need options 🙏 😂
HE switches tend to be just linear
you can try Outemu switches but I don't think they are compat
since there are no good implementations of a tactile/clicky with an adjustable actuation
like a hall effect switch
OTM Magnetic Switch SPEC Brown Total travel 4mm Work travel 2.2+/-0.5mm Work force 40+/-10gf Tactile force 55+/-10gf Tactile travel 1.3mm Min trigger force 30gf Min End force 60gf Max Pink Total travel 4mm Work travel 2.0+/-0.5mm Work force 50+/-10gf Min trigger force 40gf Min End force 60gf Max Initial magnetic flux 8
clicky defeats the purpose of a magnetic board for things like rapid trigger etc
but like I said it's unlikely they are compatible
what im searching for is the sound and not the feel lol with a low actuation force ( i think its called that) similar to the lekker 45 yes i know this all sounds stupid lol😂
ah
keyboards are out of my expertise lmao
Geon Raws 40/50
99% here use Geon RAW HE's
well closed bottoms will provide a new feeling as opposed to lekkers
so jades or raws are a recommendation
1% of unknown species
do you guys have any case recommendations that aren't the tofu 60 redux i see that thing everywhere lol low profileish if that makes sense
freebird60
LM60
Nipple case
will look into all those cases and the switches thanks 😂
one more thing any affordable keycaps sites out there
does this come with all wooting keyboards?
Doesn't come with 80HE?
No
80HE doesn't have any strap placements for it
Only the 60HE will come with it
Looks like this one is 3M Taped on lol
ts looks so bad
lol
😂
the lettering is just printed on
thanks aliexpress for recommending raws... and a $50.000 dollar chandelier
Every real keyboard enthusiast has a $50,000 chandelier
damn I guess I got my work cut out for me 😄
ohhh
liking this set more than x-ray tbh
if they ditched the 'ascend' for Enter i'd be buzzin
it's so bright irl rofl. Brings me back to when the 60HE launched. Was just curious what this setup would look like. It's a shame the Jade Max's are quiet and they feel like they will split / crack all your keycaps lel
I think it's just PC stems are grippier, but none of my gmk keycaps had any issues on maxes
not that im keeping them in my build, im just lubing my frankenswitches xd
Haven't tossed any GMK on it yet only the stock caps and these so far
I do have a set of DMK ghost I may toss on tomorrow
this shit looks wild irl though
Brb seizure
Thinking of doing these
Should look quite nice
They are okay
On my OLED monitor : Ouch, my eyes !
my ips monitor actually gets significantly warmer than my oled
that is so bright wtf 😭
what mod did he do?
how often do you guys lube up your switches and stabilizers? Every 6 months or 1 year?
After lubing once by hand you don't really lube them again
stabilizers however do need to be tune when needed
Hrm I might take the foam out from my space bar
It’s too effective and my space bar sounds so muted vs the other keys clacking on raw he
anyone here have raw he switches with ceramic keycaps? Does it sound good?
What switches that work with the 60he sound best with cerakeys?
can anyone send me a sound test of the holy60 with geon raw he?
I just realised he never closed his eyes
Can someone send a picture of the stem on unopened GEON RAW HEs? I opened all my switches and and don't know which direction the stem is facing😅
don't think it matters
just pick one way and go with it
Think so too, but wan't to assemble them the right way :D
i'm pretty sure some of mine were facing one way and some the other
and i just made them all face one way for consistency
i just did the stem side with the small ridge facing that window like the above photo, but some of my geon raw he came with it stock facing the other way too
Yeah, dont think it really matters. besides that ridge, I havent seen anything indicating an orientation
Guys do I keep using lekker 60 for my spacebar or use raws but increase actuation force with software?
i mean that's personal preference
which switch do you prefer
Haven’t tried the raws yet
Lekker v1.5 or v2?
V2
Try them both and see which one you prefer
Just tested both and the Lekkers sound scratchy and I can’t unhear it
Thanks for the heads up
I like it. but I also dont use constant RGB and the black PC plate for aesthetical reasons
PC plate, silicone sandwich, tofu60 case foam
the raws sound very marbly, which I like
hows the combo sound? tempted to just get the pc plate rn
Dont care for rgb too much so ill probably get it in black
I mean that the RAWs sound very marbly with the setup I mentioned
so definitely still "clacky" but its satisfying to my ears.
I think the silicone pad helps a lot there, because it makes the PC plate stiffer than the poron and mostly absorbs middle frequencies
both foam and silicon iirc
Sweet, ill test out both when it comes
correct, comes with both foam and silicone
is lekker v2 decent? I think they are deepest sounding HE switch currently but I am considering between waiting for something new or getting those
i really dont trust lekker for how bad v1 were
different switch
you think its worth trying ? :3
i am just looking for deeper sounding switch for my fr4
its pretty much a good option if u like 4.0mm open bottoms
raw is way to high pitched for me with fr4 so i switched back to pc for the current setup
one nice thing about the way pcb is setup, i can literally just swap the pcb with a different plate that has a different set of switch
thats kinda nice

i am looking at mikeytypes video.. fck man, this sounds better after hand lube
i dont wanna lube switch
Maybe try a layer of tape in it
eh not the biggest fan of doing a ton of tape mod myself. I'll just remove the foam and go back to full spacebar clack
foam just works better if going for a thockier build, but with clack it makes it weird to me
Is that for the RAWs?
lekker
;0
wrong josh homie
Go ahead and update the spreadsheet for the GMMK 3 Pro HE - shit Outemu switches only
Worst boards I’ve ever laid hands on.
https://tezcables.com/coiled-keyboard-cables/ price look kinda good
ayo thats me
doesn't work with jades or anything else? figured polarity would be same
but guess not
big oof
i kinda thought outemus worked on the wooting
just poorly
actually looking at our list all the previous oetemus have been opposite polarit of wooting
so gmmk3 prob cant use anyuthign else rip
insane
werent the otm one’s like beige pink the same
From everything I tested and looked into - I don't have any other literal from Outemu switches - but all Glorious Outemu Rebrandeds the polarity is swapped around. I have (no flex) literally every mag switch imaginable and none of them work on the GMMK 3 Pro HE's.
Outemu switches are the only ones I've not bought, don't care to, but since the pink / biege are classified and sold by themselves and then all of the others are grouped in one listing I'd imagine they made the pink / beige able to work with a more variety of boards, just a guess.
oh nice, i was wondering when someone would 3d print some things
jakeu is so goated
hey, any confirmed working way to make space not so loud on 80HE?
Foam insert under the space bar
you can cut it yourself or buy cheapie ones from aliexpress or other keyboard sites
@glacial wind o ya remember when i said i ran glasspads ?
Apparently ive tried in some humid conditions it will stick
But overall esp if ur in an ac room and outside isnt so hot ur forearm shldnt be sticking as much
Even if so with humid conditions it wouldnt so bad unless u sweat
Yeah that’s my issue, my sweat isn’t due to ac
I just have naturally sweaty hands when gaming even in ac
so no glass pads for me unfortunately
That’s actually great to know I’ll never own a glass pad then, RIP sweaty hands
Good to know, I only sweat when it's hot
Hot I mean... 29C
I usually set my ac to 28 or 27
How's glasspad btw? Planning to get skypad 4.0 next month
Theres a work around, people getting femboy gloves/arm sleeves
Very popular with Glass pad users
If u got sweaty hands its still okay
That means is cuz u grip too aggro
Cuz the skypad 4.0 is fuckin fast
I don't know, I play with high sens because most of my mousepad is small. So maybe slow?
If ur using a slow mousepad
Small*
And high sense
Ur gonna be a wrist player
If u plan to run slow sense u wld need a bigger mousepad
If u want check if the yuki aim is good for u or not or u cld try glsswrks at a later date
Skypad in general is speed
But if u want like an slow u gotta get used to anything u plan to buy
Or the radar sense
@chilly mural ^^ this is if u want control
Ik the yuki and the hana the hana will be control idk about the yuki aim 2.0
Umu, thanks for the recommendation. I might still try skypad since idm getting used to new things anyway
Ye js to you cuz from what i hear the skypad is crazy fadt
Fast*
But if u have no problems adapting to it within a week or 2 it shldnt be an issue
Else u wld need control skates and a cloth sleeve
And some sense adjustment
The cloth sleeve is optional tho
I love glass pads but hate how my skin sticks to it
yeh, I want glass mousepad because it's supposedly easy to clean with only a wipe every match. I'm used to wiping the arcade button when playing there, so the dust issue is not really an issue.
for me
Such a downside even tho the durability is great
The humidity is also ass but it depends
I dont udually get this issue
Only when its hot at
I’ll wait till the skin problem thing doesn’t exist even in high humidity areas
Yeah
If u ask me
Get a arm sleeve
I did, my hand gets stuck instead 💀💀💀
No it’s a medical thing. My grip is fine
Some people just have naturally sweaty hands
I would get those sleeve gloves but I clawgrip
You need to get one that covers the back of your palm/wridt
I made one like that and it works great
You know any?
They work fine with claw, just make sure they stop at your knuckle
thanks, I had some foam laying around and cut it but that deleted like last 10% of travel distance, maybe too thick? is there some guidance about thickness or other measurements so I purchase correct one probably from aliepress
Yeah I know but it’s just not worth the hassle for me honestly. Even with a sleeve it’s not quite the same and keeping the surface spotless and issue free is too annoying for me with glass pads
I think pulsar and skypad make some
I think if I add grip tape, it should work
cloth sticks a lil to grip tape no?
Depends on the material
True
I like this better than foam for spacebars https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09K59281M/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1
Art3d heavy-duty Nano tape adopt the nano-micro-molecular technology which offers a powerful adhesion almost on any surfaces and yet removable, reusable, and no residue. It’s versatile and multipurpose which can be used for pictures hanging, accessories and home appliance fixing, wall panel and ca...
O ic
It’s generally fairly universal fit, long as it’s not blocking the actual stem hole or sticking out from the keycap it’s generally fine
U can get pulsar uhh
Theres a few more
But idk which ones are good
I trust pulsar so I’ll give it a look
Sure
Honestly if I didn’t mainly just play tact fps and already have very high tracking scores I might be more tempted to try more glass pads, but for my game type it’s just not worth
Actually tbh, my claw isn’t fully supported with my palm, it’s like barely touching my palm sides which give me the fingertip feel so, might work
I do claw
But my claws relaxed
My issue mainly is the wrist where the palm reides isnt rest fully
^hence why i phased out my lamzu for a ninjutso
we have the same grip I think
but I went from lamzu to op18k
flat sides feel better with this grip so idk
The lamzu as well works for me but it isnt as comfortable esp with the grip im running but if in running a lil more aggro it shldnt be an issue
Idk but ik is that if theres improvement and were comfortable
Thats all we need
The exact same way I feel
True
Yeah
just some offbrand one, feels really good and got it for 60-70 bucks
Ikea ?
nah it was some chinese company with the product name shirolax or something
O i c
Mb, brand name is SIROOLAC
ooo
Came with dot feet that feel like corepads so I kept using them lol
Thats good
You use an arm sleeve right?
I use superglides pad
when i switch cases from wooting to tofu60 redux , do you guys recommend using the wooting foam for the case or the tofu foam?
I prefer the tofu foam
what does that do for the sound?
i also bought geon raws
I honestly don't remember it was a while ago I swapped it out
you keep the steel plate? or switched it
But it also made my board sit better in the case (I've got friction mount)
PC plate
from wooting?
Yeah
i just bought that too and cant decide to keep the steel plate or use the pc plate with foam or silicone
With my build using dashes I prefer PC plate + foam
When I had lekkers I liked the silicone
okok ty for your opinion. When you switch to the tofu case did you use the screw for the middle part for installing? i saw some people used it and some didnt
For the 2 days I used tray mount yeah
I put the middle one in
Took it out once I went friction mount
oh okay
once i switch cases i dont think i will lube the stabs since i got this keyboard in august, or is lubing a must when switches cases and plates
hmmm
okay maybe lube the space bar since it could sound better
you find any deals on the oled monitors yet?
Nope
ight i'll let you know if i find some
I really wanna try this one
Ah gotcha
Does it work on cloth too
Is it like a one size fits all or is there sizes
There’s L and S
The strap is adjustable
And has magnet on near side so very easy on/off once you get it adjusted
That’s smart, I might consider it
I just realized a left handed g2.0 would be sweet for keyboard
Just take off the strap
Not offered tho RIP
And now we wait.
Cosmos?
Only thing missing
Then I’ll swap out knight stabs and test some diff plates and be done
Damn that’ll feel good lol
So pumped
@robust siren might buy these bad boys
well im sure theyll definitely look better than the wolverine ones
STOP JUDGING ME ASDAfasfafadfgadga
i saw wolverine and insta purchase

just buy it all
if you saw reyna keycaps you wouldnt hesitate, i dont wanna hear it
ill know they look like ass
i cant have printed characters on keycaps

your taste in keycaps is peculiar.
im new to this whole scene im trying my best🥹
you cannot learn taste. You will always be the odd one out with the artisan keycaps that are an assault on the eyes.
drop your keycap taste so i may judge you😭
let see those sets
wob is just solid
clean up your spacebar first
looks good tho i like the wob with some bow mixed in and the case color fits too
that was freshly assembled.
because I fingered that thing a dozen times while installing the space bar foam
hows the spacebar foam
noticable.
the 80he spacebar is starting to annoy me so i got the foam from pbtfans hopefully its good for 80 to
on these keycaps, the foam causes the spacebar to basically sound like any of the alphas. really nice.
thats nice
yuck
anyone know any good keycap set websites?
depends how much you are willing to spend

ok then i wont show you GMK keycaps
dang osume is slightly outside your range
i really want to get some of those but they dont have international kits for sale
Ripp
vendors
check out pbtfans

Ye i am rn
Tyty
your opinion is invalid.
i see the taste here is just simple design keycaps but i know the quality is good
I am just pulling your leg 😄
the one with paint i posted is zom100
and kbtfans keycaps set are almost all sold out
i know friend
i like the community here its supportive
the one I posted and the similar, semi-transparent one (neon) are in store, plus the inverse of mine, bow.
🥱
also seems like kbd is restocking some rn
i seen this set i really like but its not available
well, fingers crossed a set comes back into stock you like.
something less revolting than your past choices 😂
gmk norse
for da sublegends
Holy me! This thing is really good! The Dav3 pro is too big but this is awesome!
Boys how many switches i need if i want to update my gf wooting to the v2? Wooting 60HE
which model is it?
Death adder v3 hyperspeed
61 buy 70
Ty
this guy is a raw hater
aka
opinion not worth caring about
I think he just hates life in general
Just don't feed trolls
A random person's opinion on the internet should mean nothing to you
Ask for a refund pbtfans are really good about that one time I broke 2 keycaps by being dumb they sent me new ones free
61
But get 70 just in case
Says the grown man spending his time critizing people on the internet
lool wtf
Keycaps that thock? Price range up to $150
Tried Auras cause they were on sale for $20 and they were so god damn clacky I switched back to stock wooting caps.
I can't link anything but can point you in a direction
Wanna try to find some thick (probably dye sub) pbt
thick pbt dyesub caps are probably the deepest sounding
keycaps profile also affect the sound
Brands? I just modded my Wooting from 2022. Loving the low thock sound.
Idk any brands that do thick pbt specifically
I hear ppl talking about the alphas, and their sound as if it was a reference point. What are alphas?
Says hobby like he likes keyboards, but in reality he probably hates his keyboard so he’s coping 🤣😭
No he’s baiting a reactionary out of people who should know better
Cerakey
Like when you said femboys use gaming sleeves?
im not convinced that guy actually likes keyboards at all tbh
its like when hipyo goes undercover to be a gamer, we all know its not true
Omg that’s so true
That's a lot lol any thick pbt keycaps thock especially pbtfans
pbtfans arent dyesub though, so not that deep
I think they have some dye subs
I personally prefer double shot because those legends won't fade in several lifetimes
Wild
having worn out ABS caps and seen dye sub fade I wont buy anything but doubleshot.
This. They will fade but legends will stay
A light color like modern pbtfans desko or Lucy is great for thock
Me too lol I hate it when the legends fade
I took more offense to ABS shimmer/wear than the fading.
I don't think a color affects how much a keyboard 'thocks'
I have Lucy and it's not any more thockier than my gmk set
so
it could be due to the fact that 80he has the silicone between pcb and plate, which you can't change
and it dampens the lower range of frequencies a bit
i meant those are light colored caps that thock i must have phrased it wrong
a pbt set however should thock more than gmk like arcsyko said it could be because 80HE has silicone instead of poron as the sandwich pad
ohh
shenpo v2 went 1.8
nicepbt goes to 1.7
its all about blank thickness
imma be honest, I prefer a marbly clack over a foamy thock
I prefer thocky creamy clack
ur just buying bad dyesub caps
simple as lol
I dont buy dyesub caps at all.
skill issue
possibly.
Does the backspace black jades use dual stage springs?
yes but they're trash
black jades aint worth it
get jade pros
or geon raw he
50+ dollars for jade recolor and short ass double stage spring
What part of the build process should I lube my stabilizers in? Currently don't have anything assembled, just got my 60he+ module in the mail and took everything apart to switch the silicone with the foam and I'm not sure if i should lube my stabilizers now, after it's assembled, if it matters, etc
nah just try it first
Trash in what regard? is it just jades with dual stage springs? i already own regular jades. i want switches with faster rebound for better spammability and stability.
that would be jade pros with their longer spring
spring in black jades is very short, not much benefit
and black jades are insanely overpriced
i see. i heard the maxes have issues with offset key presses.
there are dual stage springs on aliexpress sold separately too
Makes the keyboard dreaaaaamy
oh i see. what about the geon raws?
so if i am not mistaken. the jade pros have longer spring than the jades with the same actuation force throughout?
not sure about exact actuation force but they are light and spring is way longer
geon raws have a shorter spring
gotcha thanks for the info
do you know anything about the gaming jades?
the spring length is particular
np, just didnt want someone to spend money on overpriced normal jades with a short dual stage spring 😄
not sure but they're looking like jade pros just with boxed stem
the spring length isnt mentioned on their website for the jade gaming. jade pros are 20mm
actuation force doesnt exist for adjustable ap
This is probably a really dumb question but should I use krytox205 or stabilizer grease to lube the wire of the stabilizers? Would there even be a difference?
yeah just mixed up terms, I meant spring force
you can use 205g0, its about as thin as anyone should go to achieve an effect, but it can seperate earlier
well i meant the physical force yea sorry
Since i have both I should just use the grease then
Appreciate it, thank you
I'm sorry if I asked this before but I want to ask again before I assemble everything, is it worth it to hand lube the geon raws? I have the stuff and the time to do it, but I know factory lube is pretty good
type on it
then u know
open one up and hand lube it, and see for yourself if you think it is worth it.
try lubing one fully and compare it to stock and see if you like it. Personally I couldnt find a difference between the two so I just opted for springs
got a comparison?
idk where my fully one is tbh, they're all in their respective bags
i prefer stock wooting
you monster.
I prefer dreamy
Do I need something like this?
https://divinikey.com/products/tx-ap-long-pole-stabilizers?variant=40406851977281
TX AP Long Pole Stabilizers are designed to better compliment long pole switches by limiting the total travel distance of the stabilizers. Now coming in the "AP" revision which stands for "almost perfect". This revision is notable in its improvements to the housing and stem to fit the wire better, reduce wobble, as wel
dreamy marbly heavenly switch
we need new buzzwords for 2025
Mhm
Guys should I keep my wooting screw in stabs when I get da 80he
I'd keep em and get geon stem spacers if I were to use shorter travel switches
long pole stem on stab is that just like a shorter top?
longer
wait that doesn't make sense to me, since the spacer shorten the length of the top no?
well the keycap sits higher because of the spacer
so it acts like a longer pole stab
ah i c
is it visually noticeable when comparing the alignment with the other keys/keycaps?
no
the difference is in how deep your key can go, so in standby the key is always at the same level as others
but i do think there is a difference, i think the mod sounded slightly better and more stable in a way when i swapped to a long pole stem stab
but that can just be tx ap possibly being better than the stock stab to begin with
do you put those spacers on all the switches or just for the stabs?
stabs
do you put two spacers on a stab switch? i seen pictures online where they used either one or two
or is it a preference thing
I guess it depends on your switch travel distance, but for HE switches I think only one should be used
some MX long pole switches have even shorter travel distances like 3.0mm
okay
so if i use geon raw he switches with the standard wooting stabs i should be fine? or should i use those spacers
it will be fine but with spacers / long pole stabs it will be a bit more stable
ok ty
im modding my keyboard soon so thats why im asking all these questions
i bought my wooting 60he+ and got it in august so far my mod build is tofu 60 redux with brass weight, wooting epdm foam, either use the wooting steel plate or pc plate with foam or silcone, wooting 60he+ stabs, geon raw he switches. Keycaps im still deciding
i dont think i need to lube the stabs since i got the keyboard recently. Unless people recommend me too
there's no need for a recommendation, just see for yourself if your stabs need tuning
fair enough
im trying to get a thocky or deep sound. I know the geon raw are clacky
i was thinking of doing tape mod but idk
Which side of the pcb should the rubber o rings that come with the 60he+ module go on?
According to the web these are to put on the standoffs in the case, nevermind
I wasn’t expecting my switches and module to arrive early yet alone the same day, feels like Christmas lol 🤣.
Can anybody link their keycaps for their build ?
go to wootstations if you want to get some inspiration, people tend to mention their keycaps as well. just use google or something
Yo what’s the verdict, Geon pingless springs or 22mm?
pingless
I use 62.5g pingless for faster rebound like on longer springs, but if 20-22mm pingless springs existed I'd get them lol
but pingless springs sound very clean, as in the springs themselves don't make any sounds
Lol yeah abs shine sucks imo
Builds character
Has anyone tried putting a 60he module in a June R3? (Or more likely R2)
isn't it just a tray mount
I suppose it is, so yeah should just work
i feel like if the mounting is the same, then just get a tofu
Fair, The new Blizzard colorway just looks pretty good
👍
I rate it
i am just thinking about the price, tofu case is like only 70 with shipping
That doesn't sound great in my head ngl
It probably won't but I'm curious
that sounds interesting, that should be deeper sounding than alu case
Sorry to ping you, but do you know of any good 20-22mm springs that i could use on my jades with like a bottom out of 50g or thereabouts?
there are some on aliexpress, but not sure they're good
Is it possible to get the springs used on the pros?
Couldn't handle all the dust silicone is a pain to clean dust off
Geon 22mm Triple-Stage Springs have three separate stages for the spring. This means that the downstroke of the keypress will be normal but the upstroke will have a much snappier return than linear springs. Geon 22mm Triple-Stage Springs Feature: 110 included in each pack Material: STS304 BR, Ni-Mo, KOS Manufactured in
these are not for HE
i see some multi stage springs from geon, spirit and tx
oh.. how do we know the compatability for the springs?
diameter?
they have to be made out of non magnetic metals and say magnetic springs on listing, also they are wider in diameter
gotcha
Are geon pingless the only HE compatable springs out there?
and the ones on wooting of course
other than ali express 😅
Fk lol
I don’t really want to have to open the switches again ☠️😵💫
you're using black knights with stock sprigns rn?
No I have the AE two stage springs in there
hmm, so you're looking for snappier rebound?
No just less noise lol
Idk if it would make a difference
where do i find AE two stage?
oh sorry i suppose AE is short hand for ali express lol. nvm
I really want like ~35g spring and 2mm full travel HE switch
when I compared my switches with pingless springs and stock geon maxes, very close to ear, I could hear maxes pinging, but pingless were super clean
please @me if you find decent double stage spring or switch
I am waiting on those too
Yeah I have them
Two stage springs
I just found this on AliExpress: $2.77 | 22mm Two-Stage Magnetic Switch Spring Custom Gaming Magnetic Keyboard Wooting Gateron Magnetic Jade Switch 35g 48g
https://a.aliexpress.com/_mNaW6ni
@kind helm @novel bramble
you could get 42.5g pingless geon springs so that you have both zero noise and a bit faster rebound since they are a bit stronger than 35g that you want, as a compromise
Yeah I’m tempted but I also know BK are kind of mid so it’s just a band aid lol
And I don’t really enjoy just tinkering with it for the sake of it
It probably would be nice tho
Wouldn’t hear it either way with my headphones on tho
well replacing springs is actually like 15-20 minutes I think, cause you're not doing anything else with the switch
But yeah divinikey has some. Tempting
Yeah maybe I’ll order some and swap them out when PBS shows up
😵💫
I think it will likely sound quieter, but not sure if the rebound will be much different
but these AE springs are also not super high quality so... lol
those were the ones that someone mentioned to be bad quality, but the length is decent though
22mm
I have these and tbh I think length isnt doing much, cause they have a lot of distance between the coils, so they feel kinda weak
quality wise lul
I compared the L35 to those and to stock BK spring and I preferred it
But they’re all pretty mid IMO
btw i am thinking about a few of these to see if it is possible to add some bounce against the plate and pcb problem

I just want a full black nylon switch already
what would really work better in my mind is something like this https://www.amazon.com/AUEAR-Silicone-Reducing-Vibration-Mouting/dp/B08KGWTDHK/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=Silicone+Screws but made specifically for plate and pcb
damn if I lived in US I could've sent you a pack of my jade max or jade pro springs 😄
they are snappy but also light to press
maybe you can grab other pingless variants to find a middle ground between snappiness and press force
Other pingless exist?
jade pro is 20mm, that is actually shorter than the AE stuff
Yeah but gold bro

I meant different force variants, they have 42.5, 52.5, 62.5
Oh right
yeah but way higher quality
Yeah I would only go 42.5 lol
not sure if you've seen but I'm doing a new frankenswitch lol
I replaced gateron stem with raw stem in my "jade knights" and it solved tightness issues
so it's like geon grade tolerances with jade sound, which I like
yeah they have standard length kinda
im using 62.5 which Im fine with, but also has nice fast rebound for me
That’s the thing for me and why I have a hard time swapping stuff out so often. It’s evolving so quick
Yesh I’m sure they’re nice
But he’ll probably have 22mm two stage pingless gold spring some time in 2025
do u guys have any 75% board recommendations, budget is 350
lul
the madman has 3-stage 22mm length springs for MX
Is it sweet?
dunno, might even be overkill, I just saw that on the store
No sorry. 60HE is all I know.
lmao ok
he's also gonna sell pingless MX springs some time soon, just in time for me to receive my new board, Luminkey LX60
so I might do a proper MX build for the first time, or just build the venoom60he in it lol
lol
or I could try Geon's MX Extreme Gaming switches

they have 3mm travel distance, very long pole switch lol
yeah that's MX though
ikr, would be sick
I know
Fr
That’s why i kind of just want to not care for a couple years then come back when it’s matured a bit lol
So many more options
yeah that's fair
in a couple of years there might even be a new generation of HE
that feels and sounds way better
Right
Every day I entertain the idea of just buying RAW’s and throwing them in lol
Probably will at some point lol
Or just wait for that black geon switch
do that with the softest plate you've got
will be nice
True
I wonder if it's going to be an upgrade from raws or just a more affordable version
Some random screen shot I saw of a being developed geon switch from a live stream I think lol
Bruh
Raw affordable enough lol
Hope not
Well and he made the raptors HE
which is all nylon
So I’m really hoping for some all black nylon shiz
But also not getting my hopes up
yeah I'd love some different materials, cause I noticed a difference with maxes and it was quite interesting, despite the issues people had with them
They’re full POM or what
they have PC stem PC upper
Oh gotcha
and I guess pc lower too lol since all transparent
Yeah I’m over the cookie cutter shit
PC stem is crazy
Yeah they’re all just Nylon bottom, PC top, POM stem
🤢
I like Max
But seem too quirky for me to buy lol
yeah if they were single rail and not 1 dollar per switch might've been a recommendation for a quieter closed bottom switch
with a good spring
how is the stem wobble on the geon raws compared to the jades and jade pro? i know the jade pros have tighter tolerances than the jades resulting in less wobble, but the consequence of less wobble is restrictiveness and less granularity, especially when pressed at an off angle/axis.
raws have the tighest tolerances of them all, and they have no issues with smoothness
Here's a quick sound test of the NEW Gateron Magnetic Jade Gaming Switches. A quick video for those who enjoy a clackity-clack sound profile on their Hall Effect Keyboard.
*The last bit is for the gamers who control their movement keys at an angle
I'm very busy with product review projects at the moment as well as a move so I have not been as a...
0.51
you can see the switch getting stuck, maxes are the biggest offender.
the jades looks fine, and honestly i have the regular jades, they seem fine.
thankfully when I game I press wasd at the perfect angle it seems lol, cause I've been perfectly fine on maxes
if I do deliberately press at an angle yes they are noticeably more sticky than raws
PC on PC contact, plus dual rail has more friction due to less contact surface
my theory at least ^
they have so much money for r and d
even the pros from the video is stickier than the regular jades. He wasn't even pressing the key at an off axis, so if pressed at an angle, the issue would be worse.
I don't think it's an issue in real use
my jade pros arrive tomorrow or the next day, I can let you know if they are any different from normal jades
should be fine for normal presses
analog presses would be a pain tho
From what i have heard, those who want the least restrictive and granular feel across a wide range of angles require switches with looser tolerances which provide a bit of wobble.
too much wobble can also intoduce issues if you have sensitive rapid trigger settings
It makes sense, but you also have material choice, rail design and lube.
this tracks
stick slip between two materials that have similar coefficients of friction can cause this fuckiness, so the glorious idea of having pc to pc would make this suck
sure yea, but i dont think there are switches that wobble to that extent, maybe there are.
i love gateron
yeah maybe even single rail maxes would be like that lol
idk
they make all these blends and can employ good materials already
and just choose not to use them to save money
the off axis presses will also depend on the spring firmness. it would be less of an issue with firmer springs.
they got this all planned out years ahead probably lol
we have now jade pro with a boxed stem (seems like the only difference) which is called jade gaming
fun fact: none of these issues should be a thing when they expect you to pay a dollar per switch in they yea two-thousand and twenty-four
and that ones shit too
Jade gaming dumbest name ever
yeah esp for an HE switch lol
@stone flax I preordered Luminkey LX60 with alu, pp and pc plates, thinking of doing my first MX build
or I could build venom in there lol, it has gummy cutouts
waow
:>
need some MX switch recommendations
33 dollars for 110pcs btw
is that a gateron?
yes
yeah mx switches are usually cheaper, I've seen like giant bags of cherry switches and not expensive at all
what board is that?

monsgeek m1
sounds relatively deep imo
the only build i kept from moving, i had a bunch of budget builds and gave them all to my friends, this was my end game before i started messing with wooting
did you choose pro silvers cause it's like a "gaming" oriented switch?
nah
I've been looking into geon raptor MX gaming and some videos mentioned it is similar to some gateron MX switch that is better suited for gaming
found on a github page that someone host, from recommendation, cheap smooth and not much wobble
ic
bright github
yea 3.4 double stage, snappy boi
but maybe I'll find a local reseller cause that's how I got my gmk taiga, without waiting 2 years 😄
yeah I was consdiering other options, but they have different colorful accent pieces which I don't like
plus I have a silver frog mini
that frog mini you have with venom60 is W
yeah I liked the softer feel a lot

how have they done this
