Fjell is a solid case, is it a tray mount however, while the Salvation is technically a tray mount, it utilizes a fiber-glass leaf spring mounting system for a more flexy/bouncy typing experience.

The Salvation can come in a Full Kit or as a standalone case.

The Fjell only comes as a standalone case.

No. A heavier spring is necessary for the spacebar. A 60g spring will work but it’s weak. 80-100g is the sweet spot for a nice return.

I think any alternative mounts need case foam less than tray mount cases

well it still can affect the sound, so if you think you want, for example, less higher frequencies or just reduce volume, you can still add some foam to the case

it's just a modifier at this point, to adjust it to your liking

I wouldn't hope for "thock" that much to be completely honest

these are my personal observations:

HE keyboards are structured differently, they have more of a louder thud compared to conventional MX switch

and it's not just a matter of building a switch that is going to solve this, the main difference is that MX switches go through pcb, with the stem bottoming out past the pcb (if that makes sense)

and HE switches sit on top of the pcb, which makes the sound very different. the heavy HE stem with hits the pcb from the top (instead of going past it like on MX)

so you have this louder sound that kinda reflects back at you

it will be hard to achieve proper deeper sounds, but if you're going for pure jade max sound, then going no case foam is good for that

BUT again you might have a different idea of what "thock" is so just see how it sounds with jade maxes and make adjustments as you see fit

to answer your question a bit more directly, the fr4 can be a bit more muted with most/some switches, the alu works a bit better and is more consistent I find, it is brighter by just a touch, but not really a huge difference in feel since the fr4 is nickel plated, which probably adds to why the sound isn't hugely different, but noticeable

SW Knights are easy to tune and get sounding optimally but if you’ve tuned stock stabs properly, it won’t be much of a difference in sound.

Honestly, the number one thing I always look for in the HE switch is just the cleanliness of the sound of both bottom out and top out. I don't really look into the sound profile of it first as the board itself with the switches can define the whole sound and can even be changed

more impressive though is that geon asked for feedback then immediately began working on geon raw he and launched them in like 6 months or whatever it was

pretty crazy turn around time to design a switch, then use feedback and release the 2nd much better improved switch before other people even release 1 switch
