Mine are accurate to the end. I typically keep them calibrated as well, and I wouldnt surprised if Ive been using calipers since you were in diapers.

I don’t mean accuracy as in the accuracy of the calipers. The tips are sharp and especially for softer materials, it’ll bite into the material slightly. It can be twisted without you knowing.

Hi Mark, that’s not the measurement I’m getting, that’s the closing of the jaws on the plastic container. It’s twisted because the tips of the jaws don’t straighten out square objects. This is something you notice right away when using calipers.

Unless the square object is very slippery and the sharp jaws don’t grip the surface.
